What a damn good climax for this little arc, and that cliffhanger omg. It's not even fully revealed yet and the payoff to the first episode already feels so good
Fun fact, Alex found running this show so stressful, at one point he wanted to stop after just one season, with this being the final episode. We almost lived in a world where Gravity Falls ends on this cliffhanger forever.
How did Dipper make the jump? Jumping chasms was part of the manliness training.
I have watched this show so many times, I’ve practically memorized it. But Grunkle Stan’s “Here we go” at the end still gives me chills.
Dipper beating Gideon up and Gideon being exposed and going to jail was SO satisfying! And if you look back at episode 19 when Bill said "LOTS OF THINGS". He showed many images in his eye. One of them being Gideon's giant robot hand on the ground. He knew Gideon would fail without him.
Who would have thought that a cartoon that seems to be funny and childish almost the whole season could have such an epic finale with so much suspense💖
From now on, the secret code is gonna be combinations of different ciphers. For example the number into letter thing you guys have been doing and caesar cipher where you move every letter forward by 3

if you guys want a new pause thing, in the intro right after dipper points at the small footprint (inside the big one) they show the forest. if you pause at the right moment, you'll find an easter egg. not many people know it, and i think it's just one single time frame. good luck
This was a heck of a season finale. But it gets even better in season two, I promise.
I remembered reading somewhere that journal 2 is the most dangerous of all. Because it contains spells, dakr magic, dangerous incantation and artifacts. Such as Gideon's amulet
The code seen in the journal page during the credits translates to "Reverse the ciphers", telling you how to decode the regular end credits code: you have to apply all three of the cyphers used in season 1 in reverse order; first A1Z26, then Atbash, and finally the Caesar cypher. If you do that, the end credits code decrypts to "Search for the Blind Eye", which is foreshadowing for Season 2.
During the episode itself there were two more codes to find. Close to the end, when the camera pans down from the attic to the ground floor, if you pause at the right moment, you can see a pipe inside the floor that has "ELOO LV ZDWFKLQJ" carved into it. This is in the Caesar cypher (shifted by three letters) and translates to "Bill Is Watching". When Grunkle Stan opens the three journals and fits them together, the first page he opens has a box with strange symbols in it. These are symbolic substitutions for letters, and they decode to: "The portal, when completed, will open a gateway to infinite new worlds and herald a new era in mankind's understanding of the universe. Plus, it will probably get girls to start talking to me, finally."

The codes get much more complicated in season 2. There's two kinds. The first combines all three codes used in season 1. The second is what's known as a Vigenère cipher which requires a keyword hidden in the episode itself (usually identifiable by a small symbol of a key) in order to decrypt it.
Gideon is 9. dipper & mable are 12. wendy & her friends are around 15-17.

The codes are cyphered, it's hard to get them, if you don't want to solve them I highly suggest checking the solutions out, since they are somewhat important (not necessary, but help to guide the plot)

yall should react to the owl house its better than gravity falls in my opinion even tho gravity falls is one of my favorites
I love Gravity Falls and I didn't like Owl House, it's very silly/childish, Gravity Falls too but it's usually only in the comedy moments.

@@user-de6ud1jf1g Well, I only watched the first season of Owl House, I even liked the main character and Eda but the other characters are very bad, not to mention that the whole "magic school" theme is very cliché, unoriginal and boring.
@@user-de6ud1jf1g Do not conflate seriousness with quality nor conflate filler as being bad. As much as lore, continuity, and over-arching plots are rewarding for audiences that stick around, way too often do I see folks disregard/diss/trash episodes for simply being as they call "Filler". Even though by technicality most episodes they deem filler actually aren't. For something to be filler, it has to be made without any regard for its placement and free of connections to any other episode, so that it can thus be injected (as filler) in any place within the series as deemed fit. Just because an episode isn't relevant to over-arching plot doesn't make it filler. Many eps of Gravity Falls even though they my not be relevant to over-arching plot, still reference one another and hold a placement in the timeline relevant to one another, which makes them not satisfy the utility of filler-ability.
But if we were to consider the colloquialized idea of filler to be episodes as not majorly relevant to overarching plot, I'd still consider there to be more than just the last 5 episodes of Gravity Falls fitting this definition. If anything, I'd probably list them as: Season 1 Episodes: 1, 4, 19, 20, Season 2 Episodes 1, 2, 4, 7, 11, 12, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21. But limiting the plot to just those episodes leaves a lot of gaps as there are many tie-ins + continuations from episodes that aren't as relevant to the overarching plot, but still connected and referred to (for instance, just these episodes would have viewers not understand who Blendin nor Pacifica are).
Episodes that aren't as plot heavy are still important and serve significant purpose. They pace the series, give time for ideas to digest, develop characters, provide worldbuilding, and just in general tell other stand alone stories that can still be compelling or simply allow for some levity. Sometimes a non-plot heavy episode can still deeply resonate with viewers (I find the Regular Show episode "Gary's Synthesizer" to be my favorite, despite not being relevant to overall plot). I personally find Gravity Falls to be my favorite series because sure the overall story is compelling, but it was given care and respect and also kept the audience engaged with cryptograms, mystery solving, and lightheartedness of family themes that brought the community together. If the only thing worth from a series is the overarching plot, then why watch the series when you can just read a plot summary of the series? Honestly some people tunnel-vision so hard on desiring plot relevance that they rob themselves of enjoying the series in the moment.
I love The Owl House, but Gravity Falls is the OG, imo.
