I can see where call recording can be useful for me (I'm 80 and don't hear as fast as I used to) such as a convo that would have me do things like calling service. There could be a bunch of steps to go through with the correct order being needful. Practically all other calls I get are totally mundane and hence unnecessary, but there can be that one that is critical for comprehending.
@nebinnavas7093 thanks for the reply. Guess Samsung's lawyers probably said a big "nope" to the US/Canada market. I tried to change the CSC of my directly from Samsung Canada store S24 to another region, but it doesn't work on NA versions. Now I wish I would have imported one of the international versions like in the video.
@jspring86 You know what's really weird, Jeff, is that the phone told the caller it was recording. Why didn't Samsung just put that on their phones natively across the board? I was thinking the overseas variant didn't tell the caller they were being recorded, but it literally is doing the exact same thing that other manufacturers have done-telling the other person, "Hey, you're being recorded." So I don't understand why Samsung waited to put it on the new update. They could have had it there because it tells everyone it's recording. There's no law in the US that stops a call from being recorded as long as people know they're being recorded. I know in Florida, it's a two-party state where both people have to agree. Now, had they just put that feature on there like your imported version, it lets the caller know, "This call is being recorded," and if they decide they don't want to continue, they can hang up. So I don't understand why it took so long, but I'm happy to see it's coming because I know Apple has it, Google has it, and now Samsung will have it.
Call recording has not been available in Europe aswell, so its not only missing in US. Im not sure if it will come either because its against law. If you record call you should always notify the call partner.
@jspring86 I wish Samsung would allow for the option to toggle off the warning as in Canada it's not legally required. I guess Samsungs lawyers said a big "nope", when making the decision. How were you able to purchase a Domican S24 and from where? I tried to change the CSC of my direct from Samsung Canada store S24 but it doesn't work on NA sold models. I'd rather return my S24+ while I'm still in the 30 days and get the international version.
Samsung should remove the audio warning warning about calls being recorded in Canada. all of Canada has 1 partie consent and that partie can be the party doing the recording they should also enable auto record. also we should get transcription.
I have the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which I love. But I don't get updates like the other phones get. My UI is 6.1, and I don't have a clue when I will get 7.0
The warning is audible to the other person, so they would listen. And can hang up, 😂. But the thing is I guarantee you that this feature will not be available after beta closes, and most likely not in many countries.
Jeff, I'm curious about Mint Mobile 📱 Do they have a device whitelist like postpaid carriers? I'm trying to find a SIM card to use in my cellular-data-enabled car stereo. In the past, T-Mobile prepaid SIM cards would work in almost any device you popped them into, but times have changed and fewer and fewer devices are "allowed" on the network...
It's available in one ui 6.1 in india also if you start recording call other person doesn't get notification I never really use this feature but it's there
> users in international markets have always been able to natively record phone calls. NOPE, I live in the Netherlands and I haven't been able to natively record phone calls on any of my Samsung phones since time immemorial. Yes, there once was a loophole which allowed certain third-party apps to record phone calls by emulating a Bluetooth headset, but that was quickly 'remedied' (read: disabled) by Samsung with an update. Regional shenanigans apply to certain countries outside of the US, too, just so you know. Hopefully this coming update will improve things, but I'm not holding my breath.
This AcR CuBe is nothing in comparison to bcr app, requires root. It's super clean, recording you and the other side, not recording your speaker from the damn mic!
@emperornephew6487 cube acr doesn't require root. Rooting a galaxy phone that has knox is a dearh sentence since it's irreversible and will damage your phone's security and make it not compatible with banking apps.
@@daxx238 i was talking about the quality of app. I'm sure acr is equal to skvalex, and recording quality is horrible, because it records from speakers not internal software
@emperornephew6487 it records your voice from the speaker and the caller's voice from software. Your voice will be lower but it's hearable, enough to be a proof (I don't see why you'd record calls for any reason other than a potential threat/proof of scam). Root apps are ALWAYS better tho, but yeah I'm not rooting a knox phone as that'll kill most apps. Banking and money transfer apps are smarter now and they always hammer down rooted phones. Even some regular non-banking apps do that, especially if it's gov related.
@jspring86 is there still a way to join the 7.0 beta program even if it's says it's full? I'm sure I did something last time that was a sort of 'cheat'
Thanks Jeff! This is huge long awaited news...is this part of the phone app package, meaning we can download the apk from somewhere? or you can only get this via the entire One UI 7.0 update? im from ITA BTW...hope it will work here too
Hey Jeff I hope all is well do you know I just found out something you know when you have the lock screen you look at it it opens up and it seems to open up slowly what I did was I went to lock screen and I saw something that said show unlock transition effect I un clicked it and now the apps seem to open very quickly even when I look at the camera so check it out😅😅😮😮
Update alert: this morning, I pulled a 75 MB Google play update by using Security & privacy>Updates and bumped to Nov. 1 on my s23 ultra unlocked on Verizon. ALSO pulled watch 7 ultra, 245 MB update to Nov. 1 status via Wear>update. Feeling much safer, now.😁
@jspring86 I have things set up so it's quick to check for updates all around. The settings>security &privacy >Updates may say green, but get checked anyway rather than relying on the checkmark. By posting the results, this gives a data point on availability for older phones to be aware/start looking for these goodies, yes?
Super amazing video my dear friend. Very interesting and very informative. Thank you and your team for your hard work. Hope you have a super amazing day. Sending prayers for you and your family.
I'm happy that Samsung has this feature in One UI 7 to record phone calls. If you don't have pen and paper in hand, this feature comes in handy. My Google Pixel 9 Pro XL also has this feature; it's called Call Notes and even asks to transcribe and summarize calls but if you can't see this feature it probably your region
@@jspring86 Yeah, it is, and I am also in the US. I watched the Google event for the Pixel 9 series devices, and I saw one feature that caught my eye: Call Notes to record phone calls. I told myself I need that feature because I have a feeling I don't know people's phone numbers or addresses by heart. Also, sometimes I don't remember what people said to me on the phone. But this is my big question: How many Samsung devices will get this feature? On the Google Pixel 9 series, it's using AI
It's a disappointment Samsung doesn't have Satellite SOS and Crash Detection while Apple and Google Pixel does. After 15+ years I switch over to the Pixel 9 pro.

One ui is just getting more and more awesome, love wat sm seeing
Do outside US devices also announce the recording to the other party? Or is the "call is being recorded" limited to the US market?
To the us market. europe and asia had call recording before one ui 5.0 though.

It does notify the person as shown in my video here

When is 7.0 releasing?
iOS 18 got it too. Nice
No we don't get call recording in EU (Sweden), its not available here either, damn sad. Still not there!
It's about time, jeez Samsung, what are we? Children?
Lol feel ya for sure
Yeah for real that's like 2001 innovation lol
Probably because of legal ramifications here in the US might be the reason why we haven't seen this
@jdsimon this would be useful if you want to blackmail someone(not saying that i would do that lol)

From what I understand, it works similar to the iphone. It will say to the other person "This call is being recorded".
Yes for the us varients outside us and europe no
Feature we need is to allow play of an mp3 into a call.
Like fax tones for spam calls
I'm in malta (Europe) and never had native call recording.
Check Dolby atmos if there is any change??
Nothing new in Atmos but plenty new sound settings overall

It's highly unlikely that will still be in the software in the US. I doubt we get that feature here.
