While I personally declare myself as a Norse Pagan, I speak on topics that also involve aspects of Asatru, Heathenry, and other pagan identities such as Slavic/Celtic/Germanic paganism.

As a fellow norse pagan, who is also a highschooler.. I wish for your advice, freind. How do you practice your faith when in a house of a different one? I need advice, my family doesn't know of my beliefs and I practice alone at night. I can't send offerings or use candles in my rituals. Please, if you have any advice, tell me!

I think he’s referring to how there are many pagans who say “no, you’re doing it all wrong, I’m doing it right”. Those kinda people, and trust me, I’ve seen lots of them, and it’s annoying. I love this gentleman tho, I just recently started practicing paganism and thankfully 99% of those pagans I’ve met are very wise and open people.

@@mandalorian1994 I believe a more accurate description of this mindset would be arrogance which is all to common place in many religions because despite what fundamentalists would like to think religion is very plural and is constantly changing because people don’t stay the same so why should the gods or god.

Ive always felt connected nature and today I was leaving my house on a windy day and I felt a weird feeling and stepped back, I apologized for any transgretions I made and I saw lighting in the distance very close to my complex. I came back to watch this video to ask for protection from Thor while I get my phone from my car. When I closed the ritual, the storm which was now rain felt much calmer and when I stepped out and got my things there were little to no rain drops on compared to the down pour that was really happening. I trust in nature and now I just returned back and wanted to say thank you.
I gave away 4 garlic cloves and used a candel to create a place for Thor to hear me. This all happened a day after I discovered that I wasnt giving myself as much self-respect as I used too. Maybe this was a wake up call, I dont know but thank you nonetheless.

This is pretty good, it reminds me more of what Hindus do than Wiccans and such, especially how you offered flowers. I've mostly been reading about Chinese folk religion in order to create my practice. I'm going to have an ancestor tablet made in the style of Chinese ancestor tablets, but I'll probably just have an Odal rune carved on it to represent all of them instead of writing out the names of ancestors in more detail.

I'm rather new to norse paganism, but it feels like the right path for me already. It honestly makes me tear up seeing videos like this because I just can't wait to offer to the gods and spirits that have pulled me through so far, it makes me almost feel ashamed that I could never give back something that's enough. But I also discovered my love for plants and gardening some time ago and in the last days almost all of my plants have gone very sick, which showed me a sadness I haven't felt for a long time. Over the last months they've become like a family to me, I didn't know a person could feel something like that towards plants, but overtime I discovered so distinct personality patterns in them and there is no way this sickness is a coincidence! I want to prove my strength and durability and heal them as good as I can and make my first ever offering to the gods with the healthiest batch of flowers and fruit my plants will bear!
Thank you so much for sharing your video, this really helped me and I can't wait to have my own offering ceremony!
    Greetings from Germany ~

In my faith of Zoroastrianism we also revere the natural elements and the spirits that reside in all good things, we too make Offerings to the waters, the earth, the plant kingdom, the sun moon, stars and fire amongst many other things. One of such offerings to the spirits of waters that is the lady Anahita Izad, is the offering of a mixture of milk, grass, rose petals and fruit seeds. We mix such a mixture together and go to a stream or a river and start reciting manthras from the holy Avesta and upon certain words we give an offering of a spoonful to the waters and so give “Zour” or power to the spirit residing in the waters and so strengthen the good creations. I love to see such practices being practiced by other fellow humans in whatever shape or form that suits them and their culture. Much love from a Zoroastrian 🔥☀️🌹

Hey Jacob, relatively new Norse Pagan here, I'm just curious if after the ceremony whether you left the offerings there or did you clean up after a while? I've been reading A Practical Heathen's Guide to Asatru before I found your channel and wanted to know your thoughts.

If the offering is biodegradable or will be eaten by local wild life. I always leave it. If I give offerings in my home I usually burn them. I’ve left food outside my house, and it doesn’t go well for apartments and neighbors 😂 the most important thing is that once you offer something you can’t use it again.

Freyja stands for feminine power; fertility, love, and war. In that way i can build self confidence and learn about my worth, though researching her and looking into correspondences etc. Its not like a "i can hear them speak to me!!" Kinda thing, its about learning, research and growth. Its the inside.

I’ve always preferred to think about honouring the sacredness of the space rather than creating a sacred space, when outside in nature obviously. I feel that any natural place, any river any rock, is already sacred and we just need to acknowledge it and celebrate it. Different story indoor, the sacred space there has to be actively created. Just my personal opinion. I’m loving your channel Jacob, thanks. Big hug from Scotland.

