I just copped the Tascam Model 12 and the MPC ONE and been wanting to see someone use them together like this. I also seen another video where dude mixed his beat on the Model 12 like you did and sent the mixed beat back into the MPC. Best thing for me is that with the MPC you can quickly morph your music setup with the MPC in the centre storing all the essential data and templates, no matter what genre.
Just ordered me a the TASCAM Model 24, will be joining my MPC one retro. This is a great way to produce. I even will be adding out gear to the chain for some super dope productions, then the relay great thing is that once all bounced on Logic Pro x, you can re route for a final mix down. Hreat stuff Was! Was about to sell my A & H sub mixer before this update dropped. Even if you just have a 4 in 4 out, this is still a killer improvement!
Just been experimenting with this today (MPC One and TASCAM M model 12) I made a stereo audio track on the MPC with the inputs set to 11/12 (tracks 11 & 12 are the master outputs on the tascam ) then recorded this track back onto the MPC to create a stereo master mix track. Doing it this way saves having to change back all the outputs of the tracks on the MPC the same to mix down.
What would be nice is if you bring the mix tracks into the Tascam And are somehow able to use plugins from a daw on the tascam That would be dope Because some of my mastering plugins are very cpu heavy
Lol I think tascam is going to sell a lot more mixers now a lot of us have been in between daws and stand alone for a long time this brings us close to old school recording
Dope vid! I just grabbed the Md12 as well! Question/problem…I followed your steps and everything works for about 2 mins then I lose audio. I have to go back in the menus and reselect md12 as my audio device, then I can hear the audio…and 2-3 mins later, I repeat because the audio is dropped.
This is the best video on this topic that I've found. I need to get a model 12 now. Do all of the mutes, EQs, filters etc. applied through the Tascam get recorded onto the MPC? I guess I'm not sure how you get your final export. Do you record to a PC or something? Thanks.

But i don’t think you can monitor via the MPC while it’s mated with a usb for recording, which means if you’re recording external sources via the usb/class compliant device, you won’t hear any processing you might want to add to the signal with the MPC - this includes signals routed back from a device like the Tascam, which is very unfortunate!

@@michaelrasmussen5158 hey thank you for answering my question, and the reason i ask is because if the MPC is fully digital, it means that all the sounds are being process completely digitally, basically running completely out of a software, like and PC, Mac, Android and IOS, which means that sound quality its 100% equal to the overall sound quality coming out of zenbeats on an Android or coming out Nano Studio 2 on an Ios or out fl studio on a PC, basically same the kick, snare, bass or samples should sound exactly the same coming out of an iphone DAW as coming out that MPC, so if that's the case why people would say that an iphone with every daws, plugins, every tool that you would ever need for production/beat making,, plus 256 of storage, and completely mobile, it can not be better then any newest mpc's ,,, when basically that mpc its just a midi controller buld around a Linux operating system with and Akai software buld in ???

Even if a phone had all the hard and software specs of an MPC I would personally not use one for music production. I like the touch screen in a pinch, but the sturdy, tactile and mouse-free format of the pads and button shortcuts of the MPC One is what does it for me.
This is completely wrong.. the mpc has its own sound wayyyyy better than any computer based machine.. Any drums coming from the mpc are the best you can get.

I watched video after video after video, and no matter what, Tascam doesn’t pop up under audio device… I tried cycling power, setting up 44@ 28… plug one first plug other first, nothing works… How do you get it to pop up on MPC? What step am I missing, or is not being shown??
How can I record or export all Tracks separate with the EQ-, Pan- and Compression-Settings? Everytime I tried it, it was just a Stereo mix or without the Settings I made. Could someone help me out please? I need the separated Tracks to work further in the DAW.

Hey I just got the mixer and following your steps, seem I manage to rout the pads to individuals channels but once I play the beat it only goes out by the ‘Program output’ . Would really appreciate a solution ☺️✅
Yo! i just figured out a way to route a single pad (or multiple) within a single program to its own track on the tascam model 12, instead of loading 7 different programs. should save on you cpu usage. its possible and pretty easy to set up!
Hi, I have an Akai MPC 61, I replaced the Focusrite interface with a Tascam Model 12 as in the Akai RUclips videos and I still have crackles in the sound when playing. if I have the Akai internal interface in the audio settings, it's OK - do you have such a problem? How to fix it ?
I know this video was posted a year ago, but do you have any issues with the model 12 and clicking and poping anomalies and crashing? Maybe it has something to do with the most recent Mpc updated 2.11?

