I recently acquired a Praktica LB camera and downloaded the manual. I was pretty sure that I understood the film loading (it is pretty simple as you say, and the manual is clear) but this being my first time using film in many, many years I wanted to check that I hadn't misunderstood. Your video was perfect for this and now I can load my film with confidence! Thank you!
Thanks for your video! I have a Praktica MTL50 with the same PL loading system. Even I do load the film "maybe properly", I often get some frames mounted each other resulting in unintentional double exposures or half frames connected with the next 1/3 frame. Do you know if there is some issue with the winding system or is the normal result of loading wrongly? Thanks!
Thanks for you comment. If you are loading the camera correctly, then you have a problem, that sort of thing shouldn't happen. It's easy to check if there is a fault with it. Put some old dummy film in the camera. Remove the lens, put the shutter speed dial on B. Have a felt tip pen at hand, fire the shutter and keep the shutter open. Draw two vertical lines on the film, one on the right side, one one the left. Do this all the way up to the end. Remove the film without fully rewinding it, pull the whole film out of the cartridge and examine your markings. If they are not evenly spaced, you have a problem. This method allows you to see if a particular fault appear randomly, always on the same place, etc. Good luck!
