It’s sickening that “tomboys “ no longer exist. I was a bit of a tomboy as a young girl. No where in my thought process did I ever think that I should have been born a boy!
As a feminist it makes me sad we went from "women and men can both work and parent their kids and also boys can like nice clothes and makeup and girls can be interested in science" which was supposed to allow people to be *themselves* regardless of how much they fulfilled gender stereotypes to apparently making people feel like if some of their behaviors and interests don't perfectly align with gender stereotypes, it's already gender dysphoria. The idea that a certain sex calls for certain behavior and interests and personality to such an extent that if yours deviate from those, you're not a real [insert sex/gender] and your body is the wrong one for you is just weird to me. Now that's not to say gender dysphoria doesn't exist. It does. It always has existed. But I feel like overall we're reinforcing gender stereotypes we had partly overcome.
Yeh but I do think the word tomboy is a bit cringe & outdated. when I think of tomboy i think of a certain type of girl, a certain way of dressing etc but not all masculine girls fit into this box. some masculine girls actually like to dress pretty while also having the masculine brain and way of thinking, interests etc
@@emmie599 Tomboy isn’t cringe at all. It defines a girl who enjoys activities, toys, clothes and shows that are usually directed towards boys. I find it more offensive when society finds old words as insulting or passé just because an older generation coined them.
Consider this: As a man in his 50s, I had to go through several doctor appointments, multiple diagnostic tests, and insurance approvals to have my diagnosis confirmed and approved for testosterone replacement therapy. Afterwards, I went through several months of close monitored medication and diagnostics before I was approved for home administration. I require semi-annual monitoring and recertification to get my prescription renewed. Helena, as a self-diagnosed transman, walked into a clinic and a hour later was on testosterone, unmonitored. Something in the medical industry isn't right with this picture.

The answer is in the question. In your case its about solving a problem, in her case its a bout creating a problem, why make it easyer to create a problem then to solve it? Answer i would say is money, no real surprise there i guess.. By allowing teens to transgender, they are creating broken lifelong patients that will need medication and support from the state for the REST OF THEIR LIVES. Who will pay for this lifelong "care"? that would be the taxpayers, where would the money go? to the medical complex (the same complex that are more then happily allow this to happen) Who will make sure the state pays for it all thru your taxpayer dollar? that would be mainly the democrats. Who will these state dependent lifelong broken individuals vote for? answer is democrats, the same ones that support all this. And BOOM the circle is complete. The only one thats not getting any help is the "transgender", who does need help, just not the help they are getting.
I am in my 60's and have asthma which is controlled with inhalers. I have an annual review with my GP. If I don't have the review then my GP will not renew my prescriptions. But some doctors will hand out hormones to young adults without any oversight!?
This same thing can apply for hysterectomies. Some 16 year old girl can get her ovaries removed just because she claims to be trans. Yet I, afully grown 26 year old women, has to be over 30, with two kids, and with a husbands permission, to get the same thing done. Hell, even women can have trouble getting birth control. It’s an insane world we live in.

When I was a kid I wanted to do boy things. No dolls, no dresses etc. My parents just went with the flow, “ok, she is a tomboy, big deal. I am still a person that doesn’t let stereotype behavior influence me. I am a woman that can use a chainsaw, and can put up fence for horses or fix the roof on my barn. I don’t consider these types of jobs male or female. They are just jobs that need to be done and I know I can do them. BUT if my childhood had been in today’s culture I could have been influenced to really screw up my body and my life.
Yes! To this day I enjoy my motorcycle, dirt biking, going to the gun range, building things as a hobby but I am a woman and I love my pretty dresses and heels, i can't imagine my parents telling me you must be a boy and never let me mature into the woman I am. That is terrifying !
Same!Always had boys as friends...loved physical activities. I am a mother of two now, and I still enjoy my once in a month adventure weekend. Helena is so brave to come out and share her fears and failings...but I think is is truly someone who has won in life.
I agree. I also feel identifying as a man or woman or even none when it comes to stereotypical gender behaviors, is pointless. If people ask me for my gender, I would say “man” yet I feel that whatever I identify as really doesn’t add much value, and so in conclusion, my gender is pointless and shouldn’t define my identity.
Im the same way & my older sister has always been jealous of my "friendships" w men & outgoing personality, riding dirt bikes, Harleys, flipping houses, designing Americas electrical grid, etc. I married young & have 2 kids. My sister said I "have gender confusion." No, I dont. Im an intelligent & capable hetro woman.
And for many boys and men those tomboys are HOT. I think especialy for men with more feminine characteristics. The balance of feminine and masculine is a topic I'm probing for some time now, largely because I have very feminine personaliuty traits, like nurturing, or passiveness, which is giving me a hard time in life, and in no way I would ever want to be a woman. I'm not even a frail skinny guy, that could be associated with this.
My English is far from perfect, so I’ll try to explain this as best as I can. When my daughter was 14 ( in 1999 which this style of trans was not in view as much as it is today) she was going more of a boy’s manners and dressing than a girl. One day she was standing in front of the sink to have a drink of water and she was all dressed as a boy as she was doing pretty often in the past weeks. Big floppy men’s pants and a plaid shirt. I went beside her and whispered to her “you know, you can act as a boy anytime you want in any situations that want you to be a boy, but you’re still a girl. So you can wear nice girl’s clothings, being girly and still do boy’s stuff whenever you feel like it. You are a beautiful girl and you can be a tomboy as much as you want whenever you want and still be that beautiful girl that you are“ That changed everything! Believe it or not, the following days she was a complet different kid. She would dress as a girl, she would act as a girl, everything as a girl! And whenever she had to go like on the four wheelers or hunting or whatever she felt like it, she would dress as the activity she was doing like any normal girls would do. I also explained to her that when I was her age and having seven brothers, I was feeling the same way as she was, and doing exactly what she was, but I still kept in mind that I was a girl and it was nice to be a girl!❤ Today, she’s 38 years old with a beautiful husband, 2 beautiful kids and a wonderful mom and she’s always the same… One day a nice beautiful sexy woman and in the next day she’s in her big men’s pants kind of, to do work around the house. So for you parents who are dealing with that kind of stuff, just talk to your kid and tell them this is normal. Explain to them that they can be both without changing anything but the important thing is to stay true to themselves

A combination of having autism, a difficult childhood, and then getting into an abusive relationship around the age of 17 where the guy even tried to kill me once... That messed me up mentally. I went to several therapists but none really gave proper trauma therapy. As a trauma response I started hating my body and femininity. Looking back, probably because my head warped into "I have been abused by a man, so all men are bad", which was then confirmed by websites like tumblr with a heavy feminist leaning, and turned into a form of self-destructive behaviour like "if I don't look like a girl anymore, men won't be attracted to me and I will be safe". And because therapy didn't help me I tried to find answers online, and looking for help about hating your own body & femininity quickly lead to finding transgender stuff. So I started to believe that if regular therapy didn't work, then maybe I was indeed transgender and that would be the solution to my depression and self-hating. What made me detransition was eventually understanding further down the transition path that I was stuck living a lie. I would never be a guy, be seen as one, and I felt like I was a bad actor instead of living my authentic self. And finding back God among the journey back helped too.
It’s amazing that we are in a place where the ruling class wants to hide stories like this. So sad. They are agents of Satan, and I hope more and more break away from them and find their way to the Truth
I was the biggest Tomboy. Very athletic, a late bloomer who thought maybe God should have made me a boy. All my friends liked guys and were interested in them a couple of years before I was. Thank goodness this trans stuff wasn't pushed back then or they likely would have dragged me into the guidance counselor office to undergo sexual identity dysphoria therapy. Thankfully today I am all woman and have 4 grown kids!
My sister was the same. Ppl mistook her for a boy most of the time because of her short hair and clothes. She would have been called trans for sure. She grew out of it around puberty and is a normal married woman now.
This this this, me as well. Always had more stereotypically masculine and/or nerdy interests, preferred the company of guys to girls (still do in many ways). I always had long hair, but lived in baggy jeans and oversized schlobby tops all through high school, and was all but allergic to the color pink. I was horribly awkward, puberty added a good 20 pounds before it fell off me again around age 20, and I straight up did not quite fit in. I hung with the guys, but was not one of them, stuck navigating their dynamics while harboring unrequited and unspoken crushes on guy friends, but I had negative interest in anything that the girls' cliques were doing or what seemed like constant "boy talk" in their orbits. Coming out of my teens I started to make peace with my body, and my "self" began to integrate a lot better. I was never not a girl, but darn those days are awkward! I shudder to think what would have happened to me if I'd been born ten or fifteen years later, finding "refuge" online, or being spotted by some theoretically well-intentioned school counselor and nudged down this path. Toxic, toxic stuff.
Same here. Never played with a doll in my life. Told my mom in third grade I wish I were a boy. Dressed boyish. No one ever made a big deal about it. I was just a tomboy. Puberty hit and all was fine. Got married young and have 6 children. Have loved every single minute of being a wife and mother. Had 4 boys first and it was great for them not to have a prissy, girly mom. My daughters are very feminine and very sensible.
My cousin had transitioned into a boy during high school. While we all supported her decision at the time, some of us were curious why such a urgent desire to do it now. Why not wait until adulthood? We found out that a few teachers and most students within that community pressured her into it. The reason, she didn't like the way her body looked. She was thinking of going to the gym at first, but was pulled aside by a teacher to speak about gender dysphoria. After transition, within a few months, she crashed hard. She came home crying and wanted out of school. She felt she couldn't detransition without being bullied by the trans community at the school. Her parents convinced her it would be okay, and if they are her friends, they will support her. It's exactly how she imagined it would go. She was reported as being transphobic, bigoted, suicidal. She had to speak with two school counselors to ensure she wasn't "talked out of it" by her own parents... After her parents discovered this, she was pulled out of said school immediately. Her parents sued the school when they also found out that everyone suggesting she transition, was not medically qualified, was not trained professionally, and the school did nothing to protect her. Those two teachers were fired. She's happy now, and started taking care of herself like she planned to.
Rejecting this gender ideology and detransitioning is what’s actually “stunning and brave.” There needs to be more firsthand accounts like this shared with the world.
Exactly. While I don't mind Jenner as a fellow human being, That Woman of the Year award should have be politely declined, no question. There was nowhere near enough outrage over that, and look where we are today with this nonsense in sports.
No what I say is brave is a plastic surgeon who has the balls to refuse to do gender reassignment surgeries. My wife’s a nurse for a plastic surgeon and the doc refuses to do those operations. He realizes he is missing out on a massive salary increase, but he wants no part of it and doesn’t want to force that crap on his staff either
Studies have shown in the past that A lot of trans people don’t become any happier after getting their surgeries. If anything they become more depressed and confused. That’s why that community has such high depression and suicide rates

