Architects and designers should appear more frequently in these videos - they can speak about their projects in really meaningfull and professional way. Very interesting house with an excellet taste (finally!).
@@tyrellcobb4665 In my opinion, a house tour guided by an architect is still 1000% more meaningfull than those ones by tacky real estate agents. Designers know about their projects a lot more. And this particular house speaks for itself, even without any voice - it has a strong, modern line, beautiful natural materials and all rooms are complementing each other very well.
It’s in the Valley. Not nearly as prime real estate as the city, e.g. Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, etc. Probably would cost twice as much in those areas.
That moment when you should have pushed your bangs out of your eyes so your rapid blinking doesn’t make it appear as though your hair and eye is having a cage fight.
As I watched this, I felt as though this house lacked private cozy places. Every inch of the house felt so spacious and open. But i'm speaking as though I could afford this property HAHAHAHA
It’s open, but intimate. Large, but small, chaotic but serene. Left, but right. Up, but down. You could fly away with the tall windows, but you’re grounded by the stone elements. It’s futuristic, but historic. 😂
"In the middle of covid, and this was as everybody remembers a very chaotic time" he says. As if this was decades ago and we're not still in the middle of it lol
I came to the comments hoping someone else was gonna say something about that. And this is not the first AD video where someone has spoken of Covid in the past tense. Must be nice to live in whatever alternate universe they're apparently in.
@@vargkvinnan Ikr? I keep hearing people talking in the past tense about the "post-covid"/"post-pandemic" era and I'm like, did I fall into a coma and wake up in the future without noticing?

The tour itself is an experience, imagining it as my home is indeed a blissful dream. I appreciate the home's beauty even more from the detailed, as well as poetic description of features by the designer. The tour was enhanced with him as the guide. How divine! Thank you, the space is magnificent!
The shots with the broker are a bit awkward and overall don’t add to the quality of the work. All these videos need are the architect/designer. They speak to literally everything you’d want to know: the math, the art, the functionality, the intention. There’s so much passion.
EXQUISITE. The materiality, the detailing and my god the execution - it’s a work of art. I almost have no words. Thank you for giving the architect the opportunity to articulate the incredible thought and effort that went into the design. It is hard for those not educated in design to understand how and why excellent design works and he made it accessible. This home and that Ecclestone atrocity could not be further apart. Bravo to the whole team.
That bedroom is beautiful but all I could think of with all the slats and a cathedral ceiling was “That’s going to get dusty so quickly. Like how will the maids clean it? Would you need to have specialized cleaners come in once a month to clean the slats?”
If he wanted a Japanese look, he should have given it hip and gable roofs with wide overhangs. What I see here is simply cold modern style from the 1960s.
why would no one on hair H&M team fix sally’s bangs 😭 i shuddered every time she blinked, that would be so uncomfortable! good for her though for that unbeatable stage presence
All of the marble seems way off to me, makes some of the more textural rustic pieces seem more like an afterthought, some stone without striations but with texture would have made more sense, or even just more shou sugi ban or some limewash, granted this is a 26mil house in CA so I'm sure all of that stone is ideal for saleability
They can't sell it because the designer didn't take into consideration that the house was for other people and not for himself. The quote in the bathroom is a bit much, the layout is weird and that glass upstairs walkway was a bad idea.
This specific usage of ancient Japanese culture in a extravagantly luxurious home doesn't sit well with me. Then to etch a quote from the Hagakure Analects, a reference for living a simple bushido existence, into a 26-million-dollar home, was jarring. I don't find this to be respectful, actually the opposite, bad juju for the next home owner. I genuinely feel this beautiful home could've done without the false 'mystic Asian' narrative or at least a truer execution. No offense to the architect - I'm sure the client had input as well.
I agree totally, it feels a bit wrong. There were small things that were just so the opposite of Japanese culture that add up and make it feel off somehow
Yeah I think it looks very visually nice but the “mystic Asian” narrative and that quote on the mirror hurts it. I feel like it’s like I guy enjoyed Japanese culture and was like “How can I make this into a modern farmhouse, but Japanese.”
Absolutely stunning property with equivalent integral presentation! 👌🏿❤❤❤ I enjoyed the developer's background and understanding of the property. It was practical without coming off as pretentious. $26m is a fine price! 🙂 Hopefully it sells for just that or even more in a bidding war! Kudos to the designer again! 👏🏿
I think its in a bad spot where it is a beautifully immaculate home, but with no views of the city in a very closed off feeling area. Encino is beautiful but very hilly and hard to maneuver sometimes. They didn't show the entry way or street for a reason I assume.
I'd not be surprised. If I'm gonna spend $26 Million on a home I'd want it to be on top of a hill overlooking the whole city and not tucked away in the middle of a rock lol.
@@MarcPhillips817 Yes but a house this size outside of the Valley would probably be 30% more in price. It's only $1,300/sq ft which is very low for such a unique home and a brand new construction. And not everywhere in the Hills, Bel Air, etc. has a good view, anyway.

This home is very masculine. Which I love. I'm actually not a fan of so much marble, especially dark marble throughout but I love how it's texturized.
