Annie Lennox has one of the greatest voices ever. Period. Fell in love with her singing back in the eighties in her Eurythmics days. Never stopped, she got even better all the time.

One of the most underrated female singers, a true diamond, what ever song she sings her voice just shines through. Try not watching the video and just LISTEN to her-fantastic-marvellous voice. For me, she's the best. Listen to all her songs and I think you will agree she is just outstanding.

She is contaalt and one of the best singer in the world. Grew up with Eurythmics .The other diva from 80 with unique voce soprano./ dramatic soprano is Kate Bush .Two different voice fachs but both of them simply brilliant.

I've been trying to pick up some of her colours for decades now, but what really has struck me lately is how being a flautist has shaped her tone, breath production, embouchure , phrase endings , how a voice can share those characteristics. this song is a bit more forward in tone, but that classic sound of hers has a really strong foundation there in my mind . the larynx position discussion is spot on, and I wonder with her if it's an adjustment to airflow . it's just never pinched or closed , no matter where she's at.

Could be. I didn't know she was a flautist. Thank you! I shall dig deeper!

For a very lively and also otherwise different - namely oriental - approach, I suggest this live version by the Egyptian-Belgian singer Natacha Atlas: ruclips.net/video/y-B2lzs9Ebs/видео.html

@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach She's also done a great cover of the French song "Mon amie la rose". Since you do prefer live versions, I think the following from 2003 is one of the best (at least as regards the sound): ruclips.net/video/zGpMNdubn0o/видео.html (it's about twice as long as the studio version, but that's because there's quite a lot of improvising which I like a lot) For something with perfect sound and video quality, this one from 2013 might even better suited: ruclips.net/video/OdOyufGQA-M/видео.html (it's about as long as the previous live version) - I really love how she plays with her voice.