When I was 28 I was placed on testosterone to treat a lump in my breast. Six months later the doctor offered me another six months even though the lump was diminished. During the entire treatment i literally became a very angry and emotionally unstable person, I hated myself I hated everything and everyone around me. I was going through a menopause which made everything unbearable ,I knew my personality changes were related to the testosterone treatment and once I finally finished the six month course I was looking forward to return to me again. It took years for me to feel normal again. I can’t imagine to keep receiving testosterone forever. Most kids are confused and without proper guidance they will be damaged for the rest of their lives. Those who push on children hormones of the opposite sex are criminals!
I was thinking as she was talking about that how men are socialized not to cry and women not to be angry, but if we just look at your story and hers; maybe men don't cry cuz testosterone.
I had PCOS and my testosterone was 200% of what a female should have. I had all kinds of male traits and once I had a hysterectomy I went back to being female. I always wonder why they don't try putting the females on female hormones first to see if this helps balance them.
This is what gender dysphoria feels like. Exactly what you experienced, and that's why kids and adults get on hormones. You need to imagine yourself as if you were being forced to be on testosterone from puberty for the rest of your life. All of that mental instability? All of that anger? Every change you hate just coming on unrelentingly? That's what trans people experience, and it's why they get medication. It helps them in the same way it helped you to not be on hormones.
huh interesting. see as a trans guy, testosterone MASSIVELY improved my emotional stability. i became less irritable, more social, I gained so much confidence. Yeah the testosterone definitely did increase my proneness to aggression but that's never bothered me or caused me any trouble, the only major difference is that being sad/angry used to make me wanna cry and now it makes me wanna punch things

And as far as the anger and stuff goes, I would probably be an angry mess if i didnt focus my extra energy into physical activities. I used to live on the internet and video games and i was a very angry young boy. It took a lifetime of being a male, to figure out how to actually be a well functioning male. You cant just take testosterone and turn into a functioning man. And even if some trans men do figure out how to control the emotions better, they're still not actually a man of course
Unfortunately, the people that need to hear her story don't generally watch or read the type of channels that will feature her. This type of thing should be on major news outlets nationwide, but we all know it won't. Props to her for speaking out anyways!
I hope she knows how important she is for truth to be heard for those young kids considering this transition. Politicians need to stop politicizing health, sexuality and gender. You don’t know the harm you are doing to children. I applauded this young woman sharing her story.
I totally agree. I really and truly want everyone to feel comfortable in your own skin- including crossing a gender. BUT. BUT. I truly believe it should not be attempted until the brain is more developed - which, based on the studies I have read, should be after 21 years old - preferably 25. Otherwise, all we are doing is hurting our kids. There are other ways to embrace the desire to be a different gender without hormones, or surgery. Helena had a different discussion where she outlined how a parent should connect with their child first on the issue, rather than focus on the Gender. Maybe it's the right answer, but get to the root problem FIRST - otherwise this situation could happen, and worse.
actually the opposite: most people who transition are trans, and for them its VITAL to transition (not physically but socially) as young as possible (only if they want ofc). its important to note that children arent getting anything irreversible done to them, only teenagers (in the later teens) and adults do. allowing children to transition will save the transgender children (that are the majority of the children transitioning) and wont harm the children that arent trant because all the changes are reversible (like name change, pronounce change, haircut and clothes change).
I'm a gay guy and I saw therapists for anxiety non-related to being gay. Two therapists I saw said they believe I'm transgender & my anxiety will go away if I transition. I'm not even a feminine gay guy, so no idea where they came up with this. One of them was hyper-focused on me being trans. He wanted me to make trans friends & go to trans groups. Every time I said no he would get frustrated that I'm just "internalizing transphobia" towards myself. I don't see therapists anymore.
You were clearly being "groomed". Sickening how they view any struggle or weakness as an opportunity to pounce on a person and convince them they're trans.
So I’ve never admitted this to anyone but, when I was a young girl I was a tomboy through and through. I hated girly things, dolls, makeup, girly clothes, I done manly things and fantasized about being a man and those thoughts of ‘not belonging’ followed me into my teenage years and often I would think man I wish I was a man, I would be so much happier. Fast forward to now, I am an adult woman and not only did I remain a woman and find happiness in myself, I fulfilled my god given purpose as a woman, I married, I am a mom now and am just so thankful I never tried to change my identity. I persevered in my faith until I found my belonging and thank god I had. I feel like it’s natural to wish you’re somebody else especially as a child, as we age we have to learn acceptance of ourselves as well as our bodies. We were created as men or women for a purpose and the first step to knowing what that purpose is is to embrace who we are and not who we think we would be. God knows what’s best for us and his understanding far outweighs our own
I went through the same thing as a kid. I hated girly things and I secretly wished I had been born a boy. Now as an adult woman, with kids, I'm so thankful that I was *never* pushed into the trans thing as a kid. I'm glad I'm a female.

Aw lol me too 😂 I hated my boobs when they first started to become noticeable. Thought I was going to cut them off! Thankfully this movement was unheard of back then! Now I have children that I have breastfed. Omg I can’t imagine what kids go thru with this trans stuff
I felt this exact same way. I had body dysmorphia and it was hard dealing with the fact that I was not a “typical” girl, always told myself I wished I was a boy. Thank god I grew out of it and am extremely happy with being a woman. Maybe a lot of us as young girls go through this

To put this beautiful, confused young woman through the hell that she experienced without even the slightest attempt to help her seek the psychological help she truly needed is absolutely immoral and should be criminal. The best thing I ever did was talk lovingly to my child when she told me she wanted her breasts removed and to be a Trans bi-sexual named "Sunny" at 10 yrs old. I told her about my own experience being called names in high school and that nobody at her age feels comfortable in their own skin and that it's normal to feel that way. I told her she is beautiful and that I will always love her no matter what she chooses but she was not old enough to make such a decision and I would not support it or participate. I also told her if she isn't old enough to be in a romantic relationship she isn't old enough to decide her sexual identity because being a trans bi-sexual is about more than just how she looks, identifies and presents. I told her not to decide who she is and then live her life, but to live her life, meet people, have experiences, fall in love as a young person and then decide who she wants to be. Coming at the situation without being preachy (that's hard for me being a devout LDS Christian) but with love and firmness saved my daughter. She is becoming a healthy, happy well adjusted young woman. My parents gave me a great example. They loved me through my own struggles and gave me a safe place to live and land, but they were firm in not supporting my bad behaviors. I pray and send love to any parent dealing with such a crisis. ❤
When my friend's daughter came to her wanting to transition, she said very calmly (as only the English can), "Well, you'll be a very short man, darling; probably get beaten up a lot." And that was the end of it.
She still did something disordered and evil, and should be punished for it. As a deterrent against others. Her crappy parents also should be punished, for allowing a 15 year old to spend enough time unmonitored on the internet to destroy themselves.

Much respect to this young woman. This is what actual courage looks like. Side Note - consider for a moment just how rational she appears to be. She is obviously bright and communicates well. All the hallmarks of a sound mind. That said, she was still pulled into a world of total irrationality. It speaks to the susceptibility of young minds to persuasion, the sheer complexity of the human condition, and the potential for us all to be led astray.
I was thinking how smart she talked and communicated too. She is attractive as well! (How surprising that she felt insecure about her sexuality!) Maybe when one gets to be very smart, one tends to have extra mental capacity for weird stuff if not using one’s mind in a more constructive way. And there are just too many predators out there to devour vulnerable young people. She’s going to become a very helpful resource for the trans issue, and other related issues too.
What’s even more crazy is those detransitioning are saying “why did no one warn us!” and we’re sitting here saying “we did, but we were called bigots and transphobic” I know so many teens who have said “I’m she/her” and then 6mo later say “I’m they/them” another 6mo and “I’m he/them” and it just continues. Just like she describes and the majority of those doing this are not popular kids, they’re those with few friends who are considered an outcast. I’m blessed my parents were not like these supportive parents letting children change as a child. As a child I told everyone I was a boy, wanted to be a boy. I didn’t want to wear dresses, I didn’t like makeup or girl toys. Never cared for them. I was literally text book gender identity disorder. When I hit puberty my grandma said “you’re a tomboy” and from then I understood the difference of boys and girls at that point. I didn’t start wearing more girly clothes till I was almost 23 years old. If grown adults transition and detransition then certainly children would too, but instead they’re being praised by their parents and their parent then identify as “parent of a trans child” and it puts this pressure on a child, they feel like they will then disappoint their parents if they change back. I am Jazz is a great example… now has gained weight and had many mental issues. He transitioned medically too, now has female parts. Will be much more difficult to transition back.
Well, Germany had the best education system in the world when Hitler came into power. They led the world in terms of a population that was highly educated, both in primary and secondary education. So, education level does therefore not necessarily protect one from manipulation or susceptibility to social manipulation.
Every time I hear these stories I think of my childhood. I'd cry myself to sleep wishing I was a boy. All my close relatives I grew up with were boys. I felt left out being the only girl in the family, is really the only thing I can think that made me feel that way. I loved trucks and mud and hated dresses. My mom even called me Jason once to someone because I was insisting I was a boy. But guess what? Its normal. And I lived. Now at 33, I could not imagine not being a woman. But I know if I was that same kid born these days instead of the 80s, I would very much be transitioned at this point. And that's terrifying. To think anyone would let a child who has only been alive for a few years make a life long decision, it's just scary.
Wow... I had almost the same experience. I was a hardcore tomboy when I was young and would cry myself to sleep wishing I was a boy too (especially when menstrual cramps were really bad) but like you, time passed, and i'm 30 now and so in love with my womanhood... thank God I wasnt a kid in this new age.
My exact experience. I insisted I was a boy Would cry because I wanted to be a boy . Wouldn’t wear dresses hated all “girl” toys But I grew out of it, puberty hit and it went away over night. I shudder to think of what would have a happened if adults called my 7 yr old self a “boy”

I'm a "cis-" man. I used to be into body-building. I experimented with testosterone pills I got online. After just a couple of weeks, I was an emotional wreck: fits of rage, intense sadness, etc. If 2 weeks of pills could do that to me, I can only imagine what the maximum dose of testosterone injections would do after 2 years.

Even i that have listen to many detransition stories, was taken aback with the many for me eyeopening moments from her story. I remember being sexually assaulted when I was 8 YO by a 40 YO man in front of my house, the more I think about it, he actually was following me when I was outside, he had attempted to r*pe me as well, he started touching me and I felt very confused and ngl, terrified so I pushed him and went inside. I was the only girl in my family, I felt so ashamed, didn't tell my mother and kept feeling afraid of going outside, I couldn't blame it on anything so I thought the reason was because that I was feminine and was a girl. Fast forward when I was 11, I was nearly kidnaped when I was coming from school, it actually broke me and I was crying and telling my mother about it, my older brother for some reason was mimicking me and making fun about it. After that, I stopped talking about anything related to it, again I felt ashamed that I was assaulted "it's all because I'm a girl" it accured to me, I was kind of traumatized and ashamed I couldn't bring myself to think about it. At that time, it didn't accure to me that boys and kids can face SA from men and women, I just blamed my gender. I started being a tomboy and started acting like a boy, talking like one and even keeping my hair in a boyish haircut, I don't know why but maybe it was like a defense mechanism? "Maybe if I looked like this nobody would hurt me" I thought to myself. Puberty was the worst, and I don't get how some adults defend their girls transitioning by saying they don't/won't feel confortable during puberty, I don't think any girl enjoyed having her first period up until now, no girl feels like "OMG, my period I'm excited" I was 10 when it happened and I hated my breasts, my friends were my age and kept commenting that it's weird, so I thought so as well. I've always told my mother that I wish I was a boy, and I don't like being a girl, I believe girls face gender dismorphia more than boys do but you get my point, it also gave me a lot of attention and I was creeped-out thinking now men would want to look at me like that and touch me more. Now, I love being a girl (except the period stuff ofc) and I feel like I'm embracing a big part of me. I learnt to confort myself and face my trauma and wrong beliefs. I just imagine if I was in nowadays America or so, it would have been a nightmare! Instead of facing my trauma and solving the main issue, I would have gone pass through the wrong path especially that they manipulate you into thinking I would be happier.

