Sargasso Season Update (mid-July 2024): Thanks to Hurricane Beryl, all the beaches in Cancun are now clean of any sargasso (seaweed). The beaches are now just perfect 😁⛱
This resort looks WAY BETTER than it did before the renovations. I think it now competes on par with the likes of Hilton Cancun. However, I also think that RIU can start planning some modernization of their other properties too, like the RIU Palace Peninsula next door.
Yes, the RIU Caribe is much better now than before. The food quality has also improved. I agree that the RIU Palace also needs an update. The dated red-grey-white color scheme is showing its age.