You should really do a podcast too. I love your videos. But I can't watch them while I work. Lol. I can listen to podcasts though. And I'm new to Norse paganism and I'm desperately trying to gather as much info as I can. You're channel is my favorite so far. Seriously, podcast! It'd be totally wizard, man!

@@TheWisdomOfOdin I have been a Norse pagan for 13 years now and ever since I started watching your videos I grown to love your positivity towards spreading paganism itself throughout the online communities and I know that you have helped become more connected to Odin the all-father and all the wisdom he has brought me and it has been only love but I should get to my main point, I have created entire sagas and poems to spread Norse paganism like the Icelandic poet, " Poetic Edda", would you like to read any of my sagas or poems?

Nice intro. Is it something your wrote yourself? You are obviously more extroverted than myself, but this has given me something to consider when making offerings to the gods or spirits. I've always imagined that water spirits have a good sense of humour, so it probably had a good laugh watching you filming this.

Hello, so, first of all, this video and your words were enlightening, thank you so much.
I wanted to ask for help, if I may: I recently reconnected with my spirituality and with the goddess Hel, and I wanted to start paying the proper offerings and use the proper runes to connect and feel her presence, wisdom and guidance, but I can't find a lot of infos online...
Could you, perhaps, have any advice?
Thank you so much in advance!

I'm in Tennessee, USA, and the only woods that I can go to and get lost in and just be alone are off trail in the National Parks and battlefields. Not only do I not want to commit a felony, but I don't want to permanently scar anything unmovable in nature. What I do is take a river stone and carve or paint that and place it on the bigger rock with my offerings. We've gotta do what we've gotta do to live pagan in these days!

I am not a pagan, but I find this incredibly interesting and it reminds me of an experience I had in Hawai'i.
I was visiting my family, who are native Hawaiian, near Honolulu. We hiked up to a Heiau (an ancient temple). While we were there, a little tutu (grandmother) walked up to the wall of the heiau, placed a lei and flowers at the temple wall, then prostrated herself in prayer. I dont know that I believe in the old gods of Hawai'i, but it struck me as powerful. As my grandfather says "I'm a christian man, but theres things in those islands I cant explain."

I am a Huna (Polynesian Pagan)
There are a lot of people in the South Pacific who still worship the Polynesian Gods, especially here in Tahiti (French Polynesia) the ancestral homeland of Hawaiians, Maoris and Rapa Nuis.
When you go to a Heiau (Marae in Tahitian) know that each rocks represents an ancestor/family, that’s why you could be personally connected to one and you could be connected and have links to some all the way here in French Polynesia as well.
Also if that interests you, look into the Ho’oponopono, a traditional healing chant

Hello, could you please give any idea on what to give the goddess Rán? Other than gold and seaweed (cause why would you give the sea something that you took from her?). She's my matron and she's very clear about what she likes and dislikes to me, but of course I like researching her history and find "new" stuff. So... any information? Thanks a lot. It's refreshing to find your channel after years of following this path on my own

I want to follow the way of my ancestors, but I don't know how to sense a spirit or god. I could go to a lot of effort just to feed the birds. How do you know when a spirit is there and how do you get to know the spirit?
Also, do you think any Norse spirits would come to me in Australia?

    • @AsatruMetalhead

it doesn't matter where you are.
just try to get away from the noise of everyday life. connect with nature or try meditating. don't ask the gods for help or advise outright (especially not oðin, because my guess would be, that he would want you to achieve greatness yourself. to make sacrifices to gather wisdom). invite them to join you
i have not yet had contact with the gods or spirits, but that would be my advice

Another Australian here and yes Norse spirits do come here. I always pay respect to our indigenous spirits and guardians first by acknowledgement of country, explaining why I am there and asking permission to continue. I have a small smoking ceremony out of respect and once I feel welcome, I will make my offerings.

Hey Jacob, first of all thank you really uch with this video it helped me to do an offering better than i actually do. I wanted to ask you since i never had the chance to give a real offering to the gods yet, can i give an offering to all of the gods the same way you did because i favour every gods ? And what to do with the offering after the ritual ? I had a great feeling in this video and i will find a hidden spot in the forest far away from society to connect to them even more ❤ Stay healthy and be save, Skål 🍻

If you could help me with something of a ritual that would be great.
I connect alot with Skaði, specially when I go to the mountains and when winter comes around. But I dont find anything about offerings for her or better runes. I usually use winter berries, crafted arrows, and flowers. But what would you suggesst as far as runes and how to channel her more?

    • @TheWisdomOfOdin

I would definitely recommend forging a bind rune to connect to her. The first rune that comes to me Isa. Then perhaps Sowilo to show the transference of energy. Perhaps Jera for the season change? If you’d like email me at thewisdomofodin@gmail.com and I can help you create one to connect to skadi more
