There needs to be a Top Gear like lap board for all the cool stuff Grind Hard runs around their track. Aluminum\Steal sign with magnetic name tags near the starting line would be the perfect place for it.
that thing blasting through the forest has got to be the best sound i have ever heard in my life. any engine blasting through the woods sounds good, with the echo etc. i love the sound of dirtbikes, 450 thumpers or even better, 2 stroke screamers. but that thing takes the cake. best sound ever. probably too loud in person though, i like my eardrums intact, lol
This reminds me of the stuff I use to do. We had a Banshee that we wrapped around a Kawasaki zrx1100. We ended up cutting the middle of the chassis out and mounted the front and rear of the chassis to the engine... we couldn't fit a tank on it so we ended up with a can strapped to the handle bars... we snapped sooo many chains and axles. This brings back so many memories.
It sounds SOOOO good on my surround sound. Especially the echo through the woods. The damn thing gets louder farther away. Nearly sounds like an F1 car.
Yeah, it's called the Yamaha rz350. I had the 85 Kenny Roberts red and white edition, the NC. (New California's) that little Rz engine, was equipped with ypvs, (Yamaha power valve system) which regulated the exhaust Port heights, through electric servo motors and cables. Quite commonly found on YZ's of the time. Banshees, do not come equipped with this feature. Instead they rely on more cooling, around the exhaust port. No roost-boost, they had to put charcoal canisters on it, to pass it 50 state legal in 85. Got mine punched out, and ported to the max. It was anemic down low, small price to pay when she got on the pipe. Love that bike. Coachella valley California
Yamaha YXZ runs high RPMs in the dirt, strange little machine, but sounds great. The day you guys get into SXSs is going to be game changing, I can just imagine some of the crazy things you guys would try, and with a cage, its intrinsically far more safe than most of the crazy 1 mistake and you check out vehicles running around there.
A CBR600 redlines at like 14 000. 250f dirtbikes are not far behind, redlining at like 13 500. They only have one cylinder though so sounds like they rev a lot lower than they actually do. Actually a CRF 150R redlines at 14300 so that beats the CBR in rpm, and is a dirt machine.
That is a CBR600F4I, it is fuel injected. Stock that bike has about 93hp. I had a 2002, it was a pretty fast bike. I had it doing 158MPH once, that was enough for me. Now I have a Yamaha FZ07. That is a lot of engine for a quad. I love watching your video, watching the builds is great. Thanks keep it up.
It's interesting that we heard that the Banshee/CBR has low gearing for max torque, but Ethan still didn't need to get out of first gear. It is entirely predictable that the lads would immediately start thinking about ways to improve it. Better suspension with longer travel would not just help with the jumps, it would also maximise the driven wheel's contact with the ground to reduce wheel spin and improve the already crazy acceleration, and it would corner better. I'd like to see grippier tires and seeing as they are a plumbing company, how about some sort of sprinkler system to dampen the track to reduce that dust? They have the pond they could pump the water from.
What a beast, I would so love to race that on my cbr swapped sportsman 4x4. Sounds wicked in the bush and when people hear it coming they are not sure what to expect. Can’t wait to see where you take this. Cheers.
Another great project! Ready to run Baja!! - Better exhaust!!! - Stretch the suspension (Plus 3 inches all the way around!) - Giant Baja style off road headlights - Intake needs a lot too!
With these guys,it's "When" it breaks, not 'if'.They should do the 'pipe guards' like they did before.Only the ends will allow the chain to shoot out instead of flapping.