This is not a story of gender dysphoria; this is a story of a teen girl’s mental health struggles, internet indoctrination, and how our healthcare system absolutely failed her.
Failed her? You mean preyed upon her? They took her insurance companies money for her hormones, they would have taken the states money for surgery and any other money they could have pulled out of her and the system, they didn't fail her, they preyed upon her, the chewed her up and spat her out, and the only way they accept you is if you keep going, keep paying for hormones and other meds, keep paying for surgery to look more "normal" these people know what they are doing, and they are doing it for money, they don't give a FUCK about these kids.
I 100% identify with this. I had my "trans moment" through an online video game community over about 2-3 years of affirmation. Thankfully, I'm introspective enough that I was able to talk myself out of it eventually, but not before I'd gotten to the point that I was doing meaningful research and financial planning to get sex reassignment surgery (that I thankfully never actually got). Keep in mind, too... I *wasn't* a teenager... I was in my 30s at the time, and ostensibly should've been mature enough to know better. So if it can indoctrinate me, let's just say you need to keep a very close watch on your kids.
As a 16-17 year old I was having normal identity confusion, just trying to figure out who I was and where I stand as a budding older teenager/young adult. I was socially awkward, had body image issues, and terrible problems at home. One of my best friends/friends with benefits/exes (lmao she was all of those things at once) at the time was older, pansexual, autistic, and transgender. She saw my moment of confusion and latched onto it BIG TIME. She worked overtime every single day telling me that any little thing was me going through gender dysphoria and that being trans would fix all of my problems, even my disappointment in my home life. I was so convinced I started dressing like a dude and told my closest friends to call me a different name. And they did for about 2 weeks-a month. It felt scary and very very wrong for me. I didn’t feel like I was telling the truth to myself or others. So I quickly did a “jk just forget I said anything” and luckily dug myself out of it. Im 23 now and definitely a cis woman, comfortable in my skin. And terrified of the idea I could’ve defaced my body in a permanent way. I agree with you wholeheartedly, keep your babies close.
I'm 63. When I was in second grade, my best friend and I decided we wanted to be boys. Our teacher, a Catholic school nun, allowed us to sign " Frank" and " Joe" on our school papers. Our parents were aware of our decision as well. It lasted a few days, then we had a meeting in the woods. Not the " forrest" as it is often said theses days, just the plain old woods. We decide we liked playing Barbies and my friend had an easy bake oven, which we loved to play with. We voted to return to being girls. Thank God I was born in those times. The adults involved understood the mind of little children and let it run its course. God Bless this young girl.
Sadly part of the issue is “gender labeling” toys and interests. Why can’t you be a boy who likes to bake? A girl who likes to play in the woods? A girl who loves the color blue? This to me is part of the problem. Our society is increasingly labeling and gendering everything. Why would you need to be a boy in order to play in the woods with trucks? Kids who identify with this labeling would naturally lead them to think “hmm… blue is a boy color…my favorite color is blue..maybe I’m a boy” -instead of thinking “I guess I’m a girl who loves blue!”
My daughter told me last year that my 5 year old granddaughter said "when I grow up, I want to marry a girl bc girls are prettier." My daughter was like " ok!" And said to me" we wouldn't care if she was gay." Naturally, I DO care that she's gay, but I said " Kendell, she's 5. Little kids don't know what they're talking about." and left it there.

@@amyh3873 put down the ideology and take a biology class. Voice modulation is based in the length and thickness of the vocal chords. You don't know how high her voice was before testosterone. She sounds like she has a lower female voice, but I have heard men with a similar timbre that would be considered a high male voice. She was only on testosterone for a year and a half. So yeah, she doesn't look like Gabby from Brazil.

Not everyone sweeps these cases under the rug. Blaire White is a trans-woman happy with her transition, but she still features many detransitioned people on her channel who made the wrong choice. She did a video a couple of years ago featuring a woman named Elle, and it was heart-breaking. Helena retains her feminine appearance, thank goodness, but poor Elle grew an Adam's apple and has a male voice due to the effects of testosterone. Her body has changed and those feminine characteristics are gone forever.

You guys act like this is somehow new. I get trans issues, especially when you're dealing with very young children...is complicated. Any decisions made at young ages must be extremely well thought through, with psychiatrist, doctors, etc....but of course, you guys have to boil every complicated issue down to black and white terms like "it's a cult!" or "these kids are being brainwashed!".

This scares me. My child is transitioning from female to male. This mess all started when “she” was 15, and also on Tumblr. “They” are going through PP to get testosterone, and I can’t even begin to imagine how angry and raging they’re going to be. It makes me sad and my heart heavy. My once beautiful little blue eyed girl with the cute blonde pigtails is no more. 😞 I sincerely hope they know what they’re doing. I have been cut out of their life by their choice. They are also 28, and it’s been 2 years since I have heard their voice. The hardest thing was letting go, and not calling/texting them anymore. I hope they come back to me someday.

I always knew I was a tomboy but I felt attraction towards boys when I was in middle school. At the age of 21 I’ve started doing makeup, hair and dress up girly. It’s a process of life to get to know yourself before making choices off emotions.

it's sounds like to me many of these people aren't actually trans at all. they seem to just be jumping trends and by taking hormones means you're cool and part of the current thing. theirs been trans people for decades now and they actually have dysphoria and undergo surgeries and the whole ordeal to be who they truly feel they are and to fit it. a lot of these younger "trans" people just seem to think it's the popular thing to do and by injecting hormones, cutting your hair differently, and tapping things down means you've magically "transitioned". these kids are 100% being brainwashed into this insane ideology becasue it's axtually only a VERY small percentage of people who actually have legitimate gender dysphoria. our schools, social media, and this super pc progressive culture is failing a lot of these kids and it's sad and frustrating to watch
Limit her online time, too. My kids were only allowed to be online when I signed them on. Our computer was in the living room/ dining room area.... Not a bedroom. And just pay more attention to your daughter in general. Make sure you spend some one-on-one time with her several times/week. I spent quite a lot of time with my daughter And her friends, and she still ended up getting waylaid for a year. Of course we had daddy issues, too.... Absent alcoholic type things. What's frightening to me is the abundance of money backing this movement. Pharmaceutical companies, doctors, politicians, and nonprofits are raking in big bucks.

More than 50% of patients have to go in for a second, third sometimes fourth revision. Usually cosmetic, sometimes dangerously worse in the case of females getting phalloplasty and the possibilities of fistulas and infections. 100s of thousands of dollars in most cases for procedures that are A) cosmetic and elective B) in many cases still considered experimental and creating lifetime patients! Why is no one talking about this! So much of this is money motivated and highlights the many flaws in the US medical system. These surgeons doing experimental procedures with minimal oversight and insurance money lining their pockets.
It is amazing how the girls that feel the most insecure, shy, and isolated in their youth almost always grow into the most beautiful, strong, and intellectually & physically beautiful women in adulthood. Let me assure you that nobody knows who they are in high-school and very few figure it out in college. Allow yourself time to really figure things out. I’m a 63 yr old female, and as far back as I can remember I hated everything girly, dolls, dresses, pink.etc. I liked toy trucks and cars. I went to Catholic school and was forced to wear a skirt every day and loathed it. Every day for 8 years I loathed getting dressed. My nickname has been "George" for over 40 years because I hated my name, Colleen. Just hated it. The next dress I wore was when I got married at 29(to a man).And I hadn’t even wanted to wear a wedding dress, I got pushed into it by my mom and MiL. I haven’t worn a dress since, don’t wear makeup, never have worn heels in my life. (I wore Converse sneakers under my wedding dress😂) I’m still a female. I enjoy being a female. I had 2 children. Im glad trans surgery wasn’t a thing back then because it may have happened to me. I’m just a female who doesn’t like girly things. Yes, it’s called a tomboy ( but I never grew out of it) and it’s ok for girls to be tomboys, but I do feel bad because I’m sure there are many boys out there who like girly things and there’s no nice word for that. Just liking things that are supposed to be male, and disliking things that are thought to be female DOES NOT mean always you want to change your gender. Please be careful of what you wish for, in todays day and age it may come true.
Yes. It seems like if children do not like the stereotypical things that aligns with their assigned gender than they’re encouraged to make the switch. Maybe if we didn’t enforce gender stereotypes then kids would not think, “I don’t fit in this group, so that means I must transition to the opposite.”

I think it's okay to identify as gender non conforming. Though I really wonder; is there actually a "Normal?" At 60, I have friends who wouldn't leave the house without their faces "painted" as I call it. I look like a homeless person when I go out sometimes!

I used to wear frilly dresses while I played in the dirt with bugs. I liked boys' toys and girls' toys. I was a social outcast with a small group of equally unpopular friends.😅 I never once thought that I WASN'T a girl with interests in guys. Back when I was in school(90's-2002), those crazy ideologies were not shoved down our throats at every moment, so I was free to struggle with just a few issues. The teen years are hard enough without being brainwashed on top of all those insecurities. No wonder so many young people are getting into all this craziness. So heartbreaking! 💔
I was in school 🏫 back in those days too. There wasn’t much trans ideology back then, so if a 👩🏻 wanted to be a dude, she would at most just receive a big strap on 🐔 and men’s clothes as a 🎁. Chopping off body parts and taking hormones was uncommon.
i remember going through middle and high school and I noticed a culture where people assumed tomboys were lesbians, I imagine that was a stepping stone to how we got here.

Yeah, it’s to do with hearing your voice both outside and through the inside of your body, so what you hear yourself is a richer sound. I’ve had hundreds of conversations like this (I love to sing, so this comes up in conversations easily with other singers). I’m not sure I’ve ever met anyone who was totally comfortable with the sound of their recorded voice, especially their spoken voice. 😊👍

They say our sexuality is set in stone from birth just like your race and is thus beyond reproach, but you can also choose and change your gender/orientation at any time and that is also beyond reproach. "I feel like a woman." But they refuse to define what a woman is. I’ve read her story on internet and I agree with everything she said about Tumblr. I’ve been on Tumblr too and there are many people who think being straight and/or cis is boring or worse. Plus, it’s true that if you happen to be white, straight and cis you can’t talk about anything because you are an “oppressor”. Honestly, I have been called an “oppressor” just for being white and it was really frustrating.
It's quite a US-American way of thinking. The concept of race, skin colour and power is different across the world. A US-American teen who hasn't read more than two books deciding who and what is the oppressor is laughable.
Speaking as a parent desperately trying to help my daughter realize the truth. There is such a small pool of psychologists and psychiatrists, therapists of any kind really that speak the truth to these confused children and try to help them through it instead of catering to them. We have walked out of six now when they asked her preferred pronouns. I pulled her from her old high school when her guidance counselor called me and asked "what are you doing to aid and help him in his transition?" I couldn't believe it, I said "Absolutely nothing, if she was a drug addict I wouldn't take her to go score some heroin, if she was anorexic I wouldn't tell her she looks fat and should go vomit again, and if she was schizophrenic and thought she was a rooster I wouldn't let her crow on the roof." Needless to say she was outraged at me and cps was called on us. True story. I wish the liability was not so ridiculous for good therapists, these kids need real help, not an echo chamber. 😢

Unfortunately people who need to hear her aren’t hearing her. I saw an advertisement for a story on transgenders put out by 60 Minutes and the packet said they were asked by the people they interviewed not to include stories by de-transitioners because it is so rare and would make people not understand the transitioner. I think it’s more to do with how fragile their ideology is and that someone as smart and articulate as this girl could derail the entire narrative they were going for on that 60 Minutes segment.
My granddaughter was talked into being trans. Cut off ties with her mom about 8 yrs ago and me about 2. She is back to living as a female after realizing what who etc happened. Sad how easily our youth are toyed with and by strangers.

