Magneto speaking in German was superb writing, he went back to the concentration camps seconds before his demise.
He saw them before he sent the train at the sentinel. If you pause you can see a flash to a child behind a fence in the camp pajamas
The fact that Magneto tells Leech to not be afraid in German is hauntingly powerful.
Erik protecting the Morlocks is so symbolic, when the holocaust flashbacks hit him and the man gets up crying blasting that train with all that rage... man, that hit me hard af
I have to watch the episode again, because he said that in English on Disney. Nice touch tho!
Leech Saves Magneto for sure because his a Healer
There's been stories of older prisoners in concentration camps and ghettos comforting the younger children like that before they face the gas chambers or firing squads.

I can't believe they actually did the Genosha massacre with The Wild Sentinels. This is loosely based off the comic E for Extinction, in which a mutant by the name of Cassandra Nova hijacked and used one of the deadliest types of Sentinels known as Wild Sentinels, and sent them onto Genosha which resulted in them destroying the entire island and wiping out over 16 million people.
Also fun fact: The voice for Cable is the OG voice for Gambit from back in the day.
I thought it was the Tri-Sentinel
I had a feeling they were going to adapt it once Genosha was going to be part of the UN. Though, I thought it be in the final.

the very very subtle hand movement of Magnus at 2:58 to push Rogue and Gambit back while simultaneously creating a barrier and protecting the others is a nice touch!
those little details is why this is show is AMAZING - and those close up moments of his eyes and rogues - unable to speak because of the magnitude of exertion of his power to deflect the sentinel's beam.....till finally saying ' do not be afraid. Peak.
I never thought this show wouldn't hesitate to kill off main characters.

It's based on a superhero comic. Trust me, death is just a mere inconvenience.
This episode had me feeling so many emotions. When I saw the promotions, I thought it was going to be a happy-fun side adventure episode. I wasn't expecting my emotions to be put through a spincycle.

What I wanna know is simple.... where's the ARMY of Mutants who were on Genosha? Season 5 ended with Magneto having an army something like twice the size of the X-Men's team. Where the heck are they? Did the writer just forget they existed?
@@marhawkman303This was a surprise attack with a gigantic sentinel. They were either dispersed during the day of celebration or they were the first to be killed since we do see the sentinel shooting his blast in the background before it even got into the city.

I think it's Whomever is running the current show is reminding Marvel what they use to have in X men before they efd them bad in the comics like XvA and XvI.

The darkest part of that story to me was when xavier was using cerebro looking for survivors and you just saw lights dissipating of all the mutant signatures going out
I’m glad they waited until I was an adult. If I saw this as a kid, I would’ve been scarred. Shit I watched days of future past as a teen and that shit was brutal.
Agreed, I don't think the brutality in DOFP is talked about enough. That sight of Colossus' head smashed right in along with Iceman's decapitated head being stomped did irreparable damage to my psyche.

I have to say the entire Genosha attack was well done tension and action the suspenseful build up to Rogue falling in and out of consciousness as the chaos unfolds then all of the X-Men get into action trying to stop the sentinels and save people ending with Magneto and Gambit’s sacrifices.
Many shows and movies attempt to portray crisis situations but often miss the chaos and confusion that comes with them this whole sequence captures that very well.

I knew they were going to have to kill off some characters eventually, But A Reformed Magneto and poor Gambit?? they really had the guts to kill fan favorites.
How long they stay dead remains to be seen. The orginal show had Apocalypse kill the whole team but time travel shenanigans reversed it quickly

Loved this so much. Gambit is my guy so to see him go out hurt but he went out like a beast.
They not only killed most of the Morlocks but they also killed some important mutants like,

Magneto
Dazzler, Sebastian Shaw and marrow were also killed in the attack.
I don't think Magneto is gone, because they also said Gambit was terminated after he was stabbed but he was very clearly still alive. Plus in anime and cartoons alike the rule is if there's no body shown you can assume they're still alive

Gambit will come back to life. In the city, there is a mutual who can bring back the dead or near dead. Since every type of mutual live in the city and is going to be the lands of where all mutual can stay without human issue.

Why would Apocalypse send Sentinels to kill off every mutant when Apocalypse himself is a mutant and his goal is to build an army of powerful mutants.

Just woke up and saw this episode. The Genosha Massacre was truly hard to watch in my eyes. And it was tragic to see Gambit and Magneto go with their final words. Damn😢
I think next episode, Cable will be the focus character. He will still try to time travel to change the events that happened so I'm guessing Magneto and Gambit will eventually be alive if the time has reset
Next episode is Lifedeath Part 2 I think. So Storm-centered.
