Today, we delve into two iconic TV series. First up, Friday the 13th: The Series, often mistaken for the slasher film franchise due to its title, yet it stands alone with no connection to Jason Voorhees. This clever gimmick initially drew viewers intrigued by the horror series, although it could have easily backfired. Then, we shift our focus to Freddy's Nightmares, a short-lived but beloved show featuring one of horror's most iconic villains, Freddy Krueger. Join us as we explore the eerie world of Freddy's Nightmares and pay tribute to its chilling legacy.

Incase anyone is interested, Friday the 13th: The Series is on Comet and Freddy's Nightmares is on Tubi.
Thx! I’ve been wanting to catch Freddy’s Nightmares so I appreciate the heads up. And I always record Friday the 13th on Comet, one of my fave TV stations. 😇
@@coomtothebroom778The entire show of Freddy's Nightmares is on Internet Archive for download in good quailty.
Not all of the episodes are on there. It’s like 2/3 of them
@@PorphyryOvTyre Both seasons are on Internet Archive for free in good quailty.
The whole TV series on DVD is available on Amazon.
Freddys Nightmares used to show at 1 or 2am in England. I had school the next day so had to record it
Robey... I never forgot her name.
Impossible to forget. 😅I'm pretty sure I think of her, every time I see someone rocking a tank top.
@@THE_Dodge_Morningstar lol yeah.
Damn Straight
Same here. I got the whole TV series on DVD.
@@yesmaybe3791 Heck yeah. I used to watch every Saturday night.
I LOVED both these shows (and the series War Of The Worlds) and would watch them all weekly.
I was about 12 when Friday the 13th: The Series came out, and haven't watched it in DECADES, but the two episodes that have always stuck in my mind are Brain Drain and the 2-part The Quilt of Hathor. I suddenly feel like I need to track down and revisit the series from the beginning.
Friday the 13th TV Serious remains one of my favorite series ever.
I have both on DVD the freddy's nightmares was on a bootlegged copy I got years ago. I even got both soundtracks of the tv series I love them both.
Waiting for Freddy's Nightmares to come out on DVF or Blu-ray.
Friday the 13th inspired our store
Friday the 13th had an episode about a 1950's car that would take you back in time to the Jim Crow South. The footage in the past was in black and white.

This was such a great addition to USA! Man, that channel had the best lineup of shows back in the 90s
Friday The 13th The Series was a really great show although once they wrote off the Ryan character, it lost a lot of what made the show work. But the episode with Johnny weren’t unwatchable and the premise of the show with cursed antiques was still great. The show quality always remained somewhat consistent compared to Freddy’s Nightmares. The pilot of FN was amazing and the next episode linked to it was too. After that, it felt cheesy and boring in most of the episodes and you could see a lot of it coming. No unpredictability whatsoever. I always wanted a tv series based on the actual FT13th. There were rumors that Peacock will be getting a Crystal Lake prequel series but that kinda never went anywhere. And there’s been teasers of DQ Qualls starring in a Freddy tv series run by Rob Zombie. Considering how Zombie acid-ified the Halloween franchise, idk if I’d want him making anything to do with the Elm Street franchise.
Peacock is getting the Crystal Lake series still. They’re filming now.
I completely love this show thanks for giving it some love also that intro was absolute gold
We watched Friday the 13th the series as a family along with Monsters. Great family fun!!!
I didn't really like any of these shows.. Freddy's Nightmares was much better than the Friday series though, that's for sure. Loved the pilot episode.. that's really the only one that stands out. It's like a mini prequel.
The episode "Wax Magic" from Friday The 13th stuck with me forever, especially the gross ending.
I watched this Erie’s because of the name, stayed because the stories were entertaining
Freddy wasn’t the Rod Serling of his TV show - he was the Crypt Keeper. The people who made this show clearly had an affection for the classic EC Comics.
The first episode of Freddy's Nightmares was the best
LOL - I loved Fri the 13th series, but I never knew they were only cousins by marriage.
I watched the first episode as a little kid and I was pissed there was no Jason. I kept watching it anyway because it was still better than a lot tv shows of the era.