@@cactusmalone At 70 I am pretty tech savvy, had my first (kinda sorta) computer in the middle 80’s that I had to type lines and lines of code into so my kids could play pong 🤣. My parents sent me a Korean made Apple computer in 1988 when they were in South Korea with my mom’s Civilian Personnel job with the Air Force that my dad called a “crapple” 😂, practically no memory on the hard drive, but better than typing lines and lines of code into. Computers kept getting better and better, faster and faster, until now they are even in our phones and watches, and big tech companies have gotten better and better at using them to spy on and track you. I’ve used computers, email and phones for many years and know better than to click links in my email, to use a good anti-virus program, not to use google, and I don’t answer numbers on my phone I don’t know (who wants to hear from endless scammers about your almost expired car warranty), if it’s a legit call they’ll leave a message and I can determine if I really need to call them back. There are some people who as they’ve gotten older either weren’t interested in keeping up or never had the chance to learn or weren’t interesting in learning, but I think there are more in the older generations that have enough savvy on the phones and computers to keep safe than some of the younger generations like “John” realize. We all have experiences from our lives that add to who we are and as we get older we have more experiences to draw from, and anyone who thinks less of their elders because they are older thinking they must be stupid will miss out on a lot of experiences and wisdom they can pass on. I'm so glad people like her are finally coming out, a few years ago I thought I was the only person on Earth who suddenly stopped identifying as trans and it was just really embarrassing. I've had mental disorders (depression, anxiety and eating disorders) since I was around 12-13. I was also a tomboy and had no friends because every girl around me was more girly and I was rejected, because I wasn't like them. Just like Helena, as an isolated teenager I ended up on the Internet and found out about trans people on youtube. It was like a eureka moment: "I must be trans, that's why I hate my body, reject femininity etc". I started experiencing dysphoria (a perfect example of RODG) and binding (before I had body dysmorphia from anorexia and it literally turned into gender dysphoria). Luckily a few years later I started questioning myself, because being trans is honestly exhausting and it kept me even more isolated and was only making me more and more miserable (I pretty much felt like I was stuck between being male and female, constantly having problems because of how I looked etc). It was quite a few years ago and I had no idea that there were "detrans" people. I am so confused about that period of my life, I still find it insane that you can studdenly 100% start believing that you're a boy in a girl's body. At least now I understand that I was just a brainwashed teenager and I'm one of thousands of people who have experienced it and yet we "don't exist", "were never trans", "are stupid and didn't think the decision through". I'm still a member of a trans group on facebook and I see posts almost every day of teenage girls saying that they "discovered" that they are trans a month/6 months/a year ago, even though they never had any issues with their gender before
It's important to be absolutely sure about something like that. Far too often people start believing they are something without a proper diagnosis. Yes there are people out there that are that way but you should get reassurance and proper treatment by professionals before you dive head first in.

When puberty knocked at the door I had a surge of estrogens as well as testosterone as it sometimes happens to some boys and even grew a small pair of .).) I didn't thought much about that until our family doctor asked me not to and that it will go away all by itself as it actually did. Retrospectively I realize how it could have been easy for the doctor to push me into questioning my gender rather that reassuring me. I have a friend who is a lesbian and has short hair and dresses pretty masculine. She has gotten told by people that she needs to transition and that she obviously wants to be a male. She doesn’t. She says she’s just comfortable dressing in male clothes, and she likes having tits and being a girl. They tried to warp her mind, but she knows who she is. I think it’s funny that these people want to do away with gender norms, while simultaneously diagnosing people with gender dysphoria because they are dressing and acting differently than how their biological gender “should” act and dress. How does that make any sense????

@Kylie Armour I have a male friend who is as you describe and he is bisexual and chose not to tell his girlfriend - they have a child together. He grew up in an era (and area) where being gay was not tolerated. He is not attracted to men in the same way as women - i.e. there would have to be "something about the man" otherwise he feels no sexual attraction whatsoever. Maybe your friend doesn't want to deal with the assumption that he must be lusting after everyone he meets or that he must fancy his male friends etc. It's not easy being gay and being bisexual must be even harder.
Boys struggle also when puberty hits. I had a lot of female attention when I was a cute little child. It all vanished overnight. Suddenly no one found me cute or interesting or even important enough to listen to what I had to say. Even less about my struggles or pains. The only answer a guy gets is "come on, man up!" Meanwhile everyone was caring and gentle for the young girls out there. There was a period I wished I was not a boy. I was young an dump. But I was lucky enough it was before all that trans madness. Don't follow the crowd. There are manipulative people out there who make a lot of money from pushing youngsters into crazy behaviors.
Also a 15-year-old girl, I love Helena! I have also watched her interview with Ben Shapiro, which was also excellent. I feel so horrible that she was pushed into this by her social circle, but also so happy that she has found her true self. I'm praying for everyone who has similar trials.

Great that this interview happened. The stories of detransitioners and regretters are so important to expose this damaging cult and provide a window of empathy for those teens and children that have been sucked into it.
To hear her description of how internet societies that describe gender dysphoria as a symptom of just normal mid-teen angst about everything and through this peer-pressure altered her self-perception so dramatically is disturbing. The comment that the trans community doesn't react well to feelings of regret was surprising. So, this woman staggered through this whole period of her life almost completely alone and without the support we all need to function in a nominally rational manner. In the end, through honest communication with herself, she has become who she is meant to be, a lovely young woman who knows herself very very well - an adult woman. Reflecting on my journey into adulthood, and witnessing my two sons journeys, we all went through transitional periods where self-identity was being sorted out, for some the journey is less stressful than others. I am so grateful Helena made it and has told an abridged version of her journey. Deeply personal and revealing. Thank you so much!!
@Peter Johnston I agree, it is surprising that the trans community is less than supportive of those with regret. But when I started thinking about, I realized that Helena, by her own admission, suffered from massive mood swings as a side effect of testosterone....in addition to her own sort of self-loathing. This suggests that we have an entire community of people with unstable mood swings, who suffer from underlying mental instability on top of that. The combination of chemicals and mental instability may be why that community struggles to affirm views that are divergent from their own. They have a constant craving to justify their own decisions, and may see regret as personally invalidating.
Agree it’s really insidious drs are making money from mutilating childrens bodies. I was a Nurse for 50 years, hearing her say Nurses’s, Physician’s, PA’s and NP’s made everything easily accessible, makes me sick. No one listened to her when she decided she was not trans. I am also a registered nurse and I am happy to hear she found her true self. I don’t fully agree that all the health care professionals should be blamed. We were taught to advocate for patients, but also that the patients is always right. If we try to educate them to make a “better/different” choice we are crucified or sued. Unfortunately we love in a time where we have to walk on eggshells when working with patients. It’s all about service delivery and not quality hands on nursing care. I feel sorry for her and what she went through, but I also feel sorry for health care workers. 99% Of us are just trying our level best. A 18 year old is an adult and parents have no control over them. Nurses will have even less control in this new age where children have the right to identify as gender neutral.
@@kwezimey Actually it’s not our job in the medical profession to support or advocate for any particular life decision that maybe harmful to one’s health. It’s our job to assess the issue one is being seen for and treatment. For example, if a person decided to have unprotected sex and contracted an STD, you could hardly tell them to stop practicing unsafe sex since it’s completely lawful and a personal choice, but neither could the cause of the STD be ignored. It can be advised that safe sex would prevent the issue. Same with smoking. It can be explained that life expectancy is shortened in direct relationship to the smoking. But you can’t tell someone what decision to make for themselves. They must make it based on the information. In the same way, the medical professionals should have properly diagnosed the symptoms with the testosterone related cause. While they can’t tell her not to transition, if the hormones are the source of the issues, it needs to be acknowledged. From there, they can only advise that the issues will resume if she continues with the hormone treatment. Again, her choice with correct information. Just because a nurse or Dr. on a personal level “supports” a patient’s private life choice doesn’t mean it can be professionally denounced as a cause or source of symptoms. Everything about the system is being politicized. Very frustrating.

Just food for thought and seems many people aren’t aware of the fact that anti depressants produce identical behavior in teenagers as a side effect as well as gender dysphoria which is already a possibility of going through puberty so the two combinations significantly compound the effects of this influencing behavior and choices. The influence of the mental health medication on young people is mostly overlooked it’s many side effects and the percentage rate at which they’re occurring is not being offered or easily accessible to get through your own research.
To parents of children with aspergers or high functioning autism, they are also especially vulnerable to this social disease. Please be alert and aware for the well being of your children.
@@BasedZoomer Yeah, I'm autistic and have had gender dysphoria my whole life. It usually is a co-morbidity of other mental conditions even when it comes to the "true" cases. I'm glad I never "transitioned" though, because it would leave me permanently dependent on the pharmaceutical industry for the rest of my life, not to mention all the potential long-term health issues. I still have my mental health struggles, but I work through them just like any other adult. This new culture of unlimited validation and affirmation is extremely unhealthy, because it robs so many of the opportunities and ability to simply accept themselves for who they are. If anything, the constant need for external validation is a hallmark symptom of cluster B personality disorders, so I have no idea why it's so strongly encouraged and enabled now in the mainstream.

These girls are DECIDING these things at 15, 16, 17 years old - as a type of rebellion against normativity or self-esteem issues. That is NOT what transgender is. Never was. But we are seeing what this ideology does now. A 4000% spike in girls-wanting-to-be-boys in *just the last 10 years* That is NOT natural occurrence. That is contagion. Fake. This girl may have turned herself around... but most go all the way... and NONE OF THEM are transgender. We're only seeing the tip of the iceberg. I predict 95%+ of these transitioned people from 2019-present are NOT going to their graves at age 90, as still transgender people. The next 10-20 years is going to reveal this was a total contagion for most cases. Like REALLY most cases. Not a few... but the vast vast majority. There is going to be a hellish, destructive future coming in the trans community... sadly. The extremely rare "real" cases (that used to be 1 in 1000 people) will be all that's left, with pie in their faces, and a ton of blood on their hands - when they realize they should have gatekept that 4000% spike (40X additional cases over historical baseline).

