Baby! This was EVERYTHING! I absolutely love the vulnerability and realness both couples displayed. This is true black love... none of that social media fluff! You have the good, the bad and the ugly. Therapy is needed in relationships and I'm so glad that it was touched on because if you think about it, two people are vowing to come together as one for LIFE. YES.. you're going to need an outlet, mediator, navigation ect.

This was SO good and honest and beautiful because they were truly supporting one another.
My hope for Mike and Cynthia is that she continues to lean into the partnership and team that she has with Mike. That Cynthia remembers to not just trust herself but that she trusts that Mike is ready to go through the thick of it with her.
I hope that for all couples and even myself 💛

The apologies at the end really got me 😭
It was beautiful to see it end on a high note after everything else. Good on them for their transparency but I really hope that Cynthia considers individual counseling. She seems to still be operating from a place of trauma ie hyper-independence. It's sad that she's never had that kind of support. I can surely relate but I hope she gives Mike the opportunity to prove that she can lean on him. I wish them well!

THHHIIISSSSSSSS! OMG...as a newlywed, I can't express how much I appreciate watching this! Both couples being vulnerable and sharing their feelings was moving. My experience has been similar to Cynthia's and I struggle some days to verbally express my frustrations to my husband. Since we both love music and it's our connecting point, I plan on using Roslyn's playlist suggestion. I watched this show as a single woman and was so inspired by the couples, not that I'm married I watch the episodes with my husband. I love the fact that we can use the show as a conversation starter. Kudos to Codie and Tommy for show us and the rest of the world that Black Love is REAL AND INSPIRING!🎉💞💞💞

I really feel Cynthia & everything she said on 43:00. It’s such a huge change , the transitions, the movements, literally ‘no control’ and starting afresh after marriage. It takes commitment n efforts. This is exactly where I am almost 2 years later. #newlymarried 😊
The apology at the end too 😭, I’m learning, so sweet to see. This is real life n I have to figure it out.

Finally - so hard to see black couples on social media actually loving eachother and wanting the best for eachother. Sometimes my hubby and I feel like we the only ones actually happy being married. 20 yrs going, two beautiful children and life is bless. We need to see more stable, successful living Blk relationships cause what is being shown is pure hate and anger from Bm to BW and vice verse. I’m so happy I found this series😊💕

Hands down! My favorite episode of the entire black love series. To see we all have the mood swings. Times where I know I love my spouse, but mad at them in some moments. To see that this is what marriage is truly like….as a 33 year old man. It’s refreshing to know. We all go through it. But commitment to one another along with putting in the continual work. I rarely comment on RUclips, but to the producers of Black Love, thank you for telling these stories. It is the raw relationship therapy we all needed. Most of us grew up with certain movie fantasies of what relationships can do for us not what we can do for our relationships. The good, the bad the ugly! Listening to these people navigate relationships and being vulnerable to share has healed me. God bless you.

This blessed me soooo much. Especially toward the end in the exchange between Cynthia and her husband. I am boo-hoo crying. Her situation is exactly what I’m going through (just 25 years younger)… all of the transitions. All of the change happening at once, and me not being the “fun girl.” But this gives me hope that me and my fiancé will make it through. With God all things are possible.

All the best, bite size life, bit by bit. I think bundling every thing at once is a trait with most of us. Trying to figure out the end from where we are. I am the same as Cynthia, I am self-made, transitioning like that is scary. I have never had someone have my back, always been just me. That trauma shows up when it seems you are not in control.

Wow!! Now that I’ve reached the end of the video I just have to say that I fully admire Cynthia for her grace, her power, vulnerability and honesty. It’s inspiring to see what she’s become and the empire she’s built for herself. Blessings to her transition, as I had a similar transition in life (minus the marriage) and blessings to she and Mike. Lastly, make NO mistake about it, that it was divine order and intervention that Ros and Ray have been on multiple #AFTERLOVE’s because they just have sooo much to give. Man, love is so beautiful and black love is even more beautiful when it’s right!!! Thank you, Codie ❤. We love you and appreciate you sharing this time capsule with us. It’s interesting that they mentioned “tone” because that has always been my issues when it comes to men; whether it be through romantic relationships, platonic or even just familial. When Roz mentioned the trauma it immediately made me think about my lack of trust and security with the man that I may have had a dominant/combative or harsh tone with and it was extremely telling of that man who may not receive the authority/conviction/passion in my voice because of their pre-conceived notions or like she said, past trauma or unresolved issues that they haven’t healed from. Moral of the story. We are both responsible for the less than favorable outcome, so we must DO THE WORK. Period.
