Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
Dual hose units are better. The single hose units pull warm air from other locations and will never shut off, because they will always need to cool the warm air that got pulled into the space. With dual hose units, the machines will shut off when the air reaches the temp you set up, because it doesn't pull in outside air that would need to be cooled. Also, there are machines that come with water pumps that will automatically pump the water out through the window when the condensate tank gets full.
Its a low ammount but you can isolate it further, there are some hose covers. I use jackets. The real bad thing is that they keep sucking warm air into the room once the desired temperature is reached, therefore, they remove the cold-air from the room.
I like to roll the machine right up to my ear when I sleep, sometimes I use it to keep my pillow from moving off the bed at night, In winter I use a heated blanket and I wrap the cord around my neck to keep it close and handy!
No lg is not it , do not buy !! mine didn’t last a whole year before it stopped cooling and thank god I my warranty was still available to get my money back and now I’m looking for new trusted brand like the artic king that lasted 3 yrs but I don’t see it available on market anymore
Misleading reviews and probably just BS. Here one way you can tell. He talks about a 14000 BTU and a 6000 BTU unit both being suitable for a 550 sq/ft room. The Whynter unit can barely keep up in that size room and it is way more efficient with having a dual hose system. There's NO way he tested all these units. I need to keep my comments respectful while being disrespected and deceived by this content creator. So fudge ewes is appropriate.
I recommend putting these on a 3-4 inch heavy Plastic foam pad - to de-couple their vibration from the floor. If you live in an apartment building, the neighbor below you will love you for it.
@@j.l7029 We bought one last summer it's quieter than our window unit and literally turns our bedroom into a fridge. To answer your question yes you could.
All portable air conditioners are bad because they keeep sucking warm air into the room, unless they are dual hose, or at least, a 2-way valve that allows them to recirculate air through the room once the desired temperature is reached.
There are 2 things to consider when getting a portable a/c #1 SACC ratting it's the newer more accurate ratting #2 Single hoses create negative air pressure in a room causing air leakage into the room. We bought a Midea duo portable a/c last summer and it cools our bedroom like a fridge and it's quieter than our window unit it replaced 14000 BTU old ratting 10,000 BTU SACC new ratting so it's very efficient for a portable a/c.
I never understood why anyone would want to pull hot humid air from the outside. I want to pull the hot air from the room and convert it to cold air which is already decreased in humidity since it’s the same air from the room rather from the outside. Like putting you car A/C to recirculate which cools the cabin much faster.
@@nunosapunso6239 i think you are confusing single/dual hose. the second hose is there to pull in air from the outside which is then used to cool the condenser before being exhausted through the second hose. there is no air exchange between the inside and outside, exactly like in your car example. this is different with single hose units: since they also blow hot air out the window, new air must somehow enter the room to fill the void, otherwise you would create a vacuum. and the only place for this air to come from is the warm outside
@@jaro1454 incorrect. I have the Whynter dual hose. The owners manual even states that if the outside temps and humidity are higher than inside, it’s suggested to disconnect the intake hose and place a pre filter on the intake port so inside air can be used. It may cause a vacuum but it’s easier on the condenser.
just throwing a question up, because i really don't know who or where to ask it, so i'm hoping a smart person can give me some insight: i bought a portable a/c because i'm in a basement suite & couldn't use a window unit. i do get a lot of grit & dust coming into my suite, & i'm concerned it's going to go right inot the exhaust pipe & into the unit. is this a legitimate concern? it doesn't look ik ethere's any kind of filter keeping incoming dust out of the unit. is there any kind of filter i could put over the exhaust pipe that would prevent dust coming in, or would anything like that block the air outflow? hope i'm making sense. thanks.
NEVER BUY SINGLE HOSE! Also, never listen to anybody that recommends a single hose either. It creates a vacuuming in you home and brings in air from the outside back into your home

yes, this seems to be a piece of information consumers don't know. I won't even consider a single hose unit
Funny, I cannot find any online reviews of Dreo's dual-hose version of theirs, model AC515S, only the single-hose version.
What about the heat that radiates from the hose into the room?
Wrap it with silver thin insulation

I would like to choose one that don't need constant manual draining or dumping water out to run.
@dejavu4063,
You would have to buy a self evaporating portable AC. They're very good and stress-free!

Disappointed that you didn't review the Toshiba even though you showed it in "thumbnail"/ title.
It was a "Infomercial" Toshiba probably didn't participate.

😂😂😂
LG👍
He forgot to mention the water drainage from de condensation. In Florida you can pull 5 gallons of water for Day , this AC pulling air from outside .
Midea Duo 14000 is the best hands down.
Do you recommend it to keep it running day and night?

Someone should make one with an r2d2 case

YES !!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!
Me: *Now looking for an r2d2 decal or model.
And why isn’t the condensation exhausted through the exhaust hose?
Because it works by compressing the air which then turns the water vapour into a liquid.
That liquid ain't easy to then blow out of a 6inch duct.
I want one that has a dryer exhaust. For gawds sake! An insulated exhaust hose is a necessity.
Insulate it yourself..I did..with thin silver insulation
80 degree weather ??? LoL how about 115 in the shade lol 😊
The test 90 + degrees not 26 Celsius. Thats not a test

none of these are dual hose, which means they are inefficient. IMO noone should consider a model that is single hose
Thing is with them they dont cool as well..just wrap your hose with insulation
Very handy to know, I just don’t like the duct feature
would you prefer releasing the hot air into the room with you?
Wrap it with insulation
How can i get one at central africa GABON?
