Antony Starr's performance in this episode was truly something else. Easily one of my favorite performances from him as Homelander and its a damn shame this guy hasn't gotten an Emmy for this show yet.
That shit had me lifting out of my seat. By far my favorite homelander moment so far was telling that mf to get in the oven lmao
I swear to God if he and Karl don't get some kind of award by the time this series is over then we are living in a world where nobody knows REAL acting

Homelander cares about Ryan in the sense that he sees Ryan as an extension of himself.
Narcissism at its finest but I can’t help but feel sorry for him. They created a monster and now that he’s a father he’s still internally struggling
@@ACinemafanatic Yeah I agree, that’s why I feel bad for him. He was just a child with powers who just wanted to be loved, to have a family. It sucks, because he would have turned out to be like Clark Kent instead of this tragic monster that they turned him into.
I feel like the only one who has ever been real to him was Butcher.

Ngl after seeing this scene, I can honestly say wholeheartly that Homelander actually earned one of the top 10 spots of greatest villians in the history of television. I told the community that even by The Boys standards, this season will be the darkest one yet and this episode exceeded the expectations by an landslide. Mans had to literally channel his inner crazy Joker to get one of the most twisted, psychotic laughs I ever heard in television. Definitely on par with Ledger's, Phoenix's and Monaghan's own style. Best episode of the Boys yet. The only time I felt chills and such utter tension with this type of crazy in Tv was when Joker told Batman the real plan of Harvey Dent back in TDK and when Walter did an hit and run on two childkillers then shot one of them in the head with no hesitation. Honestly, The Emmys are really moving the goalpost if they don't give Antony Starr the acknowledgement he deserves for playing Homelander. I for one, from Day 1 hated Homelander and I still stand on that along with the rest of the supes and I hope in the end, Butcher goes full Eren Yeager on them but even with that and with all the shit he's done, I still couldn't help but empathize with him regarding how Vought treated him. Vought is the real enemy of The Boys including the man who stood his ground to an psychopath with powers and lived, Stan Edgar. No wonder he become the man we all know him as becuase they made an monster. Even when he said that not one of the scientists stood up to Vought and said that this is wrong, I think in a sense, even with what they did, he was self-consicous with that though of wanting love and compassion and instead of showing that side of what being human means to a kid no less, instead Vought exploited that weakness to control him to be obedient and him realizing that makes me more of a threat. In other words, let the ultimate crashout event begin.....
After this ep, Homelander is forever GOATED as one of the best villains of all time. And I hope I see more of Antony in other works of media as well cuz he is a master of acting.

I think the moment a train decided to take matters into his own hands with blue hawk realizing the entire system protects people like him was his turning point. Even if his brother is naive about the whole "murderer" thing. A train was already a murderer. The problem was he was killing the wrong people. I thought that, Becca isn't a hallucination, she's the manifestation of the worm, it represents itself into something Butcher loves. The voice in his head, much like venom. If that's the case, if it's more than just the cancer cells mutating into an intelligent parasite, and it is indeed an alternate persona, shits gonna be awesome come the season finale. And Frenchie may have seen it, I wonder if they'll explain that too.

Antony Starr In This Episode In Particular Is The Most Intense and Amazing Performance In History.
Leading theory about Butcher is the compound v he took didnt give him powers but instead gave the worm powers. So if Butcher dies the worm dies. And the worm wasnt about to let that happen. So the worm might just be using Butcher to survive until its strong enough without him.
I remember the days when you could look forward to a new episode every week (Roots, Dynasty, Dallas, etc.) Before TV broadcasts ended at 11:00 pm, the American Anthem played over the image of the stars and stripes of the American flag. And a PSA that aired at 10:00 pm stating, "it's 10 o'clock. Do you know where your kids are?" Funny. Who knew weekly episodes would suddenly be trendy? What amazing performance from Anthony Starr. The psychotic laugh, his expression, Kripke was not lying. Prolly the best episode since the erogasm. Great reaction as always guys. Part of me is comprehensive about Homelander. And the fact that Vought continue to experimenting on and on with the oven it's so awful.