Wow, this hits home. My sis has cut herself off from my fam bec she thinks she’s a trans man. She was always into jewelry and makeup and had crushes on boys, but she was also overweight and bullied in school with no friends. She found solace on tumbler as well and went through the labels. First she decided she was asexual, my parents accepted her bec they loved her. Then lesbian, same story. Then non binary, same, then she cut us off and decided she was trans. It has now been 3 years. I hope with all my heart that she comes to the same conclusion as this woman and that she hasn’t done any irreversible damage
Talk to her man try to understand her, she is your sister. I don't know about your culture but in our Indian culture brother sister bond (assuming you're a boy by the way you wrote this thing) is very sacred and we are very protective of our sisters. I would never give up on my loved one.

And I recently found out through mutual friends that she has done irreversible damage to herself. She got top surgery and is now on testosterone unfortunately. I still hope she finds her way back to herself, but she will never be the same

I was a woman like that and also my female cousin is like that currently. We just have to accept that everyone’s personality is different and we have varying levels of masculine/feminine traits and interests. 14:14 what I find remarkable and very alarming to say the least, is how easy this process was for her. I have struggled with erectile dysfunction for years due partially to low testosterone and I wasn't able to get hormone injections. I had to pay thousands of dollars in medical bills seeing doctors, trying to determine the best course of action. I was told that testosterone replacement therapy was the last option I should consider. But a girl, who is barely an adult can walk into a clinic and after an hour be given these injections? This is just absolute madness.
I hope you've found your help, but for me it worked with occasional testosterone boost, these are the herbs with needed chemicals that boost testosterone production, in capsules, with needed minerals and vitamins that help with absorption. I recommend to take it with vitamin C.
@@tomazkavsek236 I've got doctors that I've been working with this on. The only point I was trying to make is that it's so much easier for people with gender dysphoria to get hormone injections without really getting the proper medical consultation that should be required.
Id say you were probably looking for a permanent solution to you ED problem, testosterone replacement therapy could solve your issue but its temporary, once the testosterone stops the issue would come back so I assume the doctors were looking for a more permanent solution for you, still sucks though. As far as the law cares she's an adult now and the place she went was an informed consent clinic. She can just as easily walk in to a gun store and buy a hand gun, go to a bank and get credit cards, buy a car she cant pay for, get a loan. All these things that are fine for adults to do when treated with the respect and caution they disserve but if they are misused they can cause harm, just like hormones. They informed her of the risks and it was up to her to pursue it or not. If 18 is too young for an adult to make a decision about their own health then yeah we need to rework some things.
as a 14 year old boy i see this happen a lot to girls my age and it's just heartbreaking knowing that they have been manipulated in this way, and it so common now, it's just horrible

I’m a trans kid who realized I was trans a good 3-4 years ago. I’m fully against children transitioning because of how genuinely detrimental it is to your health. No matter how much I want testosterone, I’m going to wait until I’m 20+ to get any because my body is still developing. Most I’m getting now is birth control that stops my period, which I woulda gotten if I wasn’t trans anyways because of how shitty my periods are. I don’t understand why we’re allowed to do things so young when we’re naive and gullible. It’s so dangerous and has lifelong affects that you could seriously regret.
It’s sickening that “tomboys “ no longer exist. I was a bit of a tomboy as a young girl. No where in my thought process did I ever think that I should have been born a boy!
As a feminist it makes me sad we went from "women and men can both work and parent their kids and also boys can like nice clothes and makeup and girls can be interested in science" which was supposed to allow people to be *themselves* regardless of how much they fulfilled gender stereotypes to apparently making people feel like if some of their behaviors and interests don't perfectly align with gender stereotypes, it's already gender dysphoria. The idea that a certain sex calls for certain behavior and interests and personality to such an extent that if yours deviate from those, you're not a real [insert sex/gender] and your body is the wrong one for you is just weird to me. Now that's not to say gender dysphoria doesn't exist. It does. It always has existed. But I feel like overall we're reinforcing gender stereotypes we had partly overcome.

Yeh but I do think the word tomboy is a bit cringe & outdated. when I think of tomboy i think of a certain type of girl, a certain way of dressing etc but not all masculine girls fit into this box. some masculine girls actually like to dress pretty while also having the masculine brain and way of thinking, interests etc
@@emmie599 Tomboy isn’t cringe at all. It defines a girl who enjoys activities, toys, clothes and shows that are usually directed towards boys. I find it more offensive when society finds old words as insulting or passé just because an older generation coined them.

As a man in his 50s, I had to go through several doctor appointments, multiple diagnostic tests, and insurance approvals to have my diagnosis confirmed and approved for testosterone replacement therapy. Afterwards, I went through several months of close monitored medication and diagnostics before I was approved for home administration. I require semi-annual monitoring and recertification to get my prescription renewed.
Helena, as a self-diagnosed transman, walked into a clinic and a hour later was on testosterone, unmonitored.

By allowing teens to transgender, they are creating broken lifelong patients that will need medication and support from the state for the REST OF THEIR LIVES.
Who will pay for this lifelong "care"? that would be the taxpayers, where would the money go? to the medical complex (the same complex that are more then happily allow this to happen)
Who will make sure the state pays for it all thru your taxpayer dollar? that would be mainly the democrats.

I am in my 60's and have asthma which is controlled with inhalers. I have an annual review with my GP. If I don't have the review then my GP will not renew my prescriptions. But some doctors will hand out hormones to young adults without any oversight!?
This same thing can apply for hysterectomies. Some 16 year old girl can get her ovaries removed just because she claims to be trans. Yet I, afully grown 26 year old women, has to be over 30, with two kids, and with a husbands permission, to get the same thing done. Hell, even women can have trouble getting birth control. It’s an insane world we live in.

When I was a kid I wanted to do boy things. No dolls, no dresses etc. My parents just went with the flow, “ok, she is a tomboy, big deal. I am still a person that doesn’t let stereotype behavior influence me. I am a woman that can use a chainsaw, and can put up fence for horses or fix the roof on my barn. I don’t consider these types of jobs male or female. They are just jobs that need to be done and I know I can do them. BUT if my childhood had been in today’s culture I could have been influenced to really screw up my body and my life.
Yes! To this day I enjoy my motorcycle, dirt biking, going to the gun range, building things as a hobby but I am a woman and I love my pretty dresses and heels, i can't imagine my parents telling me you must be a boy and never let me mature into the woman I am. That is terrifying !

I agree. I also feel identifying as a man or woman or even none when it comes to stereotypical gender behaviors, is pointless. If people ask me for my gender, I would say “man” yet I feel that whatever I identify as really doesn’t add much value, and so in conclusion, my gender is pointless and shouldn’t define my identity.
Im the same way & my older sister has always been jealous of my "friendships" w men & outgoing personality, riding dirt bikes, Harleys, flipping houses, designing Americas electrical grid, etc. I married young & have 2 kids. My sister said I "have gender confusion." No, I dont. Im an intelligent & capable hetro woman.
And for many boys and men those tomboys are HOT. I think especialy for men with more feminine characteristics. The balance of feminine and masculine is a topic I'm probing for some time now, largely because I have very feminine personaliuty traits, like nurturing, or passiveness, which is giving me a hard time in life, and in no way I would ever want to be a woman. I'm not even a frail skinny guy, that could be associated with this.
My English is far from perfect, so I’ll try to explain this as best as I can.
When my daughter was 14 ( in 1999 which this style of trans was not in view as much as it is today) she was going more of a boy’s manners and dressing than a girl. One day she was standing in front of the sink to have a drink of water and she was all dressed as a boy as she was doing pretty often in the past weeks. Big floppy men’s pants and a plaid shirt. I went beside her and whispered to her “you know, you can act as a boy anytime you want in any situations that want you to be a boy, but you’re still a girl. So you can wear nice girl’s clothings, being girly and still do boy’s stuff whenever you feel like it. You are a beautiful girl and you can be a tomboy as much as you want whenever you want and still be that beautiful girl that you are“
That changed everything! Believe it or not, the following days she was a complet different kid. She would dress as a girl, she would act as a girl, everything as a girl! And whenever she had to go like on the four wheelers or hunting or whatever she felt like it, she would dress as the activity she was doing like any normal girls would do. I also explained to her that when I was her age and having seven brothers, I was feeling the same way as she was, and doing exactly what she was, but I still kept in mind that I was a girl and it was nice to be a girl!❤
Today, she’s 38 years old with a beautiful husband, 2 beautiful kids and a wonderful mom and she’s always the same… One day a nice beautiful sexy woman and in the next day she’s in her big men’s pants kind of, to do work around the house.
So for you parents who are dealing with that kind of stuff, just talk to your kid and tell them this is normal. Explain to them that they can be both without changing anything but the important thing is to stay true to themselves

A combination of having autism, a difficult childhood, and then getting into an abusive relationship around the age of 17 where the guy even tried to kill me once... That messed me up mentally. I went to several therapists but none really gave proper trauma therapy. As a trauma response I started hating my body and femininity. Looking back, probably because my head warped into "I have been abused by a man, so all men are bad", which was then confirmed by websites like tumblr with a heavy feminist leaning, and turned into a form of self-destructive behaviour like "if I don't look like a girl anymore, men won't be attracted to me and I will be safe". And because therapy didn't help me I tried to find answers online, and looking for help about hating your own body & femininity quickly lead to finding transgender stuff. So I started to believe that if regular therapy didn't work, then maybe I was indeed transgender and that would be the solution to my depression and self-hating.
What made me detransition was eventually understanding further down the transition path that I was stuck living a lie. I would never be a guy, be seen as one, and I felt like I was a bad actor instead of living my authentic self. And finding back God among the journey back helped too.

I was the biggest Tomboy. Very athletic, a late bloomer who thought maybe God should have made me a boy. All my friends liked guys and were interested in them a couple of years before I was. Thank goodness this trans stuff wasn't pushed back then or they likely would have dragged me into the guidance counselor office to undergo sexual identity dysphoria therapy. Thankfully today I am all woman and have 4 grown kids!
My sister was the same. Ppl mistook her for a boy most of the time because of her short hair and clothes. She would have been called trans for sure. She grew out of it around puberty and is a normal married woman now.
This this this, me as well. Always had more stereotypically masculine and/or nerdy interests, preferred the company of guys to girls (still do in many ways). I always had long hair, but lived in baggy jeans and oversized schlobby tops all through high school, and was all but allergic to the color pink. I was horribly awkward, puberty added a good 20 pounds before it fell off me again around age 20, and I straight up did not quite fit in. I hung with the guys, but was not one of them, stuck navigating their dynamics while harboring unrequited and unspoken crushes on guy friends, but I had negative interest in anything that the girls' cliques were doing or what seemed like constant "boy talk" in their orbits. Coming out of my teens I started to make peace with my body, and my "self" began to integrate a lot better. I was never not a girl, but darn those days are awkward! I shudder to think what would have happened to me if I'd been born ten or fifteen years later, finding "refuge" online, or being spotted by some theoretically well-intentioned school counselor and nudged down this path. Toxic, toxic stuff.

