I only started card making late last year, but I have already learned so much from watching your channel. Back in high school, I had an awful art teacher who, rather than her, supporting, my weaknesses would criticise me, while heaping praise on the students who were naturally talented and really didn't need her help. I'm not naturally talented, but I'd enjoyed being creative in elementary school where your creativity is encouraged no matter what your skill level is. It has taken me until I turned 53 to realise I can make something beautiful and artistic without it being a drawing.
This really speaks to me, I'm not very talented in most arts and crafting life this bridges the gap between my lack of skills and my need to be creative.
Am I the only one panicking when Simon uses the heat gun over his open container of embossing powder? I’m the girl who has blown the powder everywhere- only once!! LOL! Gorgeous cards and now I have to get more lunar paste!!
When my daughter was younger, her school friends liked to come and make cards. One of her friends did not like to be shown how to do things and always tried to get ahead. One day she started my heat gun up and held the card directly over the brand new jar of embossing powder. Because of the angle she was holding the card at, not only did it protect the powder from flying around, it also blocked my view of the embossing powder. And because it was so close to the jar, the heat from the gun melted all the powder in the jar ☹️. I leant my lesson - no children have been allowed to use my heat gun with embossing powder since then.
Yup! I’ve seen other RUclipsrs do it as well. The one the really gets me is when they pour the powder over a small piece of paper over their MISTI. I treat embossing powder like glitter-2 coffee filters, a box lined with floor swiffers to catch the whole affair. I can’t get it back into the jar on the first try so I have to catch it in the second coffee filter and try again. LOL
I love them all but I have to say my favorite is the butterfly card. You always amaze me with your use of techniques that everyone can follow and apply to their craft. YOU ROCK, SIMON.
Love your cards Simon!! The warped circles with the blue lunar paste on blue cardstock is gorgeous!! The rainbow one with the geometry stencil is stunning and my favorite if I had to pick one!! I love your videos Simon, you always explain everything so well!! ❤

The Lunar pastes are a game changer along with the tools. Wish more of SS products were available in the UK. I know they can be ordered from the UK but due to customs charges this is not an option. Loved your makes.

What is your secret? I have the Fiskars scissors and when I attempt to fussy cut I have a hard time leaving tge bit of a white border around the edges.

I purchased a scraper but it has black felt on it. What would I use that scraper for?
I believe that one is from Scrapbook com. It is to attach felt and use with alcohol inks. :)
What is the hole for on the scrapper?
You could hang it up.
You can use it to the them on a binder ring or something if you want. :)
