    Its an assholes car - its long, its wide, huge, sits only 2 comfortably, its an enigma wrapped in a paradox. Interior has leather everywhere, its quiet and refined inside. In the UK we have a twin turbo diesal option which after a stage 1 does 0-60mph in less than 5 second but return 50mpg. I have one - I love it.

    Bought a 640i recently. The shape, speed, comfort and uncommonness stood out to me.
    I don't like the new overly aggressive look in the new beemers - it's being overdone and they all look so similar now. I think this car is one of the few pretty beemers left.
    I don't have kids but they'll easily pop into the back once I have em. The boot space in my coupe has 460L, which is pretty good. The interior is comfy; this car is not meant to be sporty, it's meant to be a luxury grand tourer.
    I understand the arguments for the 2-5 series, but they're so common where I live I lost interest in them.

    I know someone that had this but the convertible and it was perfect as he was a young wealthy man with a wife so it was fun and the back seat was perfect for his 2 kids that were in elementary school and plenty off room in the trunk for soccer supplies

    • @Schaufelor
      @Schaufelor Год назад +2

      That´s what i think. Even with 2 kids, this car is actually practical for several years. No problem. I think it is a great car and i would never want a 3 or even 2 series. Just too small.

    640i is reported to be the reliable choice. No diesels in the USA for this model. Kids are gone and hours away. Grew tired of my retirement (own for the rest of my life) Lincoln LS, 13 year ownership and very reliable. Multiple two seater toys in the garage. Needed an new toy. Wife purchased a 4 series 10 years ago, 600 miles new. Too small for me. I remember a 6 series convertible in the showroom when they were new. Gorgeous car. Well I realized a GT was an appropriate choice but didn't want another four door. Looked for a few months for a low milage, no salt rust belt, 640i (not 650) in an acceptable color combination. So far well pleased with my selection/purchase. Quiet, smooth, highway drive for hours car. If I want wind in my hair and noise, I'll take out a toy in from the garage.

      I genuinely dont understand why they didnt, these were sold up to 2018-19 and still didnt have B58 unlike 440i and 540i. I would buy 1 in a heartbeat. n63tu is superfast but also super garbage.

    BMW's medium and big coupes from the last decade look like Mustangs from the side. The kind of person who buys one of these doesn't need a back seat.

    The 6 series was replaced by the 8 series in 2019. And like the 6 and 4 series, there's a Gran Coupé of it.

    Guy at work had a 2014 650i X-Drive and it was great when running properly but the quality was horrible. The transmission went out at 20K miles, passenger seat motor failed around the same time, fuel system had pressure loss dealer was unable to repair for months, it went into limp mode reduced power at least a few times for various reasons, some $8 coolant hose required $1500 in labor to replace because it was considered a wear item and not covered by warranty, etc. Most all other stuff was covered by warranty. He paid around $100K to buy and got $25K in trade on it. Nothing wrong with that if you know what you are getting into. This is not a car for anyone in the used car market thinking they will get a bargain price for a premium car. It will bankrupt you as something completely out of any warranty coverage.

    as an owner of 640i x drive convertible - you said leave comments on why we like them: You complain that it's big, that's one of the things I like about it, not scrunched up in it, if I get hit / have an accident, there's girth around the car. Your fixation on the rear seat being tiny - I never use the rear seat except to place groceries into it when the top is down. So-stop acting like it's some abomination to have those back seats, think of them as shelves and nothing more.

  • @matthewnicholas6365

    No idea why this proposition is so difficult. Grown ups don't always want hard edged leary M cars. I own an e46 M3 and dare not leave it in a station car park all day. When my wife sits in it she moans constantly about the noise, the rattles, the bumps, all of it. A big GT is for people who have no need for back seats (or another car) and want a nice looking car that eats miles and doesn't worry you.
    I'd stick a 650 in a train station car park and forget about it for the day.
    I wouldn't put an M4 in there at all. I'd rather walk in the pouring rain!
