I congratulate you on the modifications. I would be interested in details of how the yak gadget pod works (with original pedals from Vibe, Hobie etc) and especially the total modifications you made to make the rudder look like this. (number of pieces that you changed from the original, size of the pieces etc.) Did you cut the rudder at the height of the screws to add the plastic board? That is not clear to me. Thank you very much! Greetings from Argentina.
I love it! having reverse is essential for the type of fishing I do..... I bought it brand new for $920 🙄 but you can find them used or refurbished for cheaper.
@@KayakKingdom thanks for the quick response. That’s a lot for the 180! Doesn’t hobie have a newer drive that’s around the same price? Also, where did you buy your drive? I just bought the Native Watercraft Sidekick Wheel Transport. Idk if it will work or not... thoughts?
skip that mod. do these instead. my buddy started 3d printing upgrades to the shrimp clips that work phenomenal. easy peasy replacement www.yakhobby.com/ also if you haven't yet. look up "vibe shearwater owners page" on Facebook. tons of new mods on there. @fishifingers thanks for the info! I will look that up. I just uploaded my first review of my yak. It is in Spanish but will leave the link in here just in case. Cheers! ruclips.net/video/pdUnvTebfkQ/видео.html
I visited your friend site and it's nice. Bunch of cool stuffs in there. I might get those clips from there. The rudder extensions also looks interesting.
Great video & nice setup. Would love to click links (affiliate links too) to the parts you used. Gonna have to chase down how people did the rudder clips. What cords are you using for your rods?

4:30 where did you get the strap contraption and all, if you don't mind sending me the link, i appreciate, thanks.
I got rid of them. there are now upgraded clips.
look for "prawn" clips at yakhobby.com
What size washers did you use for all the screws?
#10 stainless steel

Excellent, very good ideas that serve all of the Vibe tribe
Nice set up! I wondered why Vibe didn't make eyelets to put rod leases to attach to on them. Did you just use screws, or did you bolt them on somehow?
just screwed them in with SS screws
Where did you get the hobie drive from and How much? Looking at getting the 180. Do you like it?
Thanks!

nice looking yak! what exactly are the weather proof clamp screw set up you have there for the wiring?
they're called "cable glands" on amazon
Great vid and nice mods!! The one that I like the most and almost sure will do on mine is the bungie straps to secure the seat.

Nice setup! For your transducer, did you run the cable through another gland on the bottom of the battery box?
for the transducer I notched the box just enough to get the cable thru. I didnt want to cut into the sides of the box.
@@KayakKingdom gotcha! Another question for you sir. What size cable gland did you use for the transducer and power cables? Thanks!

Nice mods. Can you do a full review of the yak gadget pod with the hobie 180 drive. Very interest. Thanks
will do. ill do a full vid in and out of the water. gonna be gone the weekend. but will do next week.

Nice rudder mod!! I just ordered my Shearwater 125 and will be adding an anchor trolly, steering, and eventually the pedal drive.
This helped seal the deal for me, picking one up Friday as an upgrade from my Yellowfin. You've addressed basically every concern I had.

What size stayput bungee did you use for the seat? I'm wondering about what length of the bungee needed, there are several available.
the bungee it comes with is too short anyways. you have to put a longer bungee in there. about 12" total length if I remember correctly
Need more mods Santos 😆
