Good ride there bud! Especially loved the pond there at the park, man I’d of had my fishing pole at the ready haha. Love these kinds of riding vids, along trails and stuff. I’ll have more of my own coming soon. Glad to see these, keep these good videos coming!

Hi Bruce nice ride! That 'creek' is the mighty Patapsco River - you know it as the river where the Dali hit the Key bridge (at it's mouth). The ride through the park is one of my favorite - I even took my kids here for biking when they were small. I wish you got to see it before they took the dam down. @28 minutes you noted a 'gully', that area used to be filled with water from the old (very early) hydroelectric dam. When they took out the dam a couple years ago the water level dropped and now it's looking like a deep valley as you noted.

Hi Forest. Wow. I had no idea that a dam was there. I used to walk the trail 20 years ago but I never walked up that far. Yes it is the Patapsco River. When I had a boat, I was a member of the Patapsco River Power Squadron and we'd run exercises on the Patapsco and Chesapeake. Where the Dali hit the bridge was my favorite spot on the Patapsco because nearby, there is a marker where Francis Scott Key was held prisoner on the British Ship and wrote the Star Spangled Banner. I'd always take my guests there on the way to the Inner Harbor. Fun days! Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback!

@@brucethomas3929 I know that spot near the bridge! I also would take my kids fishing at the South end of the key bridge (there's an old disappearing gun battery there), only a few hundred yards from there
The easiest way to see the damn would have been to go on the other side, and go up the trail after the swinging bridge. There was a sign explaining it's origins as a very early hydroelectric plant. That area is so full of local history and tragedy. The river was navigable hundreds of years ago, and the docks were in Elkridge prior to the inner harbor being built, and the iron foundries along the Patapsco made cannons for the colonial army!

@@ebikeengineer Wow. That is amazing! I didn't know and wouldn't conceive the river being navigable in that area and docks being in Elkridge! That explains Rolling Road and now it makes sense. Thanks for sharing my friend!

@@brucethomas3929 yeah it's surprising, but back then the valley had it's trees stripped for lumber and fuel. This led to massive erosion that filled in the river bed. The dock area would have been where you mentioned you were now in Elkridge.
