Do you use a youtube plug in like VID IQ or something... cause based on my plug in it looks like you're not using nearly enough video tags. Might be something to look into.
Nice! Gotta love Walnut. For a second there at the 10 minute mark I thought "He's not going to paint that blue is he?" LOL! Whew. Don't scare us like that, David. Seriously, great vid and build. Pretty fast build at 10 hours.
me encanto! estoy haciendo uno mas largo como de unas 46 pulgadas de largo, por 20´ ancho por 30 de alto mi duda es. cres que las patas resistan si son de 3x3 pulgadas, la madera es sedro?
This is exactly what I'm looking to build for my bedroom. I have opened the file in Sketchup but I only see a rendering of the side table. Is there a way to get an actual cut list?
Thanks for watching Garrett! You should be able to get a 3D rendering and move it around and measure pieces with the tape measure tool... but for an actual cut list, no I didn't make one unfortunately (don't know how to be honest! I always just design in sketchup then transfer the measurements to pencil and paper to build the thing). Sorry about that!
The download situation sucks Hahahahai had to make some dumb profile and it still didn’t work fuck all that. I’m a wood worker not a goddamn computer nerd
Thanks for the comment and the watch, Adam! I uploaded the plans here, let me know if you have any trouble accessing them! 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/bd2be7d7-b386-4bb0-b441-c2e51d76abcc/Classic-Shaker-Side-Table
Impressive. Really. If you want a router jig to make mortises, and just routing in general, easier, check out the Samurai Carpenters vid. Seriously nice piece of furniture and excellent video skills. Some of those camera angles really help bring the viewer into the workshop with you. Oh and extra points for the puppy :)
Thanks TeeKay! The jig I used in this video is Jay Bate's design and it works pretty well but is quite simple. I'll check out Samurai's vid for sure! Thanks again for the view and the comment, it means a lot!
dkbuilds you deserve the kudos. Not only are you growing a really great skill set, but you’re contributing great content to the online woodworking community. Stick to it, and your online following will come. Then maybe you’ll be getting free Microjigs and other sweet freebies.
BossmanEight oh no! Sorry for the difficulty. I have the free downloadable version of sketchup. In the future I’ll try to make plans that work with all versions of the software!
Dude you didn't try very hard to solve your problem before complaining. Try sketchup make 2017, it isn't a trial version. help.sketchup.com/en/downloading-older-versions
No deference intended, your workmanship and the organisation of your workshop seems impeccable, but then at 10:05 behind you on the wall, an electrical outlet socket that seems to be well out of character with it's surroundings. regards Tom.
@@tompepper497 Ah! Thanks for clarifying what you meant Tom. Agreed that outlet is awful. Fortunately since this video I have moved and built a new workshop that is fully impeccable :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
You may want to rethink having music all throughout your videos. Most ppl want to hear the tools/shop sounds, not music or endless talking as seen by reading the comments on woodworking/restoration channels with multiple 100k's subscribers.
Thanks for the comment, Dan! Totally agree. I stopped putting music and/or voice overs in my videos a few months ago, this is an older one. The newer ones are much better received!
Beautiful! Im working on something very similar right now. One of the big differences is that I use half blind dovetails on the top drawer rail instead of mortise and tennon, just so its stronger. That bottom rail can act as a pivot point and pull that top mortise out if someone accidentally bumps the front leg too hard. I really like the size of yours though. Good proportions.
Very cool, thanks for sharing! Half blind dovetails there are an interesting idea. If I re-made this table today I would definitely use half blind dovetails on the drawer itself, but hadn't thought about it on a rail. I appreciate the idea! Let me know how yours turns out!
Nice work. I especially like your starting point for the leg tapers. 👍👍
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Love the video, especially when there's not alot of talk and just demonstration. Thanks again..
Thanks for the feedback JC, I'm glad you liked the style! I'll keep making more videos like this one!
Nicely done! As a woodworker with too many decades in the rear view mirror I enjoy seeing so many young people taking up the work. Keep at it!!
Heck yeah thank you Mike, kind words mean a lot from seasoned veterans like yourself!
Finally, I found a build with no pocket screws. Beautiful Sir. Very well done. Nice Lab as well 👍
Thank you Crusty!! :)
That is a BEAUTIFUL table! And the gratuitous doggie footage added a very nice touch to the video production. I love Labs
Thanks, John! I love my lab too much not to include her in videos! 😇
Beautiful craftsmanship!!!!
Thanks, Ken! I appreciate the kind words :)
Great use of hand and power tools.
Thanks, Charles!
Love this table still. Watched before.
Thanks so much Angie!
Really well done. Snap sound when you put the drawer in at the end was super satisfying!
Thanks!! Yeah that fit turned out great!
Excellent Video and workmanship!
Thank you! Cheers Gary!
Beautiful
Thanks Jacobo!!
This video is great. Can't wait to check out your other stuff!
Thanks, Mike!
A beautiful, simple yet elegant design. How have you not got more subscribers? You have skills beyond your years 🙂
Thanks for the kind words! I wish I knew how to get more subscribers... but in the mean time, I'm thankful for the ones I already have like you!
Do you use a youtube plug in like VID IQ or something... cause based on my plug in it looks like you're not using nearly enough video tags. Might be something to look into.
probably because he doesn't talk
Looks awesome! Can you please fixup your baseboards and electrical receptacle at time 11:10?
LOL good catch. I don't actually live in that house any more but I'll pass it along to the new owners 😆
Beautiful work. You make it look so easy.
Jeanine Stone thanks for the kind words Jeanine! I appreciate you taking the time to watch :)
Very nice...congratulation!
Thank you Professor!
Very nice table.
Thank you Shane!
Awesome. Turned out real nice. Thanks for throwing the plans up there
Nice table!
Thanks Gary! Appreciate you watching one of my older videos!!
@@dkbuilds it’s hard to find project builds these days and I overlooked this one somehow.

