I remember 2 times when Goku cry - when he meet Gohan at Uranai Baba's challenge, and when Tambourine killed Krillan. Moreover, in Dragon Ball, no one close to Goku ever died of old age - there was always some "object" to blame/take revenge on and there was often an option of resurrection, of course, but how would Goku behave if he lost someone very close to him due to... simply the death of this person due to old age or illness? How would he react to the death of Krillan, Yamcha, Bulma, Chichi, Gohan, Mr. Roshi, Vegeta or others? Or all of them? I think that Goku is the type who acts, but when an opponent comes who you can't even fight (due to illness or old age), Goku may feel very helpless and I imagine that he may even suffer from depression.
