- Today I get Haley pregnant. Yup. This is the Stardew Haley pregnancy mod which tells the story of Haleys fears and doubts of entering motherhood and is one of the most wholesome mods I've ever played.

Just FYI, this isn’t the only mod that deals with pregnancy and maternity in Stardew Valley:
There’s the “Pregnancy and Birth Events” mod which adds cutscenes for when the farmer or their female spouse realize they’re pregnant, and the actual baby birth scene.
There’s the “Diverse Stardew Valley Seasonal” which adds pregnant sprites for some of the bachelorettes, including Haley and Penny.
There’s the “Pregnancy Choice” mod which enables you to choose who becomes pregnant in your marriage.
And more recently, there’s the “Visual Pregnancy” mod which adds the pregnant appearance to the farmer.
i remember my first farm sam finally asked me if i wanted a baby and then i fainted in the mines the next day.
tbh tho one of my favorite things about story of seasons/harvest moon is the pregnancy cutscenes the new ones dont have them really :(

I love this mod. Its so cute, but I feel like they did Emily dirty. Maybe she would give her crystals and stuff. But i feel like she wouldnt be that invasive and controlling :(

Mods for the bachelors to have to deal with female farmers being pregnant would be hilarious tbh. “Please babe stop going into the skull caverns and getting knocked out by monsters while mining, you’re gonna lose our child” and then the kid comes out perfectly fine.

Haley actually does visit the Saloon - in the year one Green Rain event. She even mentions how nice it is there.
I first released this mod before 1.6 came out. When I saw that Haley's dialogue during the green rain I thought to explain it away by assuming the event takes place after the green rain, or Haley simply orders for takeout from Emily.
On the other hand, one new line from Haley in 1.6 did make me change how the final event for the mod's update would play out.

When my son was born he was admitted to NICU after an emergency c-section. Insurance covered everything after our deductible, but the bill was well over $73,000.00. Yes, healthcare here in the US is expensive, and nearly crippling to all but those with great health insurance. For me, anything after 6k in one year in covered 100% by insurance, but yeah, having a baby is expensive....very very expensive.
@@adarbyem Yeah, I had an appendectomy last year, which was pretty urgent and very medically necessary for obvious reasons. The hospital bill was 165k for surgery and an overnight stay, since I went to the OR at 9 pm. My insurance refused to pay because the hospital had put in the incorrect billing code, since they charged for an inpatient stay (more than 24h) rather than outpatient (less than 24h) luckily it was cleared up between the insurance and hospital, but I still had to pay about 3k out of pocket in surgical and anesthesia fees.
How can you even live in the US with those kinds of prices??

once 4 or 5 years ago i had a puberty blocker hormone implant put into my arm, took like 10 minutes and 1 lidocaine shot and the final bill (before insurance) was literally 99,000 dollars 💀💀💀💀 And then it had such bad side effects that I got it taken out after like 6 months under anesthesia this time and it was another 12,000 just for anesthesia.. I swear insurance just makes up prices at this point because what?? Especially since a few months ago I had major orthopedic shoulder surgery with 5 implants drilled into my shoulder and 3 hours under anesthesia and the bill was “only” 30k 😭😭 I feel like they use a random number generator at this point because it actually makes no sense
@@lynxone9434 health insurance is required by law, so while the prices on the bill seem crazy you only pay for like 1% of it. For example I had an MRI and the bill said $10,000 or something crazy but we “only” had to pay like $600. Still expensive but not quite as insane as the initial bill. Also at a certain point you reach the deductible and everything is free for the rest of the year. I’m sick a lot so I always meet the deductible and then try to cram in other not urgent appointments before the year is over because it’s free lol 😅. Also for most medicine if it’s at a pharmacy you only need to co pay like 6 cents. At most it’s like 7 dollars copay for meds so it’s not too bad either. (unless they reject your rescue inhaler like me and you have to pay $300 for every inhaler entirely out of pocket so you don’t die 😃)

This is creative and overall good mod, my only issue would probably be how Emily was written, something just feels off with her- but still wonderful mod!
Thank you! I always felt that Emily was going to be overbearing towards Haley when the latter became pregnant. From Haley’s 2 heart event when they argue about who should clean beneath the cushions. It seemed to me that after their parents left, Emily had to step up as the big sister in watching over Haley. Family members often fail to notice that we’ve grown. My intention with a part of this mod’s storyline, was that Emily also needed to undergo some growth and character development before becoming the cool auntie who spoils her niece and nephew.😊
@@CptnMatruz Ah- I see, with that in mind, I can see why you decided to write her in that way, which works fairly well in the end… to be fair Emily is my favorite character so I have slight bias towards her- anyways I will also said I do love the touches you did with the other characters, expanding slightly on past relationships, like Haley and Penny being old friends! :)

Hailey was a good choice for the mod, she is a great character since she start out seeming spoiled and shallow but actually have a lot of depth behind her. Someone like Penny would not really have the same impact. I could see Abigail being fun too since she is younger and a bit weird.
idk I could picture an emotional arc for Penny since she wants kids the most out of all the bachelorettes/bachelors and would be worried about turning out like Pam.

I feel Leah is a bit too grown up for much drama either and Abigail would be odd but probably not super dramatic either.
Maru could be interesting though, particularly if her dad get weird, confused and angry. She would likely read way too many medical books and get nervous while daddy dear will be furious but also happy and very very confused.
Abigail could be interesting as well, I think she would have mixed feelings since she want to become an adventurer and 2 adventurers and a baby is something that could end very badly (and is the plot of a lot of Disney movies).

For any expecting mothers in America.. medicaid has a program for pregnant women... its fairly easy to qualify and you can qualify even with another insurance.. they paid every expense for prenatal care, the birth, and they covered me for 12 weeks after and my baby for the first year for both pregnancies...they also provide free transportation to appointments if you need it. always apply! The worst they can say is no..
