Thank you again! I am really loving all these weekly projects. I am learning so much and each piece goes into my journal. I now cant stop stitching! 🤩 I am so enjoying it, before I came across your channel I really didn’t think I could stitch. Thank you so much for all these wonderful videos. Xx
Beautiful Story, love this week's stitch along. My Eldest Son passed on Valentines Day 43 years ago @ 4months old. and have always created something in his memory every year, and I place them in my memory box. Love your Tribute and work in their Memory. Huge Hugs from NZ xx
This is yet another inspirational page. As I watched you stitch each little scrap on the page, it reminded me of all the little daily routine chores done to indirectly express love for others: taking out the trash, doing dishes, cleaning, running errands, etc. Little scrappy chores that make life brighter. I am keeping up on the pages even though it takes me the entire week sometimes. At some point, I will be doing a separate video to show my progress. Thank you for another page🌷🌷🌷
Love this! Grannies are one of the BEST things in life. I didn't know my real grannies but had priceless substitutes. Thank you Wilma and Gertrude, both of whom taught me to sew among other things. ❤❤
Really lovely when common themes come together across fellow creative souls. Yesterday I shared a video using a very old and worn linen tea towel from my nanna and grandpa to make a slow stitch fold out heart. 💛 It’s wonderful when we can stitch memories into our work. Cheers, Christine p.s. and laughing now about your “spat on silk” or poor (wo)man’s iron 😆
And laughing at myself with the handwritten shopping list reference. Today my partner asked me why I wanted “dead ant” at the supermarket. Turns out “deodorant” did really look like that when quickly written on the fridge shopping list while cooking dinner 😆
What a beautiful connection of your Grandmothers, your adorable little heart is such a fitting tribute to them. I didn’t want this video to end, enjoyed it so much, thank you again for sharing
Thank you Tracy, I was watching some of your videos last night while journalling. Lovely to hear your processing with regards to how you assess your work, can't remember how you put it, duh! It was late! But it WAS interesting! Looking forward to catching your other videos. 😁❤️
I agree. No worries at all if the lines of thread are not straight etc. It’s slow stitching, relax, people who criticize have to try, it’s easier to say than do. I love your videos, French from Brittany in France ;-)
I think grannies are so important in our lives (and grandparents in general, I had a wonderful relationship with my paternal grandfather). I lived with my maternal grandmother (the one I use to talk about) until I was 39, when she passed away. She was a bit of a harsh woman, because of her difficult youth, but she passed on to me many things, she didn’t say do this or do that, but I learnt from watching her. My paternal grandmother was the second most important person in my life (the first was my mother), she passed away when I was 27 and we were best friends, she was the most amazing grandmother and I miss her till this day. That being said, I loved this project that I will surely make one of these days, even because both my grannies were friends and I have photos of them together. I adore French knots. I often do them without the tension on the thread so they look loopy and crazy! I love it 😂 Thanks for showing Fredfred. I was a bit sad he didn’t say hello 👋🏻, but, well, I forgive him 😂 See you soon, Kathryn, I so appreciate your company 🩷💛🤎💙🤍💚💜🩵♥️🧡🩶
It’s the wee hours here but I couldn’t sleep and was so excited that I could watch you earlier than usual! Lol Of course I didn’t actually work along but I’ll re-watch and do that later. What a wonderful idea. The Valentine’s connection of your two Grandmothers- that’s just intriguing! My paternal grandmother was born on Valentine’s Day. She inspired my creative side with her quilting. She was a very loving Granny. I live in her house now (if only for a while). She’s been gone now for decades. Thank you for stirring memories, I had actually forgotten her birthday was upon us!
This was a wonderful project, fit for Valentines Day. I did not like my scrappy heart, well, until I did a bit of stitches on it. Now, it feels lovely, and it changed into a new cloth. Thanks for the inspiration. I think we all have our DNA in our projects in more ways than one!! LOL. Like your naughty (and Mine) needle in mouth! I hear your voice now every time I change my thread. I loved to stitch with you on this one. Thanks for being you. Happy Valentine's Day.
That was a lovely project. I did my heart with my two brothers in mind. They were twins. They have both passed over now. It was healing for me to stitch with them in my mind x
Happppppeee valentines to you & your viewers . Loved the spit on cloth Reminded me of my mother when she used to take the handkerchief out then cleaned round your face With it fond memories . Have a great day all where ever you all are . Away now to look at rust dying . Thanks once again peter ❤ Scotland xxx
It’s 4am here in the US- but I couldn’t sleep & found you creating. There was a time when I would have jumped right up to join in- but I’ll wait a few hours till daylight.
Good morning @Jaynewood6714 I just read the comments - after I had commented about being up in the wee hours! It is now 4:21 a.m. Central time. I’m now switching to something a little boring to watch so that I may grab a few more winks!
Really pretty Kathryn. I liked the fact you did it for your Grandmas. I have lovely memories of spending time with my Grandma. She taught me to knit and started me off naming wild flowers when I was little.
I love the word cattywampus! Per the internet it comes the Southern US and is used in the Southern US today. However, I'm from Michigan which is pretty far north in the US and while it's not super common, it is used here too!
My grandmother used to ‘iron’ hankies by rubbing folded, damp hankies up and down the edge of a table. So lovely to see you ‘ironing’ that scrap in the same way
My great grandma used to fold all her washing neatly put it under the cushion of her armchair and sit on it - can’t remember how long she’d have to sit there for though.
This project looks lovely, & I’m very happy to relearn how to do French knots, which I once did quite long ago & unfortunately forgot - I’ve often meant to google them & relearn, but never got around to it. No excuse now! I really like the way the little red knot looks in the black & white photograph of your grannies, K3n! 🙏🐞
Such a wonderful special day for you… I absolutely LOVE your personal story of your grandmother Valentine and other grandmother born on February 14th! ❤ and it’s wonderful that you’ve created something so lovely to commemorate the two of them. Hugs! 🤗
This is looking such a beautiful one to work on….I ve got to go to work now but am happily looking forward to resuming later on today. It s like having a gift to continue unwrapping x Thank you for the lovely projects k3n :-)
It looks like rose petals being stitched down. I just started slow stitching. My goodness it is very calming. One must be present to slow stitch. Just lovely. I of US of A loves your pronunciation of words. ❤
I love this one! I started on it after watching the video and it just took over my day in a very kind way. Once again, thank you for the ideas and skills AND for that wonderful meandering mind of yours!
I love hearing various regional accents, words, pronunciations, and expressions! Lovely!! Thanks for sharing your beauty, creativity, interesting ideas, and humor. I, too, lick my finger to make a knot when threading a needle. A little saliva can be a useful thing. My great-grandmother's surname was Valentine, my granny's mom. Happy to remember that today! ❤❤❤❤❤

I love your scrappy heart and the sentiment behind it, K3n. I was so inspired (and I had a lot of pink scraps from a doll quilt I made for my granddaughter) so I finally jumped into the FB group with my own slow stitching. Happy Valentines Day to everyone.

This one is outside my comfort zone and will push me to finding a safe space for relaxed stitching. The rebel in me resists social holidays that strongly associate color and shape with a day. I'll focus on the lovely sentiment behind your story and draw from that, remembering my Gram.
Kathryn that's beautiful! I love the tip about painting cloth to use. I would like to try dyeing some with avocado skins, varying strength/time for different shades...plus I get to eat the avocados...win win!!! 🥑🥑🥑 Happy Valentine's Day to everyone 💟 Mary x
