  • Watch as I share my 2.5-year journey of crafting an epic D&D dungeon. Join me on my 32 video and 3 livestream adventure filled with lots of learning, fun, frustration, and experimentation. From randomly generating the dungeon using the 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide to experimenting with various techniques and materials like hot glue, resin pours, and miniature painting, this journey was truly one of a kind. You'll also get a glimpse of some unique features I added like discarded pen insides, miniature fantasy portraits, and even a mysterious egg prop. Don't miss out on this epic journey!

    regarding youtube algorithms, i mainly watch recommendations, i will scroll through them endlessly until something jumps out at me (which is how i found this video, the first time i've ever seen anything you've done), however if i was researching a project as i often am, i would religiously search and scour the whole internet for anything remotely related to what i'm planning. so people will and do search out and find your modular dungeon build videos if they need them, but as your analytics probably reflect, there just aren't as many people out there actively searching for videos on any given topic as there are people who just want to watch something on youtube about any random topic they are into, from wilderness survival to hip hop to claymation to building a dungeon out of polystyrene. i bet the *only* people watching a video a month+ after its release are those who are actively searching for it

    • @ArtJeremiah
      @ArtJeremiah  Год назад

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts on how people discover videos on RUclips. I appreciate that you found my video through the recommendations section. While some people do search for specific topics on RUclips, many others just browse and watch videos on a wide range of topics. And you're right, the viewership of a video often declines over time, but I'm grateful that people continue to discover and enjoy my content even after it's been released for a while.

    i enjoyed this a lot. thank you for sharing!
    about the algorithm: i usually dive down a different rabbit hole every few months. when i'm in one, youtube suggests fitting videos, so i gotta admit i don't search too often. but whenever i'm in the process of changing rabbit holes i use the search a lot, and i totally agree that it doesn't matter how old the videos are, because there's stuff to learn either way. but like you said, yt is mostly entertainment nowadays, and for that the "newer is better" algorithm makes sense, to keep up with people. i'm glad this 3 week old video was new enough to be fed to me, gotta subscribe :D

    This was an amazing video! Your viewpoint and experience was very interesting; and the dungeon is gorgeous
    Can i say a dumb idea i had? Don't you wanna take a shot of your dungeon like, "from the door" perspective? Maybe take one of those cameras in a cord, the kind you use to look into pipes/medical use; and take a video of "going through the doors"? Would be pretty cool i think XD

    • @ArtJeremiah
      @ArtJeremiah  Год назад

      Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found my viewpoint and experience interesting. As for your idea, that's actually a pretty creative suggestion! Capturing a "from the door" perspective using a camera on a cord could indeed make for a unique and immersive video experience. It's something I'll definitely consider exploring in the future (if it's something I can get ahold of). Thanks for sharing your idea!

      Haha, as stated in the video it was more of an artistic endeavor to get away from building so much modular terrain. That said, I plan on getting several uses out of the dungeon. It is perfect for quickly setting up at conventions and whatnot.

    Congrats on your milestone! Your dungeon is fantastic. I hope you get to play it occasionally! I found your channel some time ago, I think you were a couple episodes in. I found it through Wyloch, probably. Or maybe the Bards Craft. Not his channel specifically but through side lists on his videos. I’ve found a lot of terrain people that way, and through looking up commenters to see if they have public channel lists or playlists. It can be hard to find obscure channels. I don’t use the RUclips search feature to find new channels or the recs from the home page but mostly from the video lists on the right or six videos in. I was glad to find your instagram some time ago, I have a couple art accounts there, very obscure. Anyway enjoy your work greatly and hope to build some stuff on my own soon. Probably more oriented towards set pieces I can position and use/reuse on a round ultimate terrain pizza, ala Dungeon Craft. It’s a space issue.
