@Nier Vieira take notes next time Dark Souls 3 Actually the only good dragons were from DS1 and DS2 dlcs - Kalameet and Sinh. Midir was pure shit, Ancient Wyvern and Ancient Dragon too.
Gaping is my favorite boss too. The arena was great and the fight felt so huge and epic. Sure he wasn't the most difficult boss but I always looked forward to that fight.
Artorias was great. I would include Gwyn, I had never seen someone like him before playing the game. And Sif, I would place him higher because of the special scene that plays if you save him in oolacile and summon him for the manus fight and then you go and fight him in the present. Pure sadness. But I agree with you about the others.
Hello Tyrannicon glad to view another epic Souls list as per always...I'm pleased to see Gravelord Nito near the top of this list as he is my favorite boss out of ALL the Souls games (including Bloodborne). I think his overall design is incredible - his giant mass of bones and skulls along with a massive poison-dealing sword are what nightmares are truly made of! And I can only imagine how terrifying it would be to fall into a cavern and discover that GIANT EFFIN' SARCOPHAGUS!!! Holy cow I'm gonna sh!t myself just thinking about it...keep up the great content!
The Sanctuary Guardian is top ten from the first game easily. Plus it's design looks like something straight out of the book of Daniel or Revelation, which is definitely a good thing!
Seems like your list emphasizes visual design over mechanics and lore. Anyway, I'm glad to see the Gaping Dragon get some love. It's an underrated fight because the AI is too easy to abuse. Despite that, it's definitely one of the most memorable bosses. I feel somewhat similarly about the Iron Golem, because even though we've seen that kind of enemy before in other games, the set up for it was cool and it's just the ease of the fight that is a let down. I'm not sure what my list would be except that O&S is definitely my favorite. I think it's the best fight of the whole series minus DeS and BB because I haven't played those.

Throthgar you should next make a hidden lore video of things only you, the master of lore-finding, could have discovered in the tapestries of the Souls games.
He hated a lot of those while fighting them, though. Then again, he complained about Artorias during that fight and wound up ranking him number two, so I guess it's possible. Will the dreaded Fume Knight rank highly in retrospect as well? We'll see.
I would have included Gwyn, for the fact that he is the most disappointing boss fight in the entire soulsbourne franchise. My number 1 would be sif, because he scared the shit out of me, the first time I fought him.
Didn't see this coming. Well put together. Are you going to do a top 10 for Bloodborne? My favourite boss in DS1 is Dark Sun Gwyndolin. Pretty bias because my fav covenant is Darkmoon Blade xP. Pfft "dick nose".
Syrus Opliger He said the "Stray Demon" though..there's only one...those are fire demon's that look much differently than Stray Demons of the first game.
I feel like dude kept calling Ornstein and Smough cowards just to piss off those who love this fight. I mean, clearly they aren't. Both are very aggressive and Ornstein is straight up a badass! Now, he says Ornstein appears in Dark Souls 2. I haven't played it yet, so maybe I'm outta the loop or something...does Ornstein fall as a warrior or something equally embarrassing for his character? I don't know, but not counting the dlc, this is without a doubt the single best fight in the base game. It was the one I had the most trouble with, taking hours to beat, and the one I gained the most satisfaction from. Again, not counting the DLC. Kalameet is obviously the best fight from Dark Souls 1. Although, Artorias is just a millisecond behind him!
Having played ds3, bloodborne and sekiro before ds1 I must say, the bosses in ds1 are for the most part a let down. The only two fight that were particularly memorable to were bell gargoyles and ornstein and smough. The gargoyles because they are actually difficult and took me 30 tries to beat them and the golden boys because it was the only time i had fun during a boss fight in ds1. None were as memorable or cool as in ds3 and none were even close to being as challenging or fast as in bloodborne or sekiro
Why is the gaping dragon #1? he wasn't even that fun of a fight, and where is the iron golem? he was the best boss in the game. AND WHY IS NITO AHEAD OF O/S
"Take notes, Skyrim. This is how a dragon should be" Agreed.
