Aw yeah! Super cool seeing all these fallen flags, as well as Penn Central's final years before becoming a part of Conrail!

I was so surprised to see the Louisville, New Albany & Corydon RR boxcar at 16:53. From my hometown! And now owned by Lucas Oil, I believe.

GM 50 was at East Side yard B&O Philadelphia Pa for several months. We caught it on our yard job a few times. Thanks for showing this. E8s bumped. U25Bs. F7s/Sw1500. I bet that 4100 series Chessie was fairly new.

I'll have to watch this tonight (I don't have time now), but I grew up about 10 miles east of Fostoria and spent plenty of time in the Amtrak parking lot at the diamond west of F tower.

Train leaving the T&OC, going north on the Big 4?
Since the line north of Belle Center was probably out of service by then.
North of Kenton is Hill siding, hence the helpers?

Probably Toledo by way of Stanley Yard. I think they were detouring via Berwick around either track work or a derailment.

railroads and trains still played a role in everyday freight movements😁 and people's lives. the divestiture of local lines and bantam carriers pretty much destroyed the allure of the "rails" . the 2020's are flavorless, and bland in all respects. there is no personality, just another business formula. too bad the young of today never got the opportunity to experience the thrill of "real railroading" or a "real train".

With an occupied caboose on the rear, I remember the start of caboose-less operations very well and the HTD I was given to observe the air pressure on the rear end device …

This is an amazing vintage film, however the camera man was pretty sloppy countless times, either intoxicated or jus plain dumb,😭 he shoulda stayed focus on them automobiles on them autoflat cars, he kept zoomn in and out changeing to differt cars quickly, what the hell!!! I was trying to see what make/models they were, good grief, 🤯😵😱, gave me a headache, and he shoulda kept the camera on them huge high cube excessive hieght PENN CENTRALboxcars, WHAT this guy did, however seeing (FEW OF THESE VINTAGE CARS WAS REMARKABLE). He sure focused on them new 3 bay covered hoppers, MNS.