This is what’s called a DAW-less setup! The Tascam will act as ur DAW. No computer needed. No need to send stems out. Just record directly into the model 12 using multiple tracks! 👊🏾🙏🏾
I'm trying to use my Allen & Heath QU16 with my MPC LIVE on firmware 2.10. I keep getting an error on my MPC : "ERROR: 44100 may not be a supported sample rate on the external device Code -22" Is there a way to change my sample rate in the MPC, or would this be a setting I should change in my QU16 mixer? thank you if anyone knows! :-)!
Good Day fam, in the beginning of the video you mentioned how the routing changes for no reason. I experience the same. If i set the output on the MPC track one lets say to route to output mono 3, it changes back to output 1 for some strange reason... Not sure if this has anything to do with the model 12 or if its just a glitch on the mpc live just wanted to know if you were able to remedy? if thats what you were referencing. I have the akai force and the model 16. It seems that the force already has that capability cuz i could see my mixer channels. But i could not figure out how to get it to play through them. Should my process be similar for the force?
The force does have a few outputs that can be sent to multiple mixer channels but this is limited. When the new update comes 🤞🏾 it will make it a much easier to do it this way. 👊🏾👍🏾

My MPC ONE isn’t recognizing my TASCAM model 12 in the list of audio devices…I only have ‘Internal’ as my option. Do I need to set something up before this will work??

Just got the MPC ONE and Tascam Model 12 hooked up with USB but the Tascam doesn't show up under audio devices. Switches are all set to USB/PC on the Tascam. Using Chroma USB B to USB C cable. Firmware updated to the latest on both. Tried setting the Tascam to controller mode and went through every controller preset. Every video I've seen looks like you just plug in the cable and the audio interface name automatically shows up under audio devices. Mine will only show "internal". Any idea what the problem might be?

For me this would be a standalone workflow, no DAW needed. But if a DAW was my mixing platform I would stem my tracks out not run them thru a mixer. 👊🏾🙏🏾

The Tascam model 12 is analog to digital, the MPC is fully digital.

Yes and no 🤔 the mixers only has 12 tracks so you would have to consolidate tracks from the MPC to make room for your other hardware gear. 👊🏾
Via the usb connection does it midi sync? At least for transports could you have the record start exactly on time with the mpc playing?

The mixer is a standalone device so you can record directly to the mixer. It will act as the DAW. 🙏🏾👊🏾

You can also send your drums out on a stereo output to maintain that width. 🙏🏾👊🏾

Make sure to create different programs for every channel and it should work fine. 👊🏾

My MPC ONE isn’t recognizing my TASCAM model 12 in the list of audio devices…I only have ‘Internal’ as my option. Do I need to set something up before this will work??
When I was having this problem I had to make sure I was using the usb c to usb a cable that came with my Tascam model 12. 🙏🏾👊🏾

Just got the MPC ONE and Tascam Model 12 hooked up with USB but the Tascam doesn't show up under audio devices. Switches are all set to USB/PC on the Tascam. Using Chroma USB B to USB C cable. Firmware updated to the latest on both. Tried setting the Tascam to controller mode and went through every controller preset. Every video I've seen looks like you just plug in the cable and the audio interface name automatically shows up under audio devices. Mine will only show "internal". Any idea what the problem might be?
Make sure the cable you use is the cable that came with the Tascam 12. 👊🏾🙏🏾
@@marcuselbow MY MAN! I can't believe that actually worked. I knew it was going to be something simple lol. I still don't understand how it worked with that but not with the high quality USB-C to USB-B cable. I thought the standard USB port was supposed to be used for midi controllers.

For me this would be a standalone workflow, no DAW needed. But if a DAW was my mixing platform I would stem my tracks out not run them thru a mixer. 👊🏾🙏🏾

It works for me, you have to connect your mixer to your Mpc and the last step would be to go into controller mode!!