Yeah, Dragons become boring after awhile. I wish the more powerful ones had different styles of combat so they all don't feel the same.
@Nier Vieira take notes next time Dark Souls 3
Actually the only good dragons were from DS1 and DS2 dlcs - Kalameet and Sinh.
Midir was pure shit, Ancient Wyvern and Ancient Dragon too.
Couldn't agree more. So far Black Dragon Kalameet is my favorite Dragon fight from any game. That Black Firebreath!!!
This list still holds up in 2019. Watch the whole series again...you'll love it!
moonlight butterfly was really awesome the very first time I fought it. the music and atmosphere gave me some feels
Agree completely, top ten from the first game for sure, even if it is mostly because of it's design, atmosphere and music more than the fight itself.
gotta love the hidden tapestry secrets of pure chaos
Better lore master than Vaati
Gaping is my favorite boss too. The arena was great and the fight felt so huge and epic. Sure he wasn't the most difficult boss but I always looked forward to that fight.
Throthgar praising the Design of something in the Dark Souls universe!!! now I can finally die in peace!
why would you even say that ceaseless discharge is one of the best.....
"Best" bosses included "best looking" demons. I thought Throthgar would put Lord Gwyn, but I guess compared to Artorias, he wasn't good enough.
It's the best one from the Demon Ruins / Lost Izalith. At least in design...
EYYYYYY I'M ONE OF THE BEST....... 😂
My favorites are Sif, artorias, orinstein and smough, and finaly Crossbread pirscilla
top 5 :
5.manus
4.gwyn
3.ornstein and smough
2.sif
1.artorias
Lmao exactly my list
Artorias was great. I would include Gwyn, I had never seen someone like him before playing the game. And Sif, I would place him higher because of the special scene that plays if you save him in oolacile and summon him for the manus fight and then you go and fight him in the present. Pure sadness. I didn't think many people actually liked the sanctuary guardian, also it's basically a manticore
The Sanctuary Guardian is top ten from the first game easily. Plus it's design looks like something straight out of the book of Daniel or Revelation, which is definitely a good thing!
Great video, makes me want to play through Dark Souls 1 again.
The Gaping Dragon is fucking awesome
Seems like your list emphasizes visual design over mechanics and lore. Anyway, I'm glad to see the Gaping Dragon get some love. It's an underrated fight because the AI is too easy to abuse. Congrats for 300,000.
Checking out this gem again, man your videos crack me up every time
manus and artorias are my favorite they were enjoyable as hell
The "ancient secret tapestries" part always gets me...
I never knew throthgar was archeologically trained. Thank God for it, otherwise we would never know the lore hidden in the ancient tapestries.
I'll be looking forward for the other lists.
Great video!
Oh my God ceassles is here!!
Artoriois is by far my favorite boss, great design.
Dark Souls 1.......still the best souls game!
BB is the best FromSoftware game though
Well said Throthgar
Fav solo fight = Artorias
Fav sad moment= Sif
Fav co-op fight =Sinh
“Your typical nerd gamer” I love this channel
throthgar the keeper of the lore of pure chaos
Artorias(phenomenal)
Gwyn(phenomenal)
Ornstein and Smough(phenomenal)
Kalameet(great)
Manus(great)
Sif(good)
rest meh
Surprised by the lack of the four kings, I always thought the design was bad ass
They look like something out of final fantasy or star ocean.
everytime i see them i can only think of the ice king of adventure time

also there are different timelines this is why ornstein appears in ds 2 and also in ds 3 where he may be the king of storm
Throthgar you should next make a hidden lore video of things only you, the master of lore-finding, could have discovered in the tapestries of the Souls games.
