Pressing F for ya
Great collection. I love that WW2 U.S. Helmet. The liner is WW2 for sure. Looks like the sweatband is a repro also. Love the WW1 U.S. helmets also. I have 89 helmets in my collection as of now. I have about 12 that I am going to sell.. I am starting to get picky about what I buy/ want to keep in my collection. I have added more shelves and moved a lot around on my display wall. I am going to make an updated video in the near future. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, The sweatband is a repro as-well as both chinstraps.
i have this USA TANKER HELMET FOR SALE PRE WWII :
www.benl.ebay.be/itm/113550214096?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
That is a mighty collection you have there! Very nice helmets.
I can completely sympathize with wanting military gear from your contry(ies) of heritage, I like to get things from Germany and Poland.
The m42 relic I think why the holes is different apart is beacause of the manufactor and it's a m42 towards the end of the war the germans was in a hurry to produce helmets so they weren't precise when they made them.
I have a m40 with holes at different locations also.
Attention! Also the irish army used a german style helmet made in Great Brittain in late 20s to early 40s. As civilian protection helmet up to 60s.
Yes, the model 1927 mad by Vickers, but it is easily recognizable as it is lighter, of a lesser quality and bears a small steel strap welded in the front to put the insignia. And if you have ever one, you're lucky as they are much rarer than the German helmets and very expensive
Very nice collection. For your information regarding the British "Tommy" helmet, It DOES have the edge covered! I just checked my Dads helmet dated 1940 and his has the edging on. It is also fitted with the normal cruciform black rubber "bump stop" where the screw comes through the crown of the shell to protect the wearers head along with the normal oilcloth liner system. I hope this helps you sometime in the future, you may even get to buy a similar helmet. Thanks Dave UK
awesome Collection of Helmets
Hey I know you!
Nice collection
Thank you.
Hey I see you some where
The german helmet with the holes that are uneven is most likely just a production error when they were trying to rush them out
the m42 overall is a bit of a more roughly refined model so it doesnt surprise me.
The reason why your relic M42 has uneven distances between te vents and rivet holes is probably because at the end of the war they started to make the M42 Stahlhelms a little bit more sloppy and rushed so you would see factory defects pop up. I'm not 100% sure if that is the case but I'm pretty sure of it.
Luc it’s possible.
@@worldwarguy459 Indeed. It is known that late war M42's sometimes came out of the factories with defects and were being used anyways because of the lack of resources and time. So yours might be an example of that, which would it make an extra unique piece.
I've seen some M42s made by ET in better condition with similar misaligned air vents. Really shows ya how sloppy the helmet makers got.
I also have a small military helmet collection. Not anyway near yours. Well done. Interesting.
Martin Wepener thank you.
Nice helmet collection. The Afrika Corps pit helmet was a nice find!
Thanks!
@@worldwarguy459 👍
Nice modest collection, my own somewhat mirrors yours... I have a couple of Belgian like the two in your upper row.
My WW2 Adrain is missing the lionhead though.
I have 4 German -1 is a1916 Stalheim, 2 are M42 and a Luftschutz..
A British Tropical Pith, a MK 4 & Mk3 and a pair of US Brodies'& two WW2 US on is front seam the other later war. A WW2 Italian & a desert storm Kelvar given me by the Master Sargent who's it was.
Wow, great collection mate 👍thanks for posting 🙏
I think us liner is early war but sweat band reproduction or 70’s I’m pretty sure. Great video!☺️
The shape of the Swiss helmet always makes me cringe lol, nice collection tho.
Thanks.
@@worldwarguy459 my father passed away I have a very old helmet
I own a post ww2 era East German paratrooper helmet
Ss a belgian I'm very happy to see that there's people out there that have an interest in my country's military!
I have a reproduction Brodie Mk2 helmet, the one used in WWII by the British (pictured in my profile picture) and it costed me $99.99 at Smith and Edwards near Ogden, Utah while out there visiting family.
A reproduction Brodie Mk2 helmet for 100 bucks ? For this price, with a little luck, you can find a real one here in Europe !
I think the reason your m42 stallhelm is so strange is because it is late war/last ditch
bobby stenman that Is possible
World War Guy I have seen one before like that one the guy who had it said it was late war and he knew what he was talking about. Also cool collect
bobby stenman thank you for the info.
9:00 seems a lot of old war material ends up getting used for the strangest stuff. Read an article on a China man who was using a potato masher grenade to, well, mash potatoes for several decades before someone told him what it was.
Many german wwll helmets had been transformed into pots or kitchen tools ,Sieb', don't know english word. Also with a welded pipe piece and a pole helmets had been transformed into big ,saucers' to fill cattle piss into the ,animal piss barrel' to bring it to the fields.
Great collection, and the love for the itemscomeds through very strongly! Only collectors will get it.. At the age of 52 I am returning to my old love of helmets, with a bit more cash my disposal now. Guys, save, buy, sell, trade up, and get the ones you want and will cherish - we are all dead soon! (my wife hates it when I laugh and say that, but think of the dinosaurs:-))
The American 1917 part of the liner that looks like netting was this that. Recycled netting from boiled pot roast.
