Wooo I made it in the video! I'm surprised you didn't go to the wallaby farm though, I go there sometimes when going through Waimate (been twice to the wallaby farm).
hehe, got there in the end. I kept wanting to just relaxing every time I made it to Waimate and never did make it to the wallaby farm... maybe next time.
Hi Karen another brill Vlog them strawberries remind me of our English summer,as only Spring yet. Jamie is real funny chap ,it must be really interesting meeting interesting people on your travels, well done you doing a great job showing every one the delights of New Zealand magic. We of in our van at the weekend cant wait, even only for the weekend in the Peak District .
We are so sorry of what happened the other week, with the shooting ,we want to give our condolences to all of New Zealanders ,and every one affected across the world ,we are so sorry ,Kim&Chris xx
Those strawberries looked fantastic. Yummy. And it sounds like you need to start making list for your routine work or daily check list if that would help. Again thank for a good Vlog...Vic
Hi Karen, I only discovered your channel a few days ago. I’ve always wanted to do what your doing and travel around NZ. Feeling inspired after watching your videos. It’s funny I happened upon this particular one today, I actually live in Timaru lol.
Hi Karen, OMG that wind 💨 nearly took your caravan my nerves would of been shoot 🙀 I love watching your videos they are very interesting keep up the good work 👍
I thought what you said about routines was interesting. I've spent holidays wild camping around Scotland (I think you call it freedom camping), and I noticed that whilst I enjoyed it, I did spend a large part of the day looking for where I was going to pitch my tent for the night. It wasn't as relaxing as when I've had hostels or campsites pre-booked.
My late grandmother loved New Zealand and made the trip from Edinburgh every few years. She always said it was very like Scotland and I always assumed she was referring to the scenery. After following your posts, I'm now wondering if it was the weather she had in mind - four seasons in one day for sure, just like caravaning here in the Highlands :-) All the best Karen.
I have a question... what is the longest you can stay at an RV park? Most Rv parks here in the states cost $30 a day with sewer, water and electric, but you can stay a full 30 days for $300. Wow that wind was bad. Your backing skills are awesome I was amazed when I watched that.
Attack of the spiders... It's that time of year here (USA) at least where I'm at (Wa) where the spiders will be popping out of the nests soon. They dont eat much...😉 Stay safe!
I slept in my fiat doblo micro camper last weekend! It was awesome but if I want to live in a camper full time it needs to be much bigger! Hard to put on trousers🤣
Always smiling. Such a pleasant vlog. Please don't think poorly of us in the USA because of what our President is saying about Christ Church. We have more evil-minded people than anywhere - I think. Most of us hate this "mor-off" (someone to stupid, to be a moron) Such ridiculous evil. We are all very sad because of your countryman's' suffrage.
So sad to think anyone would be attacked in their place of worship, hatred is a terrible thing and is so common these days, preached by some and praised by others. My thoughts are with you all. Stay safe. I am presuming you have left Christchurch by the time we see this.
Kia Ora: Karen - just a suggestion on pronouncing Waimate if I may - y-ma (as in the 'a' sound in the word c'a'r) -t-e (as in the 'e' sound in the word 'e'gg). The meaning of the word is from two words Wai - water and mate - deceased/dead/bad. This is a direct translation. However, the actual meaning of the word could mean differently from the Iwi - tribe of the area. I don't mean to offend you if I have. Just wanted you to be mindful of our native language and culture as your videos show our country and who we are. Thanks for sharing and showing the world. I do enjoy watching these as this is one day a thing for my daughter and I to be doing as well. But our journey will be about Whakapapa and teaching/showing my daughter where she comes from. That is the goal and we can't wait.
Ahhh my pronunciation is shocking! I appreciate the correction. And that's really very interesting about the name. Bad water maybe? A great plan to show your daughter where she comes from.

Yes, the shooting is very sad and shocking.
It is great meeting different people on my travels around.
Enjoy your trip to the Peak District!
Hope you enjoyed or are enjoying your time in Christchurch. Always enjoy catching up with you and hearing about your caravan life.
Yes, it was lovely being back in a city! I had a few things to buy, haha
Those strawberries looked fantastic. Yummy. And it sounds like you need to start making list for your routine work or daily check list if that would help. Again thank for a good Vlog...Vic

What's the chance that it's based in Timaru! 🤣Great to hear
Hi Karen,

Yes, it was a bit nerve-wracking!

Yes, the practical parts that stop you fully enjoying your surroundings! And you’re right, we call it freedom camping 😀

🤣It does rain an awful lot. The South Island does remind people of Scotland... particularly Dunedin which is influenced by Edinburgh.
Going thru some of your old videos. Which town did you like best? Waimate? Timaru? Oamaru?

Hmm I'm not really sure of the limit. I know someone who's stayed for 2 years... but that wasn't a normal type of campground.

Ahhhh that sounds terrifying!
As someone else mentioned in their comments your eyes as smiling much more in this video Karen, good to see
Rest is the answer!
I slept in my fiat doblo micro camper last weekend! It was awesome but if I want to live in a camper full time it needs to be much bigger! Hard to put on trousers🤣
Oh really! Bit challenging?
You have to do it like changing diapers on a baby. First legs in then lay on your back put your butt in the air en pull up the rest 😂
The RACE TRACK alarm clock?
The Horses were simply there to STIRRUP trouble.
(Sad that you'll probably NEVER read this funny material)
I always try to find sites where I can walk from the caravan. When I get back from a walk, I can put the kettle on and relax.
It makes it much more enjoyable, doesn't it!
I can`t believe it,someone else who cannot stand ticking clocks.
It becomes all I can focus on! haha
7:53 thought it was real bad hail going through the car wash lol
🤣 It was noisy!
I think this is the big storm we had 3 years ago
Amazes me how many places don't accommodate recycling in this day and age....
Just glad I had the room to store it🤣
Any videos after Timaru?
Yes, I interview someone in Blenheim then jump to Picton...
you should get one of those manual camping washing machine?lol
The one that you wind or foot pump? We'll see...
@@TravellingK the ones you wind around fit a shirt and one sock in
❤️
That weather was evil 😳
Hi Karen whats that spooky music sounds good!
I didn't even pick up that it sounded spooky🤣
@@TravellingK sort of mysterious music whats it called if you can name it on here?

All good. I know everyone in America doesn't think the same.
In your country there is a lot fruit!!!!
I guess there is? Just in parts

Yes, it's a sad time here... just something I'd never think would happen in NZ. I'm back in the North Island now.
Ahaaaa
Spooky music in this video
Hi there be safe out there cool clip tho
Glad you enjoyed
so much has happened in 2 years

My home town
Oh Waimate or Timaru?! I was a fan of Waimate :P
Born in Timaru, raised in Waimate.
🤘💪🙂👍
All that thinking makes my brain hurt😂😂😂
🤣Hurts mine too
What was your impression of Waimate?
I liked it! Small cute town with friendly locals 😀
I'm number 8
It doesn’t take anywhere near 20 mins to walk 1km. That sign doesn’t know what it’s talking about.
On the slow side maybe? I didn't time myself🧐
I began to like this beautiful Land, I will taste it inch per inch as soon as possible In Shaa Allah.
Jamie... hmmm not sure about him,
a) stop nosing
b) shoes off!!!!
c) don’t be rude about Karen’s caravan/lifestyle choices!!
Yeah you can't trust him, he's dodgy
hehe Jamies a good guy😇I like inviting people into the caravan and hearing their thought.
That weather was evil 😳
Just a little scary!!!