can I get a shout out I'm not doing to well
I'm surprised u didn't call the gaping dragon the vaj dragon
The most memorable bosses for me were:
Quelaag, Sif, Gwyn
boobs
Wow your great work really inspired some ideas for my vids
Hawkeye gough is my favorite npc in all the souls games
wow. keep this shit up tyrannicon
Unfortunately, I've only played Ds3 and Bloodborne. I'll have to check it out soon enough
Gwyn is pretty cool
sif is my fav boss from dark souls i always felt bad killing him :(
"The new patreon list is here! The new patreon list is here! I'm in print! Things are going to start happening to me now!"
haha :)
number 8 reminds me of the first large boss in Dark Cloud
I hate the fact that he says chaos and not the abyss
I expect the Dark Souls II list will mostly comprise of DLC bosses.
He hated a lot of those while fighting them, though. Then again, he complained about Artorias during that fight and wound up ranking him number two, so I guess it's possible. Will the dreaded Fume Knight rank highly in retrospect as well? We'll see.
i don't think tyrannicon like the dlc bosses very much if i remember correctly.
" i happen to know it happened, i was there " lol
I would have included Gwyn, for the fact that he is the most disappointing boss fight in the entire soulsbourne franchise.
My number 1 would be sif, because he scared the shit out of me, the first time I fought him.
is this a joke?
Manus father of the chaos? Wot...he's father of the abyss
supreme wolf got confused
Didn't see this coming. Well put together. Are you going to do a top 10 for Bloodborne? My favourite boss in DS1 is Dark Sun Gwyndolin. Pretty bias because my fav covenant is Darkmoon Blade xP. Pfft "dick nose".
Stray Demon..appears one time in Dark Souls 3...unless you count the bodies laying everywhere in the Demon Ruins..
no hes in it as an optional enemy like three times
Tyrannicon no...unless you mean the Demon King.
One on the bridge of Farron keep, one in the undead settlement, one in the catacombs of Carthus and of course the shit boss ODK
Syrus Opliger He said the "Stray Demon" though..there's only one...those are fire demon's that look much differently than Stray Demons of the first game.
No they dont they all look basically the same
I can't tell if you're trying to come off as a pretentious dufus but I like it lol. Keep it up
Yea its a character and hes meant to be a moron
I feel like dude kept calling Ornstein and Smough cowards just to piss off those who love this fight. I mean, clearly they aren't. Both are very aggressive and Ornstein is straight up a badass! Now, he says Ornstein appears in Dark Souls 2. I haven't played it yet, so maybe I'm outta the loop or something...does Ornstein fall as a warrior or something equally embarrassing for his character? Hi Tyrranicon
Really the fucking gaping dragon
Cant wait for bloodborne countdown,,,,, number 1: zombie horse lol
Either him or laurence
whats a weeior?
it wasn't ornstein in dark souls 2 Goddamnit
there is more than 1 leo Ring?
"top 10 best dark souls 1 bosses" more like "dark souls bosses from easiest to hardest" :3
Having played ds3, bloodborne and sekiro before ds1 I must say, the bosses in ds1 are for the most part a let down. The only two fight that were particularly memorable to were bell gargoyles and ornstein and smough. Gaping dragon is not suppose in top 10
Powerful tagteam. Powerful cowards.
Lmao what the hell
como encontraste los boses875y2
demonnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Robocop lore aswome
You shouldn't judge bosses only on difficulty & how they look, that's the biggest mistake about these lists.
Nito = Cool design/Shit fight
and this is why I hate throthgar
Why is the gaping dragon #1? he wasn't even that fun of a fight, and where is the iron golem? he was the best boss in the game. AND WHY IS NITO AHEAD OF O/S
its all about how they look. superficialness is everything
woah cool, you replied instantly
Nito is terrible boss. Has invicible assisstents.
I hate that dragon hahaha
I ment black dragon
Kalameet? That was a cool fight, though.
for me by far gwyn is the best boss in any game also artorias is too edgy
ORNSTEIN GLORIOUS PLUME Artorias is not edgy. Wtf are u sayin
Unprecedented cheating cowardice 🤣🤣
First
Who cares