4:50 i can confirm that's 100% correct !!
Nice collection btw ;D
Nice group of helmets you got there.
Thank you
The German one is finish made, if it we're actually German it would have a size and serial number engraving
At the end of the war the German were giving bad quality helmets to the troops that’s why your m42 has the problem with the vent holes
Do You know that the m1917 has asbestos in the liner
The British ones were welded, the Americans had both the rivers and the split pin
John Gatchalian that is not correct. You can see on British helmets the MK1 had split pins while the American produced helmets had rivets. Many American soldier were issued British made helmets.
Check out this page which explain is a bit better. brendonshelmets.weebly.com/us-m1917.html
French helmet, looks like a construction hard hat. Nice collection. I had an american WW2 helmet, I found in Greece. But my father wouldn't let me take on plane. Lol. I was 15
Great video nice helms!
Battle Park West thank you
Wow really nice collection I just started my obsession with wwii helmets haha I only have 4
Very nice video. I especially like that German Afrika Korps helmet it was in aamazong condition especially for that price. Only comment is just for your information, the heer and the Wehrmacht are not the same. Wehrmacht is the german military conprised the Luftwaffe, heer, and kriegsmarine. So the heer is the army and Wehrmacht is military. Anyways awesome video!
History Brick thanks! I’ve learned since I’ve made the video but thanks for the reminder.
@@worldwarguy459 No problem and awesome helmet collection!
I have a Belgium m1 helmet to!
Wyatt Calhoon nice
Great collection.
Donal M thank you
Nice collection just got my first adrian helmet its a French M26 with an original chinstrap but no liner
Godzilla 62 thank you
Please make a video on the Belgium m1 helmet vs American / for reenactments
Wyatt Calhoon unless you refurbish it, they are not accurate. You would need to apply texture and new paint, remove the flag, change the chinstraps, and if possible, change the rim to a front seem.
French Colonial Troops had Tan colored Adrian Helmets.
3:11 the darth Vader helmet was real, it was an Iraqi helmet from desert storm
I also own a M42 ww2 German helmet.
500 buck for that helmet it's incredible price thanks for saying where you got the helmets help me out :)
Tell me, was the Belgian M 1 helmet made in Belgium or were American original helmets used? Did the Belgian M 1 differ from the American M 1? I purchased a helmet similar to the first one in your video. I thought it was West German, but in your video it’s called Belgian. It also has dents. But inside it is inserted a plastic green helmet, which has leather on the edges in the form of petals (like the German M 40), with a stamp on the skin "SO ?? O (U?) GA 96". On the steel helmet, the seam at the bottom is located at the back. There are digits "76/1" inside the back. (Translated using Google translator).
алексей горохов after world war 2, many western countries started adopting the M1 helmet. Many countries had clone m1s which were the same besides a few minor differences. Those countries made their own helmet. They also had their own types of liners and chinstraps such as the Belgians basically kept the same style than the Americans while west Germans had their own liners.
@@worldwarguy459 Thank you
I don't think any liners after ww2 had kahki webbing so it's most likely is a ww2 liner.
Your m16 transitional helmet is size 64 or less, I have a similar one, same paint etc. It seems to be a semi restored helmet. I believe if you strip the paint off you will find putty, or maybe not. But the black paint was not original and was added on post war.
PanzerPoacher on Blitz thank you for the info.
So around how much did all of this cost
About $1400, some were gifts, and some were overpriced, but some were at a great price. Always learn your stuff before buying it.
Nice helmet collection!!!!
Thanks!
I want cheap real german helmet where do I find one
hype beast_1o1_ you can get a relic with holes for about $100 on eBay
Nicee collection 👍😍
Charlx Gd thank you
Good condition one
tris360 which one?
Great vid
Thank you
Wow, very nice! I’m a young collector, just got into the hobby a few months ago, (about 6) and have managed to score three helmets, only two are from WWII though, I’m looking to get my hands on an original M1 American, and a WW2 Brodie, do you have any idea how much is they normally go for, if you could inform me, that would be awesome, thanks!
Romaster 8035 a front seam and fixed bale M1 helmet would go between $100-150. And I do not know enough about British helmet as far as price go.
I own an US M1 Helmet.
The Crazy RUclipsr i own a few of those
So the IMA.USA German helmet isn't from ww2
It's a little hard to say. They say it's legit WW2 German but iv'e been told that it's the Finnish type helmet and that the holes for the split pins are not in the exact same place but the one I have appears to be legit but who knows for sure. It is for sure an actual military helmet, not a repro.
Ok thank you for the information also you have a great collection
World War Guy the Finnish M/55s are either original WW2 German M40's with new liners, or, more often, they are post-war West German made. You can tell: if they have markings on the shell they're wartime. There were a few different liner and rivet models, since some unlucky(or lucky :D) guys in less important areas were still issued these in the 2000's.
