6:23 Oh, cool. I didn't know that. I've always kept my loaf of sliced bread in the freezer and then I heat it up whenever I get ready to eat some bread. I was honestly just doing it to make it last longer. But now, I see that eating my bread this way will help to prevent blood sugar spikes also.

What is your opinion on sunflower and pumpkins seeds and other beans and lentils in controlling glucose and insulin spikes? I think they are low glycemic index though want to check for sure . Tia.
Hello @natali6232! Sunflower, pumpkin seeds, and lentils are indeed low-glycemic foods that can be beneficial in managing blood sugar levels. However, everyone's body responds differently, so it's always a good idea to check your glucose levels regularly to see what works best for you. Thanks for your question! 😊
The alliteration in this video is awesome
Thanks @ItsOver9000Productions! Glad you appreciated it - trying to make nutrition info fun and memorable!
Thank you so much. That video is very helpful. I have a couple of questions, if I may. 1. Should bread be frozen in it's original packaging, or do you have suggestions on it? 2. What of Basmati rice, in moderation, of course?
@nightowl8677 glad you found the video helpful! 1. Bread can be frozen in its original packaging but feel free to use a freezer bag for added protection. 2. Basmati rice can be okay, but portion control is key. Thanks for watching!
@SugarMD hello, Is sweet potatoes, taro roots and dates safe to eat by diabetic like me? Are they low in G.I? Thank you Doctor Elgin 😊
Hello @jhulialandown8516! Sweet potatoes and taro roots in moderation can be part of a balanced diabetic diet. Dates are a bit high in sugar, so be cautious with that. Stay healthy!
How high is still safe ,most time mine stays below 180 after eating but sometimes it goes into low 200's and what is your take on Royo bread made in new york
Hi @dude81869, generally speaking, goals are to keep blood glucose levels under 180mg/dL after meals. However, individual targets may vary, so please discuss with your healthcare provider. As for Rye bread, it can be a healthier choice as it's high in fiber and can help control blood sugar. Please ensure to keep your portion in check. Stay tuned for more tips.
Zucchini noodles and cauliflower rice can only fool your eyes ,they still taste like just Zucchini and cauliflower not really substitute
What about dehydrated potatoes- does that process change them into slow release carbs?
Great question, @ginabanks8594! Dehydration doesn't change potatoes into slow-release carbs. But pairing them with protein or fiber can prevent sugar spikes. Be sure to subscribe for more nutrition tips!
Would you pls include warning for those on warfarin blood thinners cause chickpeas is not an option on my list of do's and don'ts. Thank you

Cold rice is supposed to be better for diabetics too
Thanks for sharing your tip, @bellasmom2597! That's a great point, as cooled rice may contain resistant starch which slows carbohydrate digestion. Keep the comments coming!
