If you're looking to purchase your own pair, I recommend messaging the seller and asking for photos of their actual stock. I find you cannot trust the photos in their ads as they often use photoshopped images of real Balmain Unicorns. I also went true to size, length is fine but a bit narrow for wider feet. So if you have really wide feet, you may want to size up 1 to 2 EU sizes.
I have the real and a tell tell sign off the bat is how the front has a hump where your toe would go. On the original, it’s just flat as it transitions to the hard plastic frontal area. I can also see the sole is clearly made out of cheaper material and that the lines aren’t as prominent. Overall i dont think people would be able to tell unless you’re standing close to someone with the real ones on. Its amazing how well they replicated such a complex sneaker design.
Yeah, I don't think that toe box hump was intentional. It looks more like a deformity, maybe from shipping, or just poor craftsmanship. I got to try on an authentic pair at Holt Renfrew and I definitely noticed other differences. Which colour did you get? I'm jealous! haha
@@fj5 i got the multi color ones i feel like a plain color wouldnt do the design justice. Its a lot of colors for a dude lol but i like to be simple a wear something like margiela’s or go absolutely crazy and get something like the unicorns in a wild color. I didnt pay full price. I actually paid less than half of retail ($540). Still a lot for a shoe but not as bad as $1300 lol. They only had like 2 pairs left when i got them. Always looking for deals

@@fj5 got em from zappos. I think the reason being is that they’re not exactly the go to place for $1000+ sneakers so they probably sat in their inventory long enough for their systems to automatically reduce the price by half. As far as authenticity, i dont think they sell fakes. They’re a know authentic brand with tons of real reviews. The sneakers themselves look really good, the dust bag and shoe box looks and smells legit, the authenticity card from balmain is there as well. If these were fakes, then the manufacturer needs to be making real sneakers lol

Are they comfortable to walk on the street?
I wouldn't walk long distances in these. They're pretty heavy and the toe box is a bit tight and narrow. Maybe they'd be more comfortable if I sized up from EU 41 to 42. I'm talking about the reps. I think an authentic pair would be more comfortable.

I'm normally a Men's US Size 8 and I went with EU 41, so true to size. It could vary depending on the source though. I've seen different levels of reps.
Is it comfortable for walking ?
They're ok for casual walking, like if you want to walk around the mall, but I would not walk very long distances with them.

I think your issue is you bought a cheap rep, ali express not great quality. Especially if they weren't even shipped with box
I didn't really have issues with it, I specifically wanted to make an AliExpress rep video for RUclips. I had a feeling they weren't going to be high tier as these were one of the very first reps available after the shoe released. That and the price point wasn't as high as other top tier reps. Having said that, these are actually better than a lot of the other cheaper reps I've seen on AliExpress (based on the photos).

@@tru3dialect Thanks! Yeah, I anticipate there'll be much better reps coming out in the future. With authentic MSRP around $1800 CAD, the reps will likely be priced a lot higher than AliExpress.

I wear a size 11US. I got the blk/wht (balmain brand not the fake) and they fit perfectly of the same size. Some brands I can do a size 10 1/2 but not with these. Love them but the shoes are huge and when walking you tend to “Rock” my balance seemed off but love them

@@fj5 I’ve worn them two times. One to the mall to flex 😂 then I wore them to a concert (The Weeknd). The mall was to break them in. The concert my feet were fine. They didn’t hurt. I did have some other shoes to wear while driving. The Balmain shoes were to big for me with the gas/brake pedal.

Oh and I’m 5’11….these sneakers added about two inches to my height

Did people expect high quality?
I really want to buy this shoe because it is beautiful and perfect for what I want to do, which is to remove the sole without damaging the structure of the shoe.
I don't step on my heels when walking or running, so it becomes uncomfortable to wear regular sneakers because the sole sometimes drags on the ground and doesn't allow me to flex my feet like I do barefoot.
The only problem with this sneaker is the price, because I'm Brazilian and the price is much heavier for my pocket after the conversion.

You want to remove the big clunky outsole of the shoe? Or do you mean the midsole or insole? I don't really understand what you mean.
