- VEGAS IS BACK OPEN BABY!!
This week Kash, Merlin and I get to work on my 57' Bel Air. We already took off the paint and cleaned it up a little, now we're going to see what we have to do to get this baby to run. Merlin asked me to do a quick trip up to Orderville, UT to pick up a hometown legend. The only twist is we're not bringing Swamp Ass, were going to try to drive it back to Vegas!

So glad to see the "57" run....can hardly wait till you have given it the "Welderup" treatment.
Wish we had the space and time for me to tell you about the "55" 210 that I bought from my childhood. My first cousin owned it till I was able to talk him out of it just recently and Our Son and I went completely through it and gave it to my Wife for our Anniversary. It's now complete with a real un molested 427 BB out of a Super Sport, Muncie M-22 4speed with a original brand new old stock Mr.Gasket Vertical Gate Shifter (that I got from a buddy that had till now never been mounted on a Transmission) a re-built Aftermarket Complete Moser 12 bolt. We re built everything that needed it and upgraded to 4wheel disc brakes new custom wheels and Mickey Thompson Rubber that fit inside the fenderwells (we had to do a mini tub job on the floor to accommodate the 33 inch wide rear tires but it needed rusty panels removed anyhow so that worked out good)
Anyway long story short it's now her summer nice weather driving car that she drives back and forth to work....you should see the looks she gets driving that car....most I know expect a guy behind the wheel and she is constantly getting challenged by kids in new Mustangs or Challenger's to race but all she has to do is nail the throttle and shift gears and they leave her alone REAL QUICK.....LOL.

We had no traffic here for like 3 months it’s still pretty light. I have a terminator cobra that I wish drove more. I’ve been driving it more in the last 3 months then I have in the last 5 years so awesome to get it out on the highway and let her rip

Is that the only way to put an ls in one? I’m the one who’s Dad has one. His original 1st car. He has a hot rod 350 in it. I’ve been an ls guy for awhile and got him to maybe let me switch it up. But the mounts are obviously the old pedestal style. I was thinking motor plates? Or throw it in a trailer and head to Vegas lol.

It's a very rare numbers matching car , it deserves to be restored . Find a not so rare find and go nuts with that car. Not a huge 57' fan , but this is just wrong .
It's not likely he'll part with the original parts he removes so if wants to chassis and engine swap it and return it to numbers matching at a later date it's no big deal. After all he owns it.
I saw this adventure on your IG story and couldn’t for the life of me figure out why you’d go through all of that to save that truck. Why not just pull it up onto the swamp thing and bring it home. But now I understand. 4 wheel drive, manual. Pulled everybody and their momma out of a ditch at some point. Yeah. It’s cool af.

I love that old wrecker. The story behind it makes it worth saving. Let alone the great condition it is in. The first truck I drove was a 1968 GMC. 327 with three on the tree. I was eight years old. I would go nuts in those desert salvage yards. The 57 convertible is awesome as well. Who doesnt love a black 57?

Putting a 283 in it, planning on a semi- ratrod look (regulations up here in New Brunswick are pretty strict). Named it Project Hemmroid. Hope you don't mind...

Super cool. Doing a 67 C10 the same way right now myself. Got the old 283 running so it would move under its own power. Now working on brakes and suspension. Will drive it rusty and crusty before it gets any body work and paint.

I was all primed up to see this 72 styling tow truck which was the one right behind you that you looked and I mean both trucks are money... some fine money. It might bleed the account for ten grand but then its worth the big dollars as they the highest collectable truck in chevy history. Actually from 69 through 72 was the money shot and it was the 72 I want to say Silverado or the Cheyenne that had the fancy stainless trim package and wood grain dash with gauges an of course 4x4 as no respecting man walks when he can drive. Its kinda like the 57 convertible being most sought after tri five model. Good going guys... get your wallets out and save a few more

My wife is in Vegas right now i just talk to her and she has already won $380. And brother i love that 57 the way it looks is perfect
With this is being numbers matching I would keep it with the orginal drive train and keep it numbers match but fro a power up grade I'd build up the orginal block bore it out maybe 40 th put in a big cam and very good heads blower with turbo shift kid in the trans then it will run its ass off and still be numbers matching
