  • In this weeks video we take a step back from the Honda ATC Three Wheelers and finish restoring a barn find 1986 Honda TR200 Fat Cat. The bike was pretty much complete and ran nice, it just needed a good sprucing up. We didn't plan to do anything too crazy, just a garage restoration with some simple hand tools was all that we were thinking. Now I need to find a Yamaha BW200 to match.
Here is last weeks video if you are interested in seeing the beginning,

I love the build! A couple of questions, 1 where did you get the new plastics and rear light? 2 where did you get the rear rack. And lastly new tires. The reason I ask is because my uncle has a 87 fat cat and I recently bought it off him and plan on restoring it.

Nice! that should be a fun build! You can find the plastics by searching eBay or google for "Fat Cat plastics". These came off eBay. You can get them in plastic or fiberglass oddly enough.

Riding videos are always the best in my opinion. Not that I don't like the build videos.

Could you point me in the right direction to get some passenger pegs like on this one and how do they mount up?

Hey Cole, I guess I never paid much attention to the rear pegs. They were on the bike when my buddy got it. Maybe the previous owner added them? I am looking at some Fatcat pics and, yep, not seeing any mounting holes on a lot of the pics. I'll have to take a closer look the next time I am at my buddy's place. Maybe it was an option on some?

Nice work! What did you use on the engine? I am considering buying one of these but the cost of aquisiton seems prohibitive given the cost to make it look new again.

We used scotchbrite and 400 grit sandpaper to rough up the original paint on the motor. Then used rattle can Duplicolor or VHT engine paint. I can't remember which brand on this bike but both hold up very nice for rattle can paint. They are a fun ride, I'd recommend getting one if you find it for a reasonable price!