Same here. Never played with a doll in my life. Told my mom in third grade I wish I were a boy. Dressed boyish. No one ever made a big deal about it. I was just a tomboy. Puberty hit and all was fine. Got married young and have 6 children. Have loved every single minute of being a wife and mother. Had 4 boys first and it was great for them not to have a prissy, girly mom. My daughters are very feminine and very sensible.
She went from hating her own voice to finding it and using it to help others! Good for her!
My cousin had transitioned into a boy during high school. While we all supported her decision at the time, some of us were curious why such a urgent desire to do it now. Why not wait until adulthood? We found out that a few teachers and most students within that community pressured her into it. The reason, she didn't like the way her body looked. She was thinking of going to the gym at first, but was pulled aside by a teacher to speak about gender dysphoria.
After transition, within a few months, she crashed hard. She came home crying and wanted out of school. She felt she couldn't detransition without being bullied by the trans community at the school. Her parents convinced her it would be okay, and if they are her friends, they will support her. It's exactly how she imagined it would go. She was reported as being transphobic, bigoted, suicidal. She had to speak with two school counselors to ensure she wasn't "talked out of it" by her own parents...
After her parents discovered this, she was pulled out of said school immediately. Her parents sued the school when they also found out that everyone suggesting she transition, was not medically qualified, was not trained professionally, and the school did nothing to protect her. Those two teachers were fired. She's happy now, and started taking care of herself like she planned to.

No what I say is brave is a plastic surgeon who has the balls to refuse to do gender reassignment surgeries. My wife’s a nurse for a plastic surgeon and the doc refuses to do those operations. He realizes he is missing out on a massive salary increase, but he wants no part of it and doesn’t want to force that crap on his staff either

Studies have shown in the past that A lot of trans people don’t become any happier after getting their surgeries. If anything they become more depressed and confused. That’s why that community has such high depression and suicide rates

When I was 28 I was placed on testosterone to treat a lump in my breast. Six months later the doctor offered me another six months even though the lump was diminished. During the entire treatment i literally became a very angry and emotionally unstable person, I hated myself I hated everything and everyone around me. I was going through a menopause which made everything unbearable ,I knew my personality changes were related to the testosterone treatment and once I finally finished the six month course I was looking forward to return to me again. It took years for me to feel normal again. I can’t imagine to keep receiving testosterone forever. Most kids are confused and without proper guidance they will be damaged for the rest of their lives. Those who push on children hormones of the opposite sex are criminals!
I was thinking as she was talking about that how men are socialized not to cry and women not to be angry, but if we just look at your story and hers; maybe men don't cry cuz testosterone.
I had PCOS and my testosterone was 200% of what a female should have. I had all kinds of male traits and once I had a hysterectomy I went back to being female. I always wonder why they don't try putting the females on female hormones first to see if this helps balance them.
This is what gender dysphoria feels like. Exactly what you experienced, and that's why kids and adults get on hormones. You need to imagine yourself as if you were being forced to be on testosterone from puberty for the rest of your life. All of that mental instability? All of that anger? Every change you hate just coming on unrelentingly? That's what trans people experience, and it's why they get medication. It helps them in the same way it helped you to not be on hormones.
huh interesting. see as a trans guy, testosterone MASSIVELY improved my emotional stability. i became less irritable, more social, I gained so much confidence. Yeah the testosterone definitely did increase my proneness to aggression but that's never bothered me or caused me any trouble, the only major difference is that being sad/angry used to make me wanna cry and now it makes me wanna punch things

And as far as the anger and stuff goes, I would probably be an angry mess if i didnt focus my extra energy into physical activities. I used to live on the internet and video games and i was a very angry young boy. It took a lifetime of being a male, to figure out how to actually be a well functioning male. You cant just take testosterone and turn into a functioning man. And even if some trans men do figure out how to control the emotions better, they're still not actually a man of course

I hope she knows how important she is for truth to be heard for those young kids considering this transition. Politicians need to stop politicizing health, sexuality and gender. You don’t know the harm you are doing to children. I applauded this young woman sharing her story.
I totally agree. I really and truly want everyone to feel comfortable in your own skin- including crossing a gender. BUT. BUT. I truly believe it should not be attempted until the brain is more developed - which, based on the studies I have read, should be after 21 years old - preferably 25. Otherwise, all we are doing is hurting our kids. There are other ways to embrace the desire to be a different gender without hormones, or surgery. Helena had a different discussion where she outlined how a parent should connect with their child first on the issue, rather than focus on the Gender. Maybe it's the right answer, but get to the root problem FIRST - otherwise this situation could happen, and worse.

actually the opposite: most people who transition are trans, and for them its VITAL to transition (not physically but socially) as young as possible (only if they want ofc). its important to note that children arent getting anything irreversible done to them, only teenagers (in the later teens) and adults do.
allowing children to transition will save the transgender children (that are the majority of the children transitioning) and wont harm the children that arent trant because all the changes are reversible (like name change, pronounce change, haircut and clothes change).
I'm a gay guy and I saw therapists for anxiety non-related to being gay. Two therapists I saw said they believe I'm transgender & my anxiety will go away if I transition. I'm not even a feminine gay guy, so no idea where they came up with this.
One of them was hyper-focused on me being trans. He wanted me to make trans friends & go to trans groups. Every time I said no he would get frustrated that I'm just "internalizing transphobia" towards myself. I don't see therapists anymore.
You were clearly being "groomed". Sickening how they view any struggle or weakness as an opportunity to pounce on a person and convince them they're trans.
Maybe not seeing therapists isn't the best idea, but making sure the therapist is trustworthy might be a better lesson to have taken lol

So I’ve never admitted this to anyone but, when I was a young girl I was a tomboy through and through. I hated girly things, dolls, makeup, girly clothes, I done manly things and fantasized about being a man and those thoughts of ‘not belonging’ followed me into my teenage years and often I would think man I wish I was a man, I would be so much happier. Fast forward to now, I am an adult woman and not only did I remain a woman and find happiness in myself, I fulfilled my god given purpose as a woman, I married, I am a mom now and am just so thankful I never tried to change my identity. I persevered in my faith until I found my belonging and thank god I had. I feel like it’s natural to wish you’re somebody else especially as a child, as we age we have to learn acceptance of ourselves as well as our bodies. We were created as men or women for a purpose and the first step to knowing what that purpose is is to embrace who we are and not who we think we would be. God knows what’s best for us and his understanding far outweighs our own
I went through the same thing as a kid. I hated girly things and I secretly wished I had been born a boy. Now as an adult woman, with kids, I'm so thankful that I was *never* pushed into the trans thing as a kid. I'm glad I'm a female.

I felt this exact same way. I had body dysmorphia and it was hard dealing with the fact that I was not a “typical” girl, always told myself I wished I was a boy. Thank god I grew out of it and am extremely happy with being a woman. Maybe a lot of us as young girls go through this

The best thing I ever did was talk lovingly to my child when she told me she wanted her breasts removed and to be a Trans bi-sexual named "Sunny" at 10 yrs old. I told her about my own experience being called names in high school and that nobody at her age feels comfortable in their own skin and that it's normal to feel that way. I told her she is beautiful and that I will always love her no matter what she chooses but she was not old enough to make such a decision and I would not support it or participate. I also told her if she isn't old enough to be in a romantic relationship she isn't old enough to decide her sexual identity because being a trans bi-sexual is about more than just how she looks, identifies and presents. I told her not to decide who she is and then live her life, but to live her life, meet people, have experiences, fall in love as a young person and then decide who she wants to be. Coming at the situation without being preachy (that's hard for me being a devout LDS Christian) but with love and firmness saved my daughter. She is becoming a healthy, happy well adjusted young woman. My parents gave me a great example. They loved me through my own struggles and gave me a safe place to live and land, but they were firm in not supporting my bad behaviors. I pray and send love to any parent dealing with such a crisis. ❤

I was thinking how smart she talked and communicated too. She is attractive as well! (How surprising that she felt insecure about her sexuality!) Maybe when one gets to be very smart, one tends to have extra mental capacity for weird stuff if not using one’s mind in a more constructive way. What’s even more crazy is those detransitioning are saying “why did no one warn us!” and we’re sitting here saying “we did, but we were called bigots and transphobic” I know so many teens who have said “I’m she/her” and then 6mo later say “I’m they/them” another 6mo and “I’m he/them” and it just continues. Just like she describes and the majority of those doing this are not popular kids, they’re those with few friends who are considered an outcast. I’m blessed my parents were not like these supportive parents letting children change as a child. As a child I told everyone I was a boy, wanted to be a boy. I didn’t want to wear dresses, I didn’t like makeup or girl toys. Never cared for them. I was literally text book gender identity disorder. When I hit puberty my grandma said “you’re a tomboy” and from then I understood the difference of boys and girls at that point. I didn’t start wearing more girly clothes till I was almost 23 years old. If grown adults transition and detransition then certainly children would too, but instead they’re being praised by their parents and their parent then identify as “parent of a trans child” and it puts this pressure on a child, they feel like they will then disappoint their parents if they change back. I am Jazz is a great example… now has gained weight and had many mental issues. He transitioned medically too, now has female parts. Will be much more difficult to transition back.
Well, Germany had the best education system in the world when Hitler came into power. They led the world in terms of a population that was highly educated, both in primary and secondary education. So, education level does therefore not necessarily protect one from manipulation or susceptibility to social manipulation.
Every time I hear these stories I think of my childhood. I'd cry myself to sleep wishing I was a boy. All my close relatives I grew up with were boys. I felt left out being the only girl in the family, is really the only thing I can think that made me feel that way. I loved trucks and mud and hated dresses. My mom even called me Jason once to someone because I was insisting I was a boy. But guess what? Its normal. And I lived. Now at 33, I could not imagine not being a woman. But I know if I was that same kid born these days instead of the 80s, I would very much be transitioned at this point. And that's terrifying. To think anyone would let a child who has only been alive for a few years make a life long decision, it's just scary.

After just a couple of weeks, I was an emotional wreck: fits of rage, intense sadness, etc. If 2 weeks of pills could do that to me, I can only imagine what the maximum dose of testosterone injections would do after 2 years.

I remember being sexually assaulted when I was 8 YO by a 40 YO man in front of my house, the more I think about it, he actually was following me when I was outside, he had attempted to r*pe me as well, he started touching me and I felt very confused and ngl, terrified so I pushed him and went inside.
I was the only girl in my family, I felt so ashamed, didn't tell my mother and kept feeling afraid of going outside, I couldn't blame it on anything so I thought the reason was because that I was feminine and was a girl.
Fast forward when I was 11, I was nearly kidnaped when I was coming from school, it actually broke me and I was crying and telling my mother about it, my older brother for some reason was mimicking me and making fun about it.
After that, I stopped talking about anything related to it, again I felt ashamed that I was assaulted "it's all because I'm a girl" it accured to me, I was kind of traumatized and ashamed I couldn't bring myself to think about it. At that time, it didn't accure to me that boys and kids can face SA from men and women, I just blamed my gender.
I started being a tomboy and started acting like a boy, talking like one and even keeping my hair in a boyish haircut, I don't know why but maybe it was like a defense mechanism? "Maybe if I looked like this nobody would hurt me" I thought to myself.
Puberty was the worst, and I don't get how some adults defend their girls transitioning by saying they don't/won't feel confortable during puberty, I don't think any girl enjoyed having her first period up until now, no girl feels like "OMG, my period I'm excited" I was 10 when it happened and I hated my breasts, my friends were my age and kept commenting that it's weird, so I thought so as well.
I've always told my mother that I wish I was a boy, and I don't like being a girl, I believe girls face gender dismorphia more than boys do but you get my point, it also gave me a lot of attention and I was creeped-out thinking now men would want to look at me like that and touch me more.
Now, I love being a girl (except the period stuff ofc) and I feel like I'm embracing a big part of me. I learnt to confort myself and face my trauma and wrong beliefs.
I just imagine if I was in nowadays America or so, it would have been a nightmare! Instead of facing my trauma and solving the main issue, I would have gone pass through the wrong path especially that they manipulate you into thinking I would be happier.