Favorite Friday the Thirteenth: Vanity Mirror. I thought for a long time the girl in it was Rebecca De Mornay. Sometimes when I want to psyche myself up, I'll say, "I'm a bullet. I'm a missile. I'm a rocket to the moon." I couldn't remember where I heard it until I watched an episode of Freddy's Nightmares where Lori Petty ran track.
The Chucky show hits!
I really wish I could've watched Freddy's Nightmares as a kid. I don't even recall what network it was on. I caught reruns of Friday the 13th: the series in my teens years, then rented the full series on netflix years ago. Was really disappointed w/ that series, being a Friday fan. At least Freddy's Nightmares had Robert doing intermissions. Friday had nothing to do with the franchise.
I saw it on itv in England, you ain't missing much 😊💜🐾👍👋
@@mychunkyjordi7585 it was tales from the crypt lite, but it was fun, especially since Robert was in it. I've seen a good amount of it since then, but I'd want better quality episodes to rewatch them in
Friday the 13th series did have a couple of great episodes. But boy was there some stinkers. Still the redhead was hot.
How have I never seen this???
Man I LOVE these
I actually know someone who got to be in a couple episodes of Friday The 13th: The Series back when she was a little kid.
I'll be upfront and admit that I actually would hold onto the phone right before 'Freddy's Nightmare' came on, just to have him say "MmmMmmmm! Don't touch that dial!" Like WTF was I doing?? 😂 But one beat, yet ironically cool, moment happened when my brother or cousin actually had the "Greatest Hits" album, which VERY ironically wound up on top of the apartment radiator and melted! Thus destroying it. We all already were very familiar with records and their fragility, what it was doing on the radiator I have NO clue. Never had that happened before, not after.
I always thought the downfall of Friday the 13th: The Series was when Ryan got killed off and was replaced with that other guy. That's when I lost interest in the show. Two of my favorite episodes was "Mesmer's Bauble" and "A Friend to the End".
Ryan didn't die. In one episode, the curse turned him back into a little kid, and his mom came to take him home.
As for that guy they replaced Ryan with, I can't believe I forgot his name because I had the biggest crush on him. Dude was was gorgeous. Blue eyes and great chemistry with Robey, but unfortunately Even though he showed interest in her she thought he was too young so it never went anywhere.
That's when I lost interest too.
I'm a "late comer" to watching the original (2,3,4,5,6producterscut) Halloween sequels (fyi i love them) and I enjoyed H3 for what it was, I wished it did tie back to Myers though, and not be a stand alone story, the whole theme of Halloween and the sinister underbelly of suburbia with the witches, cults and asylums and Michael being at the core of it all as the boogey man.... Sigh, what could have been.
This was a very good anthology series that ended too soon. Friday The 13th The Series was put together well. They don't make they like that anymore.
I live in Springwood Australia
Friday the 13th used to be on syfy all the time also
🖤
The editing enhances the overall viewing experience.
I find the way the kinda did they relationship weird since they were cousins lol
Its not complicated.
If you dont want to make a movie with Jason dont call it F13.
If you dont want to make a movie with michael myers dont call it Halloween.
What Nightmare Episode is the one which a person gets an arm through the chest? Please let me know
Killer instinct
"IF he dies we riot!" character is a perfect description. this show was a pleasant disappointment. i loved it and was one of those that if it had been a "Jason" thing, it would have sucked hard!
😈
Ok to defend Halloween 3, their plan was to have the Halloween franchise be a series of Anthologies with horror premises taking place on Halloween (ergo the Name). Much like how True Detective was meant to be a different genre of Investigation Mystery each season, ranging from supernatural to mundane to the bullshit that season 4 was. I'll say it, Season 2 beats the fuck out of Season 4. And I maintain my 30 year crush on Jodie Foster, but s4 was craptastic. The twist was so weak Shamalan would puke in disgust.
Freddy’s nightmare needed more Freddy. That is why the shows were not all that 🥴🥴
Freddy's Nightmares is a great concept for a horror anthology series. Each episode/story being a different nightmare Freddy's victims is having. Shame the show was awful.
hooking up with your cousin is biblically approved....just saying....
Lol well there only related by marriage so 🤷
