I am still a slight sonic fan, but I'm definitely not as bad as I was. I kinda just... play the games now. But I did used to have an OC.... It was weird. Like, I ended up making a hedgehog named Gear who was basically a green shadow with sonic spines and purple edges because I had a weird obsession with Shadow's hover skates. Oh and I think he was supposed to be working for Eggman at one point idk, it was weird. Luckily my PC was reset a while after I made him for... reasons.
Oh god, I definitely had a Sonic phase. It wasn't THAT bad, but it definitely existed. I did have an OC though, several years before I even knew what the term OC meant. It may have been the first character I ever created, even. His name was Scarlet the Hedgehog, and he was pretty interesting. Other than being a Sonic recolor and Sonic's long-lost cousin, he was actually pretty decent. He was red, and he owned and tended to an entire planet of Chao. I really liked the Chao. They functioned like an army, and so that was his main method of combat. He could probably shoot fire or something, too. I liked fire a lot back then. I kinda miss the guy, honestly. He wasn't super original, but he's a bit nostalgic. (Also, your taste in 2hus is impeccable)

Storytime: I had a character called The nightwatcher; he was a tall, skinny, blue cat with black long hair, big orange eyes, sharp teeth and horribly long claws 😰. He wore a long sleeved shirt with black and white stripes, a black top hat, and black boots (basically like an edgy emo cat in the hat). He stalked humans and would then chop them up with an axe; he also lived in the sewer. 🤦 PS: Forgot to mention, he had six different colored eyes on his tail 😒
Never get why people use edge or edgy in a negative way. What does it matter what someone likes, as long as they enjoy themselfs. See nothing wrong with your darker drawings.
Finally, someone who gets it as well. It might be “edgy” but like, if you have fun and like it. Go for it. Have fun. Life is too short to worry about what others will say for such things some enjoy. Sometimes even myself. Sometimes it helps with feelings or hard times, it’s good.
I think it's funny how there are so many baby Shadow drawings even though Shadow was never a baby. He was created by Gerald Robotnik, and was created to be probably around however old Sonic is supposed to be. Of course, he is older than Sonic. After all, he was created before Eggnan was even Sonic's nemesis, trying to take over the world and make "Eggman Land". I'll never stop thinking how stupid of a name Eggman Land is. Edit: I seriously don't understand why people actually like my comments.

With the way sonic characters are they just invite "OC", I personally considered they were designed to be colored counterparts of sonic even knuckles who I knew wasn't a hedgehog. From what I've gathered people generally make OCs when they're teens but I made some (which I for some reason remember them and their powers) for one year when i was around 5 or 6 (I'm only 16 which I know people consider young) and grew out of it realizing it was sorta dumb.
Your anatomy and linework was amazing. I'm currently quite new to drawing cartoons instead of just random doodles, and my hand is quite shaky, which messed up my linework. Would you mind sharing some tips on improving in that area?
I’ve always had an unexplained “soft spot” for the Sonic franchise and I was pushed over the edge once I discovered Sonamy haha. I think I can appreciate this video a lot more now that I’m a big fan of Sonic :)
Speaking as someone from the art community this is technically not true depending on what your doing. Tracing is a good tool to use when grasping the basics of art and from those tracings you can then learn to create your own style and as such are no longer a tracer but more so an artist who’s good at referencing (a lot of professional artist say that it is a way to expand what you already see as amazing into something fantastic). It only becomes a problem if you claim that it’s your own original work, refuse to learn, and (the biggest problem) sell it for your own gain. Hope I cleared this up for you ☺️
I use to draw now i stopped becoz it kept looking like shit, but besides my woodstock (from snoopy) and stitch drawing my dad said they looked good. To me it just looked like garbage
Hey, never feel bad about a character, franchise, movie, TV show, etc you loved when you were a kid. It's because of that love that your younger self had a lot of fun enjoying something important to them. Even if that something doesn't appeal to you anymore, your kid self had a lot happy memories because of it and those joyful memories are an important part of who you are today. :-)

I was really expecting to see totally crappy drawings with completely deformed bodies and stuff but... most of them are pretty darn good (in sonic fanart standards y'know) and I gotta say, your indigo OC it's pretty good. The colors are nice and you really nailed the style so I wouldn't be ashamed at all. Yeah you know, the edgy and cringy thing is there but that made you draw a lot and improve and there's nothing wrong about it. Also... the coloring is great. Those are color pencils but they look great. Well I'm not sure if they are totally amazing but I'm 23 already and I can't color pencil for the love of ZUN ahhhh! Anyway, great video. I love the expressions. P.S. On a somewhat related note. There was this one time when my Nendo Patchi's hat fell to the floor... it was awful! I was like "Oh no! now it's ruined, no no no this is awful ahhhh it was brand new noooo noooooo" *picks it up* oh, just a few scratches... huh... well this isn't so bad"

Whenever I clean my nendo's, Marisa always falls over, as she's really heavy (probably cause she's such an old nendo) and has a pretty flimsy stand.

Oh my god, this was such a huge throwback to my early DA days, I recognized a good bunch of the fan characters you drew from the community back then. I still draw sonic currently- it's a fun circle with the right group of people/artists, but I've come to accept that I'll probably never abandon it :') My love for it from the start really helped my art grow and venture into newer things, and I can see how far you've come with your stuff as well! Oh my god, this was such a huge throwback to my early DA days, I recognized a good bunch of the fan characters you drew from the community back then. I still draw sonic currently- it's a fun circle with the right group of people/artists, but I've come to accept that I'll probably never abandon it :') My love for it from the start really helped my art grow and venture into newer things, and I can see how far you've come with your stuff as well!