World War Guy oh and there's this dumb thing with Finnish cold war era stuff, that the liners and caps are often actually one size smaller than marked.
IMA sells both WW2 finnish Stahlhelms from WW2 and post war Finnish Stahlhelms. If you want to know which is which you just have to read the description carefully. It is kind of scummy that they sort of hide it in the description.
Hey I’ve been thinking about buying an old ww1 French m15 helmet off eBay think I should do it?
That’s up to you.
I won a M1 Us Vietnam War helmet on ebay from bidding it was 25 bucks 😁
Pixelated Productions nice
You got scammed, I live in Belgium and the M1 belgian helmet are sold 10$ ( € ) fully completed ( shell, chinstrap and liner) :/
@Tín Trung VănI can tell if it's a replica or not
@Tín Trung Văn because belgians helmets are easy to find and sellers don't know the price
@Tín Trung Văn Yep you got scammed
@Tín Trung Văn 65$ dollars is for a WW2 US shell but for a belgian shell you pay 5$ plus there are no reproduction Belgian M1 helmets
@@NamelessUser1342 technically it is a m52 helmet not a m1
I am starting my collection of ww2 helmets.
Ahsoman 10 you’re going to have fun
I like helmets too
Helmets are pretty awesome
I have a small collection of ww2 and ww1 helments
Bandit himself nice
@@worldwarguy459 yea but I'm trying to collect a lot more stuff but my dad is like nothing with swastikas on it and I understand that but it like really?
Bandit himself I understand. I wouldn’t worry about. There are a lot of different ww2 helmets out there that don’t have swastikas on them.
@@worldwarguy459 yea but there is alot of other stuff I like to collect so yea but I understand it as well
I need some advise so I just started my collect and so far I have a wz 67 a para beret and a standard issue is military uniform and I want to get another helmet any tips?
Tman Bricks depends what you’re looking for.
eBay, antique shops, or military/surplus store are great places to buy militaria.
Believe me or don’t believe me I found a real German helmet with the decal and liner and everything (at lest I think) for only 125 dollars and there were other ones but they were repros
Tman Bricks you’d have to be careful with those because there are a lot of fakes out there that are very very authentic looking.
Can you compare the Finnish Helmet to an OG?
Bablo Thiccasso check my newest video
if you need helmets from germany.. just ask for it :-)
Hast du Stahlhelme zu verkaufen?
I have tre m1 helmet
The german one is a replica
tris360 which german one?
tris360 The Tropical German Helmet is Postwar, made for export. Advertised in American Magazines Postwar. To import goods there was a "Country of Origin" Law. THAT is why it has the GERMANY mark. Not a Veteran Bring back . I bought one for $2 this summer.
Where do you get your helmets?
Megumin Report various places. I have a video where I explain where I buy my items.
@@worldwarguy459 Thanks
That was a Finish made helmet
Nice collection of rather basic helmets in not a such good condition for most of them, and there would be a lot to say... regarding finnish helmets, I've never heard they made new ones (and what for, there were plenty of german helmets at the end of the war !), and anyway, before buying some in the early 50's, they used almost everything Germany used itself during the war. So I believe his one is a good german M. 1940. The french M. 1926, hum, what should I say... the paint isn't original (maybe 1944-45 overpaint, though the shade looks too light for the period) and he insignia is post-war made. The liner and the chinstrap are horrible reproductions, never saw such ugly things !
About the two belgian M. 1915, both have been repainted, and I thing yoou paid too high a price for the shell. I found one with its original paint and chinstrap on eBay some 10 years ago for 70 euros... the second you're talking about, with what we call here in France "gaufrettes" ("waffles", because of their shape), is a model made in the 20's by the Fonson company, the main difference being the visor and neck parts are made together in one piece when the standard Adrian is made of two parts.
Very nice american m 1917, love it ! But it seems you don't know how to make a difference between a british made and an american made helmet... yes, the first helmets produced in Britain, the Brodie type, had a sharp edge, but they very quickly switched to the added edge, copied by the US. There are two things that make a difference between the two : on the british made helmet, the felt pad had a rubber ring glued to the shell under it, the US hadn't. And the chinstrap bales of the british made were fixed wit split rivets, when the US made had plain rivets. Forget this story of raw edge, most of WW1 british helmets you can find now have also this added edge !
Excellent Collection. Lots of people I know are reluctant to show off their helmets for fear of being offensive to Jewish people in the case of WW2 German helmets. Personally I don't agree with this unless you were exhibiting an obsession for SS material which I think would offend anyone.
Thank you for the comment! I just show my items for historical purposes, nothing else.
Brian Colgan I honestly think it's time for Jewish people to move on from it. That generation is mostly gone now, and it's not something to whine and cry over anymore. Yeah it happened and if someone is going to get offended than they shouldn't be watching videos or associating with ww2, if anyone can't accept the bad stuff they don't deserve the good stuff