I 100% identify with this. I had my "trans moment" through an online video game community over about 2-3 years of affirmation. Thankfully, I'm introspective enough that I was able to talk myself out of it eventually, but not before I'd gotten to the point that I was doing meaningful research and financial planning to get sex reassignment surgery (that I thankfully never actually got). Keep in mind, too... I *wasn't* a teenager... I was in my 30s at the time, and ostensibly should've been mature enough to know better. So if it can indoctrinate me, let's just say you need to keep a very close watch on your kids.

As a 16-17 year old I was having normal identity confusion, just trying to figure out who I was and where I stand as a budding older teenager/young adult. I was socially awkward, had body image issues, and terrible problems at home. One of my best friends/friends with benefits/exes (lmao she was all of those things at once) at the time was older, pansexual, autistic, and transgender. She saw my moment of confusion and latched onto it BIG TIME. She worked overtime every single day telling me that any little thing was me going through gender dysphoria and that being trans would fix all of my problems, even my disappointment in my home life. I was so convinced I started dressing like a dude and told my closest friends to call me a different name. And they did for about 2 weeks-a month. It felt scary and very very wrong for me. I didn’t feel like I was telling the truth to myself or others. So I quickly did a “jk just forget I said anything” and luckily dug myself out of it. Im 23 now and definitely a cis woman, comfortable in my skin. And terrified of the idea I could’ve defaced my body in a permanent way. I agree with you wholeheartedly, keep your babies close.

I'm 63. When I was in second grade, my best friend and I decided we wanted to be boys. Our teacher, a Catholic school nun, allowed us to sign " Frank" and " Joe" on our school papers. Our parents were aware of our decision as well. It lasted a few days, then we had a meeting in the woods. Not the " forrest" as it is often said theses days, just the plain old woods. We decide we liked playing Barbies and my friend had an easy bake oven, which we loved to play with. We voted to return to being girls. Thank God I was born in those times. The adults involved understood the mind of little children and let it run its course. God Bless this young girl.
Sadly part of the issue is “gender labeling” toys and interests. Why can’t you be a boy who likes to bake? A girl who likes to play in the woods? A girl who loves the color blue? This to me is part of the problem. Our society is increasingly labeling and gendering everything. Why would you need to be a boy in order to play in the woods with trucks? Kids who identify with this labeling would naturally lead them to think “hmm… blue is a boy color…my favorite color is blue..maybe I’m a boy” -instead of thinking “I guess I’m a girl who loves blue!”

Not everyone sweeps these cases under the rug. Blaire White is a trans-woman happy with her transition, but she still features many detransitioned people on her channel who made the wrong choice. She did a video a couple of years ago featuring a woman named Elle, and it was heart-breaking. Helena retains her feminine appearance, thank goodness, but poor Elle grew an Adam's apple and has a male voice due to the effects of testosterone. Her body has changed and those feminine characteristics are gone forever.

You guys act like this is somehow new. I get trans issues, especially when you're dealing with very young children...is complicated. And just pay more attention to your daughter in general. Make sure you spend some one-on-one time with her several times/week. I spent quite a lot of time with my daughter And her friends, and she still ended up getting waylaid for a year. Of course we had daddy issues, too.... Absent alcoholic type things.

More than 50% of patients have to go in for a second, third sometimes fourth revision. Usually cosmetic, sometimes dangerously worse in the case of females getting phalloplasty and the possibilities of fistulas and infections. 100s of thousands of dollars in most cases for procedures that are A) cosmetic and elective B) in many cases still considered experimental and creating lifetime patients! Why is no one talking about this! So much of this is money motivated and highlights the many flaws in the US medical system. These surgeons doing experimental procedures with minimal oversight and insurance money lining their pockets.

I’m a 63 yr old female, and as far back as I can remember I hated everything girly, dolls, dresses, pink.etc. I liked toy trucks and cars. I went to Catholic school and was forced to wear a skirt every day and loathed it. Every day for 8 years I loathed getting dressed. My nickname has been "George" for over 40 years because I hated my name, Colleen. Just hated it. The next dress I wore was when I got married at 29(to a man).And I hadn’t even wanted to wear a wedding dress, I got pushed into it by my mom and MiL. I haven’t worn a dress since, don’t wear makeup, never have worn heels in my life. (I wore Converse sneakers under my wedding dress😂)
I’m still a female. I enjoy being a female. I had 2 children. Im glad trans surgery wasn’t a thing back then because it may have happened to me. I’m just a female who doesn’t like girly things. Yes, it’s called a tomboy ( but I never grew out of it) and it’s ok for girls to be tomboys, but I do feel bad because I’m sure there are many boys out there who like girly things and there’s no nice word for that.
Just liking things that are supposed to be male, and disliking things that are thought to be female DOES NOT mean always you want to change your gender. Please be careful of what you wish for, in todays day and age it may come true.
Yes. It seems like if children do not like the stereotypical things that aligns with their assigned gender than they’re encouraged to make the switch. Maybe if we didn’t enforce gender stereotypes then kids would not think, “I don’t fit in this group, so that means I must transition to the opposite.”

I was a social outcast with a small group of equally unpopular friends.😅 I never once thought that I WASN'T a girl with interests in guys. Back when I was in school(90's-2002), those crazy ideologies were not shoved down our throats at every moment, so I was free to struggle with just a few issues. My sister is a psychologist and she refuses to see transgender patients because of the liabilities for hurting feelings that lead to lawsuits.
Speaking as a parent desperately trying to help my daughter realize the truth. There is such a small pool of psychologists and psychiatrists, therapists of any kind really that speak the truth to these confused children and try to help them through it instead of catering to them. We have walked out of six now when they asked her preferred pronouns. I pulled her from her old high school when her guidance counselor called me and asked "what are you doing to aid and help him in his transition?" I couldn't believe it, I said "Absolutely nothing, if she was a drug addict I wouldn't take her to go score some heroin, if she was anorexic I wouldn't tell her she looks fat and should go vomit again, and if she was schizophrenic and thought she was a rooster I wouldn't let her crow on the roof." Needless to say she was outraged at me and cps was called on us. True story. I wish the liability was not so ridiculous for good therapists, these kids need real help, not an echo chamber. 😢

Unfortunately people who need to hear her aren’t hearing her. I saw an advertisement for a story on transgenders put out by 60 Minutes and the packet said they were asked by the people they interviewed not to include stories by de-transitioners because it is so rare and would make people not understand the transitioner. I think it’s more to do with how fragile their ideology is and that someone as smart and articulate as this girl could derail the entire narrative they were going for on that 60 Minutes segment.
My granddaughter was talked into being trans. Cut off ties with her mom about 8 yrs ago and me about 2. She is back to living as a female after realizing what who etc happened. Sad how easily our youth are toyed with and by strangers.

My parents sent me a Korean made Apple computer in 1988 when they were in South Korea with my mom’s Civilian Personnel job with the Air Force that my dad called a “crapple” 😂, practically no memory on the hard drive, but better than typing lines and lines of code into. Computers kept getting better and better, faster and faster, until now they are even in our phones and watches, and big tech companies have gotten better and better at using them to spy on and track you. I’ve used computers, email and phones for many years and know better than to click links in my email, to use a good anti-virus program, not to use google, and I don’t answer numbers on my phone I don’t know (who wants to hear from endless scammers about your almost expired car warranty), if it’s a legit call they’ll leave a message and I can determine if I really need to call them back. There are some people who as they’ve gotten older either weren’t interested in keeping up or never had the chance to learn or weren’t interesting in learning, but I think there are more in the older generations that have enough savvy on the phones and computers to keep safe than some of the younger generations like “John” realize. We all have experiences from our lives that add to who we are and as we get older we have more experiences to draw from, and anyone who thinks less of their elders because they are older thinking they must be stupid will miss out on a lot of experiences and wisdom they can pass on. One day the next new generations will think the younger generations from today as they get older are stupid too 🤣🤣. And so life continues ;).
It is so fortunate for her that she is an intelligent person with the ability to analyze and think independently.

& in light of the recent SC appointee hearing, the failure of this ideology to define what a woman is adds to this circus of insanity. They indoctrinate & force you to become a different gender, like a woman, but they cannot even define what a woman is.
I'm so glad people like her are finally coming out, a few years ago I thought I was the only person on Earth who suddenly stopped identifying as trans and it was just really embarrassing. I've had mental disorders (depression, anxiety and eating disorders) since I was around 12-13. I was also a tomboy and had no friends because every girl around me was more girly and I was rejected, because I wasn't like them. Just like Helena, as an isolated teenager I ended up on the Internet and found out about trans people on youtube. It was like a eureka moment: "I must be trans, that's why I hate my body, reject femininity etc". I started experiencing dysphoria (a perfect example of RODG) and binding (before I had body dysmorphia from anorexia and it literally turned into gender dysphoria). Luckily a few years later I started questioning myself, because being trans is honestly exhausting and it kept me even more isolated and was only making me more and more miserable (I pretty much felt like I was stuck between being male and female, constantly having problems because of how I looked etc). It was quite a few years ago and I had no idea that there were "detrans" people. I am so confused about that period of my life, I still find it insane that you can studdenly 100% start believing that you're a boy in a girl's body. At least now I understand that I was just a brainwashed teenager and I'm one of thousands of people who have experienced it and yet we "don't exist", "were never trans", "are stupid and didn't think the decision through". I'm still a member of a trans group on facebook and I see posts almost every day of teenage girls saying that they "discovered" that they are trans a month/6 months/a year ago, even though they never had any issues with their gender before
This is what I fear for kids. I am so glad you were strong enough to help yourself come back to reality.

It's important to be absolutely sure about something like that. Far too often people start believing they are something without a proper diagnosis. Yes there are people out there that are that way but you should get reassurance and proper treatment by professionals before you dive head first in.

I grew up as a tomboy. I refused wear girly clothes and I had lots of girl crushes. I have never once thought I was a lesbian or I should be a boy. It was just what it was. Suddenly now you are born with a wrong body. This is so insane to me.

I have a friend who is a lesbian and has short hair and dresses pretty masculine. She has gotten told by people that she needs to transition and that she obviously wants to be a male. She doesn’t. @Kylie Armour I have a male friend who is as you describe and he is bisexual and chose not to tell his girlfriend - they have a child together. He grew up in an era (and area) where being gay was not tolerated. He is not attracted to men in the same way as women - i.e. there would have to be "something about the man" otherwise he feels no sexual attraction whatsoever. Maybe your friend doesn't want to deal with the assumption that he must be lusting after everyone he meets or that he must fancy his male friends etc. It's not easy being gay and being bisexual must be even harder.
As a 15 year old girl myself, everything she said was completely true.
Boys struggle also when puberty hits. I had a lot of female attention when I was a cute little child. It all vanished overnight. Suddenly no one found me cute or interesting or even important enough to listen to what I had to say. Even less about my struggles or pains. The only answer a guy gets is "come on, man up!" Meanwhile everyone was caring and gentle for the young girls out there. There was a period I wished I was not a boy. I was young an dump. But I was lucky enough it was before all that trans madness. Don't follow the crowd. There are manipulative people out there who make a lot of money from pushing youngsters into crazy behaviors.

