I love "alcoholic small town guy who witnessed something as traumatic as supernatural 20 years ago and now has PTSD-riddled monologues in the local bar about it".
When I used to live in Bellingham, WA ages ago (near the Canadian-US border) there was a guarantee that there was at least ONE person like that outside of most bars on weekends. I’d say Seattle or other areas too but Bellingham is just a very strange microcosm so it’s much more noticable.
That's a specific type of person you got there. I wonder if i can see something like this in the wild soon

what I love about Shayne's humor too is that it is so detailed and well rounded. he just KNOWS how to hit the nail perfectly into the coffin.
the progression of his bits made it even funnier. the first time he introduced the character he kept it pretty basic, because the bit intself was phenomenal. but after people are already familiar with it, he still makes it funny like a first time by showing more sides of the character or making him more unhinged and ridiculous. he really understands the nooks and crannies of humor.
I like the idea that Alex is so traumatized by the flash mob in the mall, that he now drinks himself to sleep in the bar to cope

The only thing more shocking about how good this character is from the jump, is that Shane didn't come up with it years ago. Its SO OBVIOUS for him to do a character like that, in retrospect.
