I think the only thing you might notice is an allergic reaction. I have that problem with traditional antiperspirant/deodorant and a lot of dry shampoo. I break out in hives 😖.
I have been making my own dry shampoo with cornstarch and cocoa powder for 10 YEARS! I was poor and couldn’t afford dry shampoo AND I have reddish brown hair. I mix it in a jar, section my hair, and apply with an old makeup powder brush to my roots! I love it AND I smell like chocolate!
I have just started doing this myself and find the cornstarch smell a bit much. Maybe I just didn't use enough cocoa powder, but my hair isn't that dark so it was hard to find the right shade.
I'm quite curious about the relationship between Alzheimer's and Aluminium now! It runs in my family too & I have Epilepsy which tends to occur with Alzheimer (Alzheimer patients tend to develop Epilepsy more often and vice versa)... So if you are doing more research on this particular ingredient, I l'd love to see a post about it! By the way; I used to mix cornstarch & cacao powder to get a dark hair approved dry shampoo. If you wanna smell like chocolate, this might be a great option!
I was using the Waterless foam dry shampoo and really liked it. It will wet your hair, but that helped with refresh. It is a little hard to find around here. I am now trying the VERB and feel the same as Courtney, that it is hard to get even. I will switch back to the Waterless when the VERB is gone. it is also cheaper :)
You have really helped my hair soooo much. I have been binge watching your videos and adopted some awesome hacks 😉 Thanks for all the experimenting you’ve done for us!
I own a company that makes dry shampoo for dogs. It’s mostly corn starch based with a few drops of essential oil. There are some great diy ones you can find for people online. You should try to make your own 😁
Wow, those are some serious curls going on today! Your hair looks amazing:) Thanks for all the helpful info you've given me, I'm one month into my curly journey and have learned so much from you already x
Lol my scalp is so dry I never have to use dry shampoo but I’m watching anyway because I always enjoy your videos so much! Could you do one about growing your hair out? Your hair is getting so long (and looking gorgeous btw!) and so you must be experiencing a different situation with your ends and trims now? I’m always trying to grow mine out but end up having to trim my ends to such an extent I never get it longer. I feel like having fine(ish) strands makes it difficult to go longer without a trim, but you have fine hair so how have you managed it? I do all the stuff I’m supposed to when it comes to looking after the ends but I can’t seem to make them last any longer before they need a good cut!
You are so kind! Thank you! My hair is getting quite long. I do have hair that is quite fine, but I have a lot of it. Which allows me to grow it out longer without the ends getting sent. I also find that doing a pre-poo oil treatment. Every time before I wash my hair really helps maintain length.
Any tips on how to style thick, waist length wavy hair? When I style mine, the ends are curly and the top loses curl very quickly. I have started thinking maybe I should cut several inches in order for it to curl better.
Hi Courtney, I have been having a dry patch on the back of my head. I recently bought the Ordinary natural moisturizing factors plus HA for scalp and it is the only thing that has soothed and calmed that area. Have you tried it?
Your heatless curls look gorgeous! ❤ My favorite dry shampoo is Briogeo's. It's a little pricey but I use so little. It gives nice volume and it actually makes my scalp less itchy. I also like that it doesn't feel so gunky that I need to clarify if I use it.
@Swavy Curly Courtney does the Hair Dance have another dry shampoo without lavender? Unfortunately, I discovered with InnerSense and other cg products that lavender irritates my scalp pretty significantly.
Im scared to use dry shampoo since so many have been revealed die to toxic butane levels etc.☹️ I might just use baby powder or corn powder if anything.
Thanks for all your hard work you put into you videos! You are so helpful!!!!! My hair is finally looking good. I'm having some good day two hair days too. I looked at a pic when I started and compared it to now and I am amazed. I want to give you a big hug! Your hair looks amazing!🥰
Awe thank you so much!!! This TRULY means a lot! Throwing out a big hug to you! And I love taking pictures (and recommend it!) on you hair journey for that reason!
There is no solid, conclusive evidence of aluminum causing any issues to anyone in any way. There's no need to worry about aluminum.

I did that too when i had darker hair
I use arrowroot instead of cornstarch. I find it to be finer, lighter, and yet still absorbent.
It works fine, but I actually can’t stand the chocolate smell.

Have you tried making natural dry shampoo? This might be a fun experiment.

We are supposed to blow dry the dry shampoo after it has absorbed the oil. You will be left we clean hair. Do not leave the powder in the hair.
Huh! Thanks for the tip!

Is the brand Waterless?
I will have to take a look at it!

I do love experimenting in the kitchen! And that is so cool! I could see that being so handy for dogs!

Awe, thank you! And welcome to the journey. I love that this is all helping you! It's the reason I am here.

How did you do your hair today? The curls look great. Was it a heatless method?
It did well! And thanks! Yes, it was a heatless method. I will be sharing a video on it here soon!
I've been having a lot of problems with itchy scalp lately and the only thing that fixed it is Living Proof Scalp Care Dry Scalp Treatment.
This was so interesting. I'm glad your family is doing better. You look absolutely gorgeous. Blessings❤

+Act+Acre Plant-Based Dry Shampoo
You can avoid the risk of benzene with these non aerosol dry shampoos.
For brunettes, add cocoa powder to your corn starch baby powder! It's a winner.
I think they are called robe curls since people were using their robe belts.

Baby powder - who knew!
Right?!
Your hair looks gorgeous!!!!! God bless you !!!!!
You should try the drop dead gorgeous dry shampoo too?🌷
Have you tried the Kristen Ess one?
I was going to mention coco powder is a great shampoo for women who have dark hair.
Yes that is a great idea! And would smell great as well!
Yes!
The only reason I use baby powder instead of cornstarch is because it has anti-clumping agents in it that cornstarch obviously doesn’t have
But I also always have regular dry shampoo on hand bc sometimes I just don’t feel like dealing with the process of baby powder LOL
I have been wanting to try the verb one. Thanks for the review!
I remember reading something very recent about lavender oil and tea tree oil affecting the way our brains absorb estrogen, just a heads up.
Ugh! I'll have to add that onto my list of things to research!

Ah bummer! They do have a grapefruit one!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Thanks!
Im scared to use dry shampoo since so many have been revealed die to toxic butane levels etc.☹️ I might just use baby powder or corn powder if anything.
So none of these that I tested today have any butane of that helps. 🤗
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney thank you
I've done corn starch with cocoa powder cause I have dark hair. 🤷🏻♀️ feels gritty but works.
I've heard you could do arrowroot in place of corn starch. That has a pretty fine texture. It may not be as gritty. And I bet that smells heavenly!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney smells like you put chocolate cake in your hair 🤣. I'll keep the arrowroot in mind if I try again.
Your hairrrrrr! Courtney, you look amazing!
Thank you!!
Innersense dry shampoo is the best
I do love Innersense!
I like that all these options are travel friendly.
Yes! So easy to throw it into your bag or even for on the go!
