My stock 3800NA 05' pontiac grand prix tops out @ 110. It felt like it had more go-go but that's it. But this one could've gone upwards of 130-140mph with some mods and disabling the speed governor with a tune!
people saying its slow... its a fucking sedan... should see the trunk space on these bad boys, outside of the super charge the trunk space is the best part about the car!
My buddy's about to maybe buy one of these. - 120K miles, in decent shape. .. Anything I should tell him to look for, on the test drive? Only thing I've heard about is steering column problems.
look for valve cover gasket leaks. and check transmission fluid. make sure shifts are very smooth without hesitation or slippage. i ended up replacing the transmission on mine twice. i bought it with 212k. got rid of it when the flywheel cracked. dont get me wrong, w body impalas are tough and reliable. i beat tf out of mine though.
i had a steering rack issue because i replaced it and didnt tighten the bolts super tight. the old steering rack leaked. it wasnt bad. i couldnt even tell it was leaking.
I had head gasket leaks also, replaced with metal felpros. I also had overheating problems, so my mechanic did radiator flush. He said avoid the kind that use harsh chemicals. I had Chevy dealer change supercharged oil. I believe it needs to be done once every 70,000 miles.
replaced the supercharger rotor pack and gears. the rotors were shiny so i though they were new....no. they didnt have the special coating so im pretty sure i lost boost pressure.

@@19shawn85my Harley and 2011 fusion sel 3.0 flex fuel definitely faster. Sold the Miata for the sporty on my channel sporty does 0-60 in 4.5☺️ Miata was actually faster tho I timed it 0-60 7 flat. 99 nb1 1.8 torsen lsd 4.11 gears.

My impala ls 2001 stops at 109 too. I would thought yours would go at least 130

These were 6.5 second cars new. This 3800 has 217,000 miles though. Its getting tired. Still, if it was well maintained it will run 150k more.

Yeah, dang, valve cover gaskets .. Ya sure can't have them leaking ...

I Used To Think These Cars Was Fast Cause It Report 6.6 Seconds But When I Drove It It Felt Much Slower The Lies Smh

In the video i hit the speed limiter on a flat straight road. it was 109. on a subtle downhill slope, it did 115.
I looked up some detailed specs on the Impala SS and without the speed limiter, it could go 149 mph / 240 kmh
Mine doesn’t cap out like that, it goes to 135 no problems
