PS: The "thumbs" in vehicle mode actually represent an actual part of the vehicle. I think it's for stability or maybe to break up dirt but the actual vehicle has something that looks like claws on the back. Same with the SS figure's alt mode.

Correct, large dozers have a ripper claw on the back to break up concrete or frozen ground.
@@rogergagne3970 well not concrete, the ripper would be chipped down more quicker, a jackhammer is more reccomended

Well now that I look at this. I'm impressed. Devil saviors version is actually two figures in one. The scoop compressing together was a step in the original 2009 deluxe class while most of the conversion is of the studio series. So they took two figures and put them together basically. Which is really nice.
Tbh idk why the Studio Series didn’t have the scoop compress… it’s too big and in transformed IMO.
This is the best of all set in my opinion. This figure takes the best of SS figure and things from 2009 deluxe figure.

people are confused, rampage fought bumblebee and hes redish orange, skipjack is yellow and combines to devastator, the same design but 2 different characters
Those may not even be them. Considering that there's way more Constructicons in the Bayverse than anywhere else
8:55 Rampage’s robot concept was actually Yellow (with colors exactly like Skipjack), instead of the Red in the film. My guess is they only used the original Yellow concept for the vehicle and combined Devastator scenes and repainted Rampage into Red for the Bumblebee fight, then renamed the Yellow one “Skipjack” to avoid confusion of there being 2 different colored Rampages.

@@PrimeVsPrime Kevin Michael Richardson voiced Rampage in RotF (but was credited as Skipjack). My guess is, Rampage was mistaken for Skipjack, and Skipjack was mistaken for Rampage in RotF (possibly due to its original concept). This name mixup in RotF was later corrected with their various toys.

For a Devil Savior, his transformation seems rather enjoyable compared to their other figures.
I've never had the Devastator figure. A former next door neighbor of mine would always show me the Devastator figure when he came over. We would play with Transformers outside in the front yard back in 2009 and 2010 if I remember correctly.
Brilliant review. Can't wait to have this guy. And I cant wait for you to make the devil saviour review once all the constructicons are out!

The studio series technically does have an elbow joint you just have to sacrifice Lobster mode for Gunslinger mode

@@abstracz1027 the transformation joint can function as an elbow. Giving him gun hands (with the smoke stack guns) instead of stiff lobster claws.

The back thumbs are actually movie accurate and not kibble at all. If you actually google this bulldozer specifically, you'll see that it does have those back yellow components behind the treads.

Another already commented on this, I'm just +1 their comment in case somebody else is doubtful. The "fingers" on the back of the excavator are a retractable support system irl, and they were present on the movie model, that's why they've been there on every Rampage toy so far.

This is one time where I am ok with the Studio Series version. It's more affordable and 3rd parties have now priced me out.

I was playing around with the shoulder guns that are on the back of the figure in vehicle (bulldozer) mode and turned the guns to face each other, nozzles pointing to each other to make them look like pipes going up and down. Makes it hide the fact they’re “guns”. Anyone else??
Part of me will always question why they added those dangling balls in Devastator’s design 😂

I FINALLY got mine from ShowZ. I couldn’t care less for the Hasbro Skipjack. He has an ok bot and decent alt. But THIS guy? Holy shit. The second I got him out of the package he became my favorite DS figure. The quality and detail of this thing makes you wonder how they aren’t selling him for a 50% markup of the current price. I can’t stop messing around and transforming him.

I think Skipjack’s thumbs in vehicle mode represent those spike things similar to those of a tractor and they function similarly, I just dunno what it’s called…

I think they're called earth rippers.
There used to rip into the ground so the bulldozer can easily shift the loose dirt. There especially good if the ground is frozen or there are lots of rocks withing the earth they're clearing.

I always loved the original RotF figure, I liked how he had essentially a spider mode. The new configuration this and Studio Series do works pretty well though.

Definitely the best looking out of the Devil Savior bots in bot mode. The others always had proportional issues because the company pretty much only had the movie to go off from.

I'm still impressed with how Skipjack produce a third thread but is that supposed to be Payload's front truck grill at the top part of Skipjack's Devastator leg mode? It could be Skipjack's front bulldozer grill but I can't unsee an L250 dump truck front grill there.
