    Picking up the trash is probably thee BEST offering a person can give the spirits. It is an offering of your time, and an offering of your care. I am sure the spirits appreciate that as much as they do the honey and the incense. Thanks for showing this to us and spreading your wisdom!

    I usually pick up around natural areas and clean it up to offer to the landaettir. They often appreciate getting rid of pollution lol.

      I personally feel like they can die or be removed if humans destroy the area and that it's very hard to get them back into the area so helping keep their areas clear is great

    Love the demonstration and the location you picked. Natural honey is a great idea. At the suggestion of a Native American friend I spoke with, I use pipe tobacco or corn meal, because the spirits in North America tend to like that and are used to getting it. I make sure not to copy any Native ritual formats and do it my own way instead, out of respect to their cultures, but the land spirits themselves don't belong to any culture and they love tobacco. I wrap them in something biodegradable like burlap or non-dyed tissue paper, tie it off with twine and leave it there for them after the ritual.

    I drove to Point Reyes here in California earlier today and played some music to the ocean with my acoustic guitar. I got a vibe that she enjoyed it.

    Why do so many other Norse pagan channels seem do dislike TheWisdomofOdin , a lot say it’s because he “tries to tell his subs ( which I’m one of) that the way he does things are the only way but he literally makes it a point in almost every video to say “ you have to find what works for you “ and that “ there is no right or wrong way to practice, if they’d only bother to actually watch more than 1 video they’d see that

      THIS! I believe I watched the video you speak of a while back and thought the EXACT same thing, he makes a point in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS VIDEOS that you need to find your own way of doing things. If we're talking about the same person, he turned off the comments because apparently some people from this community were harassing and threatening him, which is also not cool, despite the divergences in opinion, we have to show these people who are actually envious someone is showing what our faith is all about to the rest of the world regardless of their origins, that we are better than just blatantly insulting them, because that puts TWoO in a bad spotlight.

      Jealousy at how well he is connecting with people, trying to hold him back. Honestly I think the Norse Pagan community should be so glad to have Jacob (Im a pagan but not Norse), he is putting out stuff which is boosting the whole community in a really dignified and appealing way.

      I hardly ever comment in comment sections. That being said, I just defended Jacob in some guys video. He responded & I responded back. And after that he couldn’t say anything. I’ve never met Jacob but I’ve been around enough bad people to know if someone is bad or good. I can tell Jacob is kind and genuine. And is passionate about our beliefs. I support you and your channel brother, and look forward to gather with you and our folk. Skål!

    I love your message Jacob. Your respect for Nature, it should be what all us Pagans feel and act. Its such an important message. Give back to nature, and clean up after ourselves. Yet another beautiful video!!!

    If I know that I'm going to be out of and about in nature, I'll bring some small crystals and natural beads to leave as well. I'm not a Norse Pagan, I'm an eclectic Wiccan, but the idea of leaving behind a small token of thanks is apparently universal 😊

    This was not what I was expecting. The way I see it is that nature gives us everything we have, so we can't truly give material possessions to nature. I see honey as something that was taken from the bees, so it's not really ours to give. I was expecting the gift to be something more like a song or dance.
    I'm not here to say that your way is wrong, because I think just the act of giving thanks and being thankful is so important, and I think that what you said about there not being only one way to give thanks is so true.
    Thank you for sharing this with us. It's a good reminder that we should always be respectful and thankful to nature for what we are given. I have always been thankful during my hikes, etc, but I really like the idea of doing a little ritual and giving an offering. I plan to incorporate my own version of this into my practice from now on. Thanks again for this little video

    Thank you for making this. I’ve been trying to figure out offering that’s safe. I never thought of hunny. In books they say inside offering but I’m afraid of my cats and some say outside but afraid of hurting other animals.

    Sometimes I just pour honey on the rock or somewhere safe for the bugs and creatures to get at. The gift must be representative of your intent. Also yummy 😋

    Did you make the incense or who made it? The bees made the honey and the cows made the milk so it's not much of an offering when the bees and cows were robbed.. is it really?

    This may ruffle some folks up, but it has been part of my rituals to include offerings of blood. Both of myself, tribesmen and of animals. I realize that is not for everyone, but what are some opinions of others, and yourself?

    • @wisdumbteeth
      @wisdumbteeth 3 года назад +1

      personal i believe blood sacrifice is very powerful and a great practice if done correctly. i believe that if you are going to sacrifice an animal’s life, it should be an animal you’ve raised yourself. i believe in quickly and humanly killing the animal in a calm and stress free environment. then i think that as little of the animal should go to waste as possible. as far as human blood i see no problem as long as everything is consenting, clean, and not potentially triggering for anyone around who may have struggled with self harm.

    • @thewal1ofsleep
      @thewal1ofsleep 3 года назад

      Foolish. You're not actually "sacrificing" anything by offering animal blood in this time period, and why would the gods or land spirits want your own blood? I think it's insulting to the gods and spirits, and dangerous to yourself and others.

    • @wisdumbteeth
      @wisdumbteeth 3 года назад

      @@thewal1ofsleep how are you not sacrificing anything by offering an animals blood? what does the time period have to do with anything. honestly i agree tho that offering human blood without actually killing the human (which is obviously ill advised) is kinda just gross and dumb.

    • @thewal1ofsleep
      @thewal1ofsleep 3 года назад +1

      @@wisdumbteeth historically, animals were sacrificed because they were depended upon for survival. In this age, that's rarely the case. One could make the argument that a farm animal raised by the practitioner or hunted and killed could have the same impact as a blood sacrifice in bygone eras, but considering humans are unlikely to risk starvation by doing so, it seems like an empty sacrifice. I'm a meat eater, but animal blood sacrifice seems cruel when there are countless other options for our gifts to Gods and Spirits. Whatever floats your boat.

    • @Slatari
      @Slatari 3 года назад

      @@thewal1ofsleep I'm not referring to purchased animals, this is home raised. And I'm querious what your opinion of an acceptable sacrifice is? If the age we live in draws your concern because of availability and needs, then I see the highest value in some form of self sacrifice. Be that bodily, a dedication to knowledge, or even one's labor from self improvement or physical challenges. These are my opinions, but I have not heard what yours are, only your disapproval.