Great that this interview happened. The stories of detransitioners and regretters are so important to expose this damaging cult and provide a window of empathy for those teens and children that have been sucked into it.
I would like to point out how low detransition rates are.
Having escaped from a cult I can attest to the moment of clarity. When you get it you either run or die. Thank God she had the courage to run.
The moment of clarity is God “telephoning” you. You do either have to take the call or sink further.
To hear her description of how internet societies that describe gender dysphoria as a symptom of just normal mid-teen angst about everything and through this peer-pressure altered her self-perception so dramatically is disturbing. The comment that the trans community doesn't react well to feelings of regret was surprising. So, this woman staggered through this whole period of her life almost completely alone and without the support we all need to function in a nominally rational manner. In the end, through honest communication with herself, she has become who she is meant to be, a lovely young woman who knows herself very very well - an adult woman.
Reflecting on my journey into adulthood, and witnessing my two sons journeys, we all went through transitional periods where self-identity was being sorted out, for some the journey is less stressful than others.
I am so grateful Helena made it and has told an abridged version of her journey. Deeply personal and revealing. Thank you so much!!

@Peter Johnston I agree, it is surprising that the trans community is less than supportive of those with regret.
But when I started thinking about, I realized that Helena, by her own admission, suffered from massive mood swings as a side effect of testosterone....in addition to her own sort of self-loathing. This suggests that we have an entire community of people with unstable mood swings, who suffer from underlying mental instability on top of that.
The combination of chemicals and mental instability may be why that community struggles to affirm views that are divergent from their own. They have a constant craving to justify their own decisions, and may see regret as personally invalidating.
Agree it’s really insidious drs are making money from mutilating childrens bodies. Having been a teenage girl I can totally relate to the mindset of feeling like the “ugly weird girl” hating the changes in my body wanting to get rid of the wide hips and chest and don’t even get me started on the nightmare and emotional rollercoaster that comes with periods. A lot of girls if given the option of being a boy rather than go through all that would, I no I would have. Now happy to be a woman and mother. I was a Nurse for 50 years, hearing her say Nurses’s, Physician’s, PA’s and NP’s made everything easily accessible, makes me sick. No one listened to her when she decided she was not trans. She is a women, no one cared. Bravo to you! Be strong,continue this journey to help young children. Your and amazing young, strong women.
I am also a registered nurse and I am happy to hear she found her true self. I don’t fully agree that all the health care professionals should be blamed. We were taught to advocate for patients, but also that the patients is always right. If we try to educate them to make a “better/different” choice we are crucified or sued. Unfortunately we love in a time where we have to walk on eggshells when working with patients. It’s all about service delivery and not quality hands on nursing care.
I feel sorry for her and what she went through, but I also feel sorry for health care workers. 99% Of us are just trying our level best. A 18 year old is an adult and parents have no control over them. Nurses will have even less control in this new age where children have the right to identify as gender neutral.
@@kwezimey Actually it’s not our job in the medical profession to support or advocate for any particular life decision that maybe harmful to one’s health. It’s our job to assess the issue one is being seen for and treatment. For example, if a person decided to have unprotected sex and contracted an STD, you could hardly tell them to stop practicing unsafe sex since it’s completely lawful and a personal choice, but neither could the cause of the STD be ignored. It can be advised that safe sex would prevent the issue. Same with smoking. It can be explained that life expectancy is shortened in direct relationship to the smoking. But you can’t tell someone what decision to make for themselves. They must make it based on the information. In the same way, the medical professionals should have properly diagnosed the symptoms with the testosterone related cause. While they can’t tell her not to transition, if the hormones are the source of the issues, it needs to be acknowledged. From there, they can only advise that the issues will resume if she continues with the hormone treatment. Again, her choice with correct information. Just because a nurse or Dr. on a personal level “supports” a patient’s private life choice doesn’t mean it can be professionally denounced as a cause or source of symptoms. Everything about the system is being politicized. Very frustrating.

Just food for thought and seems many people aren’t aware of the fact that anti depressants produce identical behavior in teenagers as a side effect as well as gender dysphoria which is already a possibility of going through puberty so the two combinations significantly compound the effects of this influencing behavior and choices. The influence of the mental health medication on young people is mostly overlooked it’s many side effects and the percentage rate at which they’re occurring is not being offered or easily accessible to get through your own research.

@@BasedZoomer Yeah, I'm autistic and have had gender dysphoria my whole life. It usually is a co-morbidity of other mental conditions even when it comes to the "true" cases. I'm glad I never "transitioned" though, because it would leave me permanently dependent on the pharmaceutical industry for the rest of my life, not to mention all the potential long-term health issues. I still have my mental health struggles, but I work through them just like any other adult. This new culture of unlimited validation and affirmation is extremely unhealthy, because it robs so many of the opportunities and ability to simply accept themselves for who they are.
If anything, the constant need for external validation is a hallmark symptom of cluster B personality disorders, so I have no idea why it's so strongly encouraged and enabled now in the mainstream.
"The older generation" _does_ understand. We've went through the same things you new kids have. The problem is, were trying to tell you that these things are normal and you eventually find your way and place but you're listening to a mass of strangers who are trying to drive you into doing things that are going to harm you...and you're listening to them and not to us who have been through it and came out just fine on the other side of it.

Any human who has gone through puberty can understand some anxiety and awkwardness. LGB propaganda has been around for at least 50 years. It's not new, just more and more radical. It is normal to have same-sex crushes or intense, same-sex friendships into the mid teens (especially girls). It's normal for any human to feel lonely or rejected at times. It's normal to have anxiety over opposite- sex relationships, but not until today are kids told that these normal but difficult emotions indicate the kids must be gay or trans! The internet has been around since the early 90s. Today's young are not the first to experience its social impact.

This is the PREDOMINANT type of story in the trans community, sadly. "Born this way" is out the window. These girls are DECIDING these things at 15, 16, 17 years old - as a type of rebellion against normativity or self-esteem issues. That is NOT what transgender is. Never was. But we are seeing what this ideology does now. A 4000% spike in girls-wanting-to-be-boys in *just the last 10 years* That is NOT natural occurrence. That is contagion. Fake. This girl may have turned herself around... but most go all the way... and NONE OF THEM are transgender. We're only seeing the tip of the iceberg. I predict 95%+ of these transitioned people from 2019-present are NOT going to their graves at age 90, as still transgender people. The next 10-20 years is going to reveal this was a total contagion for most cases. Like REALLY most cases. Not a few... but the vast vast majority. There is going to be a hellish, destructive future coming in the trans community... sadly. The extremely rare "real" cases (that used to be 1 in 1000 people) will be all that's left, with pie in their faces, and a ton of blood on their hands - when they realize they should have gatekept that 4000% spike (40X additional cases over historical baseline).

They hate apostates - because it triggers their own truth they avoid facing... that they too should likely detransition - because it was ALL an identity hobby.

People need to be careful of the mental health professional they pick for their children. Many "professionals" are indoctrinated into this ideology. My friend is a psychologist. She say many therapist support this stuff. I am not against getting mental health treatment. Far from it. Parents just need to be careful in whom they choose.

Absolutely. It starts with the comfort and prosperity of Western society making us soft, overly sensitive. How that applies to teenagers is that it's even more extreme in that peer pressure vacuum, and then with the ease and relative painlessness of escaping to the internet, combined with complete lack of social interaction in doing so, people can get weird, it's not natural. This is exactly what played out with her,and countless others I'm seeing all around me. We have to protect our children from the internet, at the very least to a considerable degree anyway. It's an extremely damaging mixture.

Wow, this hits home. My sis has cut herself off from my fam bec she thinks she’s a trans man. She was always into jewelry and makeup and had crushes on boys, but she was also overweight and bullied in school with no friends. She found solace on tumbler as well and went through the labels. First she decided she was asexual, my parents accepted her bec they loved her. Then lesbian, same story. Then non binary, same, then she cut us off and decided she was trans. It has now been 3 years. I hope with all my heart that she comes to the same conclusion as this woman and that she hasn’t done any irreversible damage
Talk to her man try to understand her, she is your sister. I don't know about your culture but in our Indian culture brother sister bond (assuming you're a boy by the way you wrote this thing) is very sacred and we are very protective of our sisters. I would never give up on my loved one.

Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do at this point as she blocked my number and any time I send messages through friends it just seems to make it worse. And I recently found out through mutual friends that she has done irreversible damage to herself. She got top surgery and is now on testosterone unfortunately. I still hope she finds her way back to herself, but she will never be the same

I was a woman like that and also my female cousin is like that currently. We just have to accept that everyone’s personality is different and we have varying levels of masculine/feminine traits and interests. There is zero need for new labels or any permanent physical changes. The line should stop at hairstyles, hair color, clothes, and piercings lol

14:14 what I find remarkable and very alarming to say the least, is how easy this process was for her. I have struggled with erectile dysfunction for years due partially to low testosterone and I wasn't able to get hormone injections. I had to pay thousands of dollars in medical bills seeing doctors, trying to determine the best course of action. I was told that testosterone replacement therapy was the last option I should consider. But a girl, who is barely an adult can walk into a clinic and after an hour be given these injections? This is just absolute madness.
The same for menopausal women trying to get HRT, yet they happily give it to men!
I hope you've found your help, but for me it worked with occasional testosterone boost, these are the herbs with needed chemicals that boost testosterone production, in capsules, with needed minerals and vitamins that help with absorption. I recommend to take it with vitamin C.
@@tomazkavsek236 I've got doctors that I've been working with this on. The only point I was trying to make is that it's so much easier for people with gender dysphoria to get hormone injections without really getting the proper medical consultation that should be required.
Id say you were probably looking for a permanent solution to you ED problem, testosterone replacement therapy could solve your issue but its temporary, once the testosterone stops the issue would come back so I assume the doctors were looking for a more permanent solution for you, still sucks though.
As far as the law cares she's an adult now and the place she went was an informed consent clinic. She can just as easily walk in to a gun store and buy a hand gun, go to a bank and get credit cards, buy a car she cant pay for, get a loan. All these things that are fine for adults to do when treated with the respect and caution they disserve but if they are misused they can cause harm, just like hormones. They informed her of the risks and it was up to her to pursue it or not. If 18 is too young for an adult to make a decision about their own health then yeah we need to rework some things.

I’m a trans kid who realized I was trans a good 3-4 years ago. I’m fully against children transitioning because of how genuinely detrimental it is to your health. No matter how much I want testosterone, I’m going to wait until I’m 20+ to get any because my body is still developing. Most I’m getting now is birth control that stops my period, which I woulda gotten if I wasn’t trans anyways because of how shitty my periods are.
I don’t understand why we’re allowed to do things so young when we’re naive and gullible. It’s so dangerous and has lifelong affects that you could seriously regret.
