This is great stuff. Noting that the sand type in this video is heavy compared to many softer beach sand courses at Florida, California, Caribbean, Mexico and U.S. PGA top courses. What is the diff between hard and soft sand bunkers?
Reallt great video Alex.😀 🎆🥇 In the next bunker video can you please explain how the type of follow-through can help your distance out of the bunker in average lie bunker shots? do we always need to rehinge the wrist as we move the R hand under the L hand for the release? You can help us high-handicappers with more videos about really awkward shots (close to a fence or rain shed, against a big tree trunk, under the trees, backhand shots, etc.). High-handicap amateurs always seem to get them, while good golfers can avoid them.
Love the no sand/wet sand bunker tip. Will definitely use that one now the weather is starting to turn. Great explanation that the ball doesn’t always need to be on the front foot with the club way open - this will help me loads. Thanks for the lessons
If I would hit that shots as far as Alex does here, on our golf course, the ball would be in the bunker at the other side of the green. In find short bunker shots far more difficult.
Hi Alex great tips. Have you got any tips for playing wedges from hard dirt lies? Here in Australia we get some hard almost cement like dirt lies which are very easy to knife/blade over the green. Thanks
I’m going to give this a go Alex- I need to make a prompt card to remind me of the different scenarios. Trouble is, this is all so different from what has been shown in videos before and I’m getting a little confused with what should be my go-to shot.
I switched out my 3-5 irons for the cobra tec hybrids 3-5. And I am sooo happy with the change, especially for those long par 3s like you said, you get the distance. And so much more consistency of strike. It is true that you may have a little more deviation from right to left but the confidence getting the ball down range with ease is worth it a huge confidence boost
Very well done. I have had each of these situations in the past few months. I need to take these techniques to the practice area. Do you have a video for light and fluffing sand?
I had a superb bunker shot out on Monday to save (from your other video) and then I went into a bunker where it felt on a downslope. I wish I had seen these videos it would have helped. Thanks coach! A very good video!
Saw another comment on hard pan lies (ball on hard dirt). We are in Oklahoma and luv ya! But if we are off the fairway our terrain is hard! Can you please, pretty please do a vid for hard dirt. Much appreciated! 👍🏻🥂
Great bunker play Alex. On Your plugged lies You appear to be aiming slightly right. I assume that is intentional to give You a steeper swing and a bit across as You swing towards the flag?? Rory says He does that. His video on this channel contains that info. Ray
Superb as always Alex. Not sure if you have posted a clip previously, but have you or could you cover distance control from standard greenside bunker shots? Something quite a few of us struggle with I'm sure and I'm off single figures 🤣Any routines or drills to reinforce the distancing? Much appreciated - Rich
Wow. I've been putting the ball further and further in the stance, opening the face more and more. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Certainly not when the bunker is bare. Will definitely be trying this one. Thanks for the tips!
"If Carlsberg made bunker videos" ..... excellent video Alex and ball back in the stance for a plugged lie? Never thought of that and now can't wait to have a plugged lie. Cheers, Mike
Thank YOU @@AlexElliottGolf ... your videos really are getting better and the drills make a lot of sense, particularly those that you can transfer to out on the course without breaking any golf rules
@@AlexElliottGolf not sure I try and avoid them bunker's...fingers crossed I won't be in one for another couple of months....fingers crossed I remember to close the face a touch....running out of cigars
*This is NOT a normal lesson but one that focuses on all the hard bunker shots!*
Next video the RULE OF 12 over a hill and down slope. Hey what's in your bag?

This is exactly what I need. I rarely miss getting into a bunker if there is one. My record is 9 in one round.
my secret is I pretend the bunker is the green. miss it every time.

What about a bunker where the sand is basically non-existent, how do you play those?
Hi Alex, can you help me please, I can't stop shanking the ball
This will be difficult if the flag is rather near and no much green to deal with....
Thanks Alex just the help I needed or our clubs tournament 🎉
Your a wizard 👌
Thanks for your time 🙏
Looking forward to your many tips😊
Happy to help!
Nice tips, Thank you👌🏼
I do wish the 1st 2 minutes of waffle had been ditched
Very helpful especially with awkward ball positions in bunkers.
ThankYou Alan
Awesome Alex as always. But that picture of the vid confuses me. whats the gap?
This is the gap i like to see left soemtimes if you are struggling with contact
You have to leave a gap the rules of golf allow nothing less.

Hi Dave, i have a tip dropping tonight that should help you with this!
Cheers looking fwd to it @@AlexElliottGolf
The *only* part of my game that I'm confident in is my greenside bunker play. Been that way for months.
And?
@@kcry1 And deez nuts? IDK what you commented for.

Great lesson. I'll try the bare-lie tip on my local muni, the bunkers are literally as hard as concrete, barely a 1/4" of dirt.

You are all over it Alex . Great tips .playing on Friday and will no doubt be needing to use these 😂😂👍
I was unable to see the path of the club on the last tip, but every other tip included an outside-in track in the sand, correct?
I would say not to out to in
@@AlexElliottGolf The tape doesn't lie. Alex.
I need a bag...😂
Alex, I’m a beginner. What do you recommend I focus on first to improve my game ?
Just watch his channel then goto the range and practice his tips, he is sensational!
Haha thank you!
Hi - dont start with driver thats my first tip! Work through your irons and get comfortable, I have loads of iron tips on my channel
Great!