Don, I'd burn this end table for warmth before painting over beautiful walnut like this! :D Thanks for the comment and the view!
I'm going to use your plans to build this next week. I'm hand tools only though so we'll se how it goes!
Awesome!! Love the idea of hand tools only. Let me know how it goes Rabid and if you have any questions I can answer!
@@dkbuilds are the drawer joints just rabbet and glue?
@@RabidCheetah That's correct. If did it again I would dovetail them, but when I made this side table I wasn't confident in my dovetails.
sweet shit, doc. loving the POV shots.
cute shop dog!
Nice work, I'm building one this week.
Awesome build dude! So impressed with what you’re doing.
Thanks Joe, I appreciate it!

¡Gracias! Creo que las patas de 3x3 serán lo suficientemente fuertes para esa mesa. ¡Buena suerte!
nice work well done
Very nice and skillfull no pocket hole crap, but real joinery
I like your table. I want to build 2 for bed side tables. Might even add a shelf in ours.
Who’s a good girl! The dog was easily the star of the video lol. Awesome build. What kind of finish did you use?
Disregard, I read the notes. 🤦🏻♂️
Aww thanks! I

@@dkbuilds awesome, thanks for getting back to me.
Did you joint both sides of that board on the jointer?
Good question! No, I jointed two sides on the jointer to get exactly a 90 degree angle, then I used the planer for the other two sides.
Nice work, nice result! This I like more as cake stand :)
I did the headboard for my son.I just changed 1 or 2 things sorry. was int my idea lol . Now he want this nightstand.
Nice! 😂
Nice walnut. Did you have to re mortgage your house to afford it? These lumber prices are insane.
LOL tell me about it. I can't afford any lumber these days! Hoping it goes back down soon...
Awesome, love walnut!
What song starts at 8min 40sec?
Any chance of getting the plans without going through sketchup? I'm finding it impossible to download and locate the plans.

Really nice table well done, but as an electrician please level up the socket outlet to the right of your table it's well wonky lol
Haha thanks Bryan! As a carpenter I chose to sell my house and move rather than fix the socket 😜
I use to be like that wiith cars once the ashtray was full I would change it ĺol

Thank you! Yes I did design the flip table as well :)
nice job. now straighten your outlet and cover plate. lol
