the way Mike plays such a tricky bass line and sings at the same time live gives him much respect as a musician/songwriter/performer. This is a solid performance by the guys.
i have no idea why this band isnt bigger than blink or green day! in a way im happy they are still underground its what makes them better than any other band

Ahhhhh, really brings me back to the good old 90's :) Just look at Mike's hair, and hear him play their smash punk hit. This was when good music excisted. We had Green Day, Offspring, NOFX, MXPX and so many other great bands. Thank god they're still around! :D
@Twaalfstrepen Duder, you say the primary audience of a punk show these days is encompassed by "ignorant kids" and yet don't realize that they're the market for these bands. It's not just tweens and teens. It's basically anyone still into punk or those who haven't been in the scene long enough to become jaded and to despise what is going on. It's people in their 20's. Probably a lot of your friends. Just come on over to the dark side of cynicism and hopelessness. It's really fun.
Lol. They're good, but no Blink. No way they create better music. Plus they preached that christian rock that holds people back. And their drummer wasn't attractive.
Eric Carrillo I’ll agree that the “Christian band” tag held them back from more mainstream success. People trip on that and want their pop punk more rough and raw. MXPX were all nice, non druggy/drunken/cussing guys while bands like Blink 182, Green Day, Sum41 definitely were all 3!! That appealed to the rebellious fans of that genre. Musically MXPX held their own against those other three and were just as good!
I love them, but blink cut so many great tracks and broke through at the right time. It's sad that many fans bashed before, everything and after. It had so many pop gems, that could have made them break through to the mainstream. I'm sad they abandoned that style, even though Panic, the follow up, might be among my favorites by them.
the reason theres no good punk bands anymore is.. any good songwriters or people with integrity of this generation wouldnt hav been listening to 2000s pop punk growing up.... and i dont blame them,, fact is only a select few young people hav a clue wat its about... and odds are theyre bands are shit...
@bpeterson81 Being punk is all about doing whatever the hell you want...if all your friends think the same way. ""There is a cowardice lower than that of the conformist: the fashionable non-conformist." - THOU
@Twaalfstrepen Let's just presume that in your mid-20's, you and I have been to the same number of shows. If you can't be honest enough with yourself to realize that there is nothing 'punk' about being punk any longer, than you're delusional. Yes, punk music exists, but what was punk in the 70's and 80's isn't the same thing today. Just like 'emo' isn't remotely close to anything that that it derived from. Punk, emo, and even hardcore are just buzzwords for selling and marketing. Grow up dude.
the way Mike plays such a tricky bass line and sings at the same time live gives him much respect as a musician/songwriter/performer. This is a solid performance by the guys.
I love Life In General. Have listened to it all through high school and still haven't stopped. THIS is the sound of teen angst.
mxpx drummer is the nerdiest punk ever!!
