Hi Brendan, Sarah from the video here! Number of shots will completely depend on the person and their management. I would discuss your personal management needs with your doctor. Like with traditional MDI for Type 1 Diabetes, you’re taking shots whenever you eat carbohydrates and need a correction for a high blood sugar. I personally take 1 shot of long acting and then average 5 shots/day of rapid acting, with the InPen. I’m eating a lot of smaller meals currently, so nearly all, if not all, are shots for carbohydrates. One thing that I’ve considered and is compatible with the InPen, is Medtronic’s i-Port. It is an injection port that allows you to go without multiple injections every day, where you simply inject into this single port instead. It can be worn up to 3 days and seems to be a great option for those who are seeking less injections and pain. With using the Guardian Connect CGM, I am able to monitor my blood sugars overnight and get alarms for highs and lows. I find the InPen app particularly helpful overnight with lows because I can see my blood sugar directly within the app and then it will give me a suggestion of carbs to eat to fix the low. Hope I was able to answer your questions. If not, feel free to reach back out! As a Medtronic Diabetes Ambassador, I receive educational & promo material/items from Medtronic (but not money). Opinions are my own. #MedtronicDiabetes #MedtronicAmbassador
Very interesting. How many shots do you need to take and how do you manage the over nights ?
