Thank you for your great collaboration with Practical Piano Technique. I hope both of you have a blessed day! Thank you for sharing such a great lesson! God bless🌻
First time I've seen you in collaboration with Craig, though I see your comments from time to time. Very good on the basics of posture, arm, weight and hand technique. It's what Craig teaches but we can always use a different perspective and personality to confirm and review, remind us to constantly be vigilant and observant. I've been on Piano Lab for 6 months +, your demonstration of playing tightly "focusing mainly on finger action, uncoordinated with other supportive techniques" was excellent, very good demonstration of what we don't want to do, helps understanding what we do want to do. I have had at least 6 in-person teachers over the years all touting great resumes, but none went into the basics, in all those years, on these basic considerations as you and Craig stress. Like Craig, your manner is easy to listen to and therefore digestible. Less ego inserted=more effective teaching. Nicely done lesson.
Thank you so much for your kind response! I love the way Craig teaches technique. I think you will greatly improve your technique following his channel. I do have some videos showing technique for specific pieces (but that would apply to other pieces as well). But for now I won’t have new videos because of personal life reasons. Have a wonderful day!
@@PracticalPianoTips I've been following C for about 8 months, completely reworked my technical approaches; he knows how to teach remediation because he lived it himself. I have about 12-15 years of study logged, got into some bad habits. Craig helped me improve everything. Progress has been more than satisfactory. Thanks for the compliment, back atcha.'
Thanks so very much Angelika for such a well explained video for technique. You're an incredibly responsive instructor fulfilling your audience wishes. Can't thank you enough.
Helpful! I've been trying to learn piano (unfortunately on my own...) & all I keep thinking about is if I have the right technique. Nobody talks about the proper technique.
Oh that’s so cool! I didn’t know you were learning piano. Yes, proper technique is very important, and often missed. Definitely check out Practical Piano Technique’s video. He is an expert on proper piano technique.
@@PracticalPianoTips Not enough tutelage out there pursuant to good technique, which will hasten piano progress. I think it has to do with money per lesson, and the feeling that interpretation is everything.
WOW this is such a great video, exactly what I needed actually! Very well explained, Angelika! I have a feeling that this video is gonna be a hit as this is one of the biggest struggles of many self-taught piano learners! 💕
Very happy to help! Thank you so much for you great feedback each time 💕 I really hope it will be. If you haven’t already, check out Practical Piano Technique’s video and channel. He is very good at covering proper piano technique. Basically his whole channel is about piano technique.
Thank you for the feedback. I tried a different set up for some of my new videos (the latest 2 masterclasses) with the mic closer to my face. Hopefully that fixed the issue you are talking about. But if it still needs improvement, definitely let me know.

This is really great and helpful! The biggest thing I tell my students that if something feels unnatural or tense it probably is incorrect
Thank you! Exactly! I tell my students that too.
Thank you :) I love your explanation! could I know is this a legato you played ?
You’re welcome! :) yes I am playing legato in the piece “By the Seaside”
@@PracticalPianoTips thank you 😊
@@PracticalPianoTips It's about as legato as a percussion instrument is capable of. Requires specific techniques. Nicely done.
Your audio setup needs a bit of work... your talking voice is excessively quiet in comparison to the piano.

@@PracticalPianoTips yeah, that's technical set up, but the lesson's substance came through very well.
