Much better than most of the other videos in RUclips. She explains the single words and - what is really important for learning - you see the face while speaking.
Just discovered this channel today. Your english is very interesting. I'm an American (from Southern California) so obviously a native english speaker. Your english sounds like a native speaker 80% of the time and is extremely good.
when you're saying "weather" in English, instead of making a "d" sound to make it sound like "wedder", youll want to place your tongue between your teeth to make the "th" sound. hope this helps :) your tips for speaking in chinese are great!
Teacher, thanks a million for all your hard work , and thanks for giving us the literal translations. It helps us to think and understand like a native speaker.
Learning this language is difficult especially when you brain doesn't easily retain vocabulary. But it's also exhilarating trying to master this so that I can communicate with my Chinese students by using a little of their own language (like you, I'm a lecturer). So I love your videos and the way you teach - makes me feel happy when I'm learning from you.
You teach Mandarin very well. I like the fact that you repeat the vocabulary often and break down the meaning of the Chinese characters. You also have excellent pronunciation in both Mandarin and English but if I I hope you don't mind if I correct your grammar. I was an English as second language teacher in New York for more than 25 years. I also speak Mandarin fairly well, but not as well as you speak English. Anyway, here's my little correction. Generally we don't use a time words like yesterday, last night, last year, etc. with the present perfect tense. Instead use the simple past tense. So 我昨天看了天气预报 should be translated as I saw/watched the weather forecast yesterday. I really like your video very much. I will look for others that you have made.
I'm very certain Michelle is aware of the correct English sentence structure - in the videos I've watched her grammar is near perfect. I believe in this case, she is actually trying to get her students to THINK in (what I often hear referred to as Chinglish), by doing an imperfect translation. I personally think its a great idea and wish more teachers would do that. I have been learning Chinese for about 6 years now, and I often do such translations, so I can get more used to thinking in Chinese. Its kinda like thinking about how Yoda would structure a sentence. If you are familiar with Star Wars you've heard him speak enough to know he'd say, "right you are".
Been looking for good videos to learn Chinese. This is really good, thank you teacher :) So many other videos are really annoying, either no subtitles, or stupid talking... Keep it up!!!

hi. I would like to ask, is chinese that you are teaching is a same thing with taiwanese mandarin. I need to learn taiwanese mandarin, I just find you're great teacher. just wondering if your teachings can be taiwanese mandarin.?
Could you explain me why you have 是 in 不是很好? I always thought you need 的 in the end to use it with adjectives , but after googling found out that many people use the way you do.
yes you need in the end to use it with adjectives , like hen hao de ren( good person.), but just like English, we skipped the noun (weather) , in English you can say not very good. instead of not very good weather, in Chinese likewise.
Thank you for your comment. bu shi hen hao and bu tai hao both means not very good. and bu hao means not good. they are all correct . just different ways of expressions.
wo feichang ganxie ni but you never answer my question last week i ask you a question but no answer please answer me i need your help to speak a good chinese thank you

You can, but you'd be saying something slightly different.
Bu hao = not good
Bu (shi) hen hao = (is) not very good.
Hope that helps!
