Same Serenelife in my camper, rooftop unit failed (2016 Dometic). I 3d-printed a flange, attached to hardboard, to adapt to the window. Put a label next to the water heater switch reminding us to open/close the window at the end of the weekend
Funny, we did this also as we had the air failed in our home, we put this unit in our RV to stay comfortable till it was repaired. These are very useful! great share for those that maybe needing an extra kick for staying cool. Good topic Barret!
Had similar unit bought in 2015 for old pop up with no AC. Worked great! Even though I no longer have popup. Still have A/C with zero problems. Used a lot while living in house I was living in while renovating to sell . Great Video!
I had my rig in Key West in the summer and the rooftop unit kept the camper really comfortable. In Pigeon Forge I had the same experience as Key West. This looks like a booster if needed.
We used a similar portable AC unit last winter in FL and in NY during the summer. It did a good job of keeping the main living area cool but not the front bedroom & bathroom. Two months ago I installed a Mr. Cool mini-split 12K BTU AC/Heat pump in our 5th wheel and started using it here in FL. WOW!! It's keeping the whole place cool in 85-90 degree temps. You can't even hear the fan running. No more noisy overhead AC or portable AC in the way. We'll be in the low 40's Sunday so we'll have our first try at using the heat pump. I moved the portable AC back to the enclosed front porch on our house.
Durring the high heat it dosent work well but at night our ac in the rv works good. So we are gonna run our insignia portable ac unit durrinh midday. My lil insignia got me through some tough days living in a room that wasnt air conditioned. Portable acs are awesome.
I have the same brand minus the heating. The issue I have is the vacuum problem. The output duct pushes air out from taking it from the room. Naturally the air that is removed from inside the trailer needs to be replenished. So I open the fan on roof to allow air in. As a result can only cool to the temperature outside. The cold air is being replaced by the hot air from outside
@@seandeyoung01 I’ve never had an issue. I definitely don’t open a window. It’s not going to suck the air into a vacuum. It will pull through slide seals and such. Campers are definitely not air tight
Great video. Totally disagree that double duct units are better, at least for anywhere with hot hot weather. Those pull in the hot air cause the machine to work harder and are LESS efficient according to all A/C guys in yuma az! Also, double your square footage and buy a unit for THAT in Arizona to get enough unit to cool. And last but not least, buy a unit on true BTU amount, not aphere or old reporting amount of BTU! It costs a bit more for larger units, but when its 119' you will be glad!

I enjoy your humble honesty. A true Southern DIYer, trial, error, learn, redo. 😊
This was a great follow up. I always like to see review follow ups after long term usage. Lifting the unit to drain once a month is not to bad.
This will actually probably be a hotel trip but those are pricey as well

Would my 2003 forest river support a unit this big with out power tripping

It makes the wife happy. I like it more for the heater in the winter personally lol

This does help quite a bit, but as you said I'm sure that split unit works a lot better.

Be careful, some of them will pull up sewer smell if either tank is open.
What ac system is this?
SereneLife SLPAC Portable Air... www.amazon.com/dp/B07RMZV7W4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It has a heater too. Works good I just wish the drain system had a better design
