No they are 4 stroke wit two inlet and two outlet valves per cylinder I worked for Wartsila in the UK quite a few years ago and remember these being developed. They are used in many of the world's large diesel electric cruise ships.
bonkey dollocks ........I do have a set of engine mounts for that application, but you will also have to increase the load range spec of your tires...........LOL!
It could. While these engines don't run on straight crude oil, they use HFO, or Heavy Fuel Oil, which is basically the cheapest, most undesirable sludge you could get from the refineries. But they use it because it's cheap and these engines need A LOT of fuel. And with the advent of Selective Catalytic Reduction and exhaust gas scrubbers, these engines can run very cleanly despite the fuel that they use being only marginally better than crude oil.
Wärtsilä 46 engines exist as dual fuel (DF) versions that can burn LNG and Diesel fuel, as well as normal Diesel engines that can burn HFO and Diesel fuel.
There is also such a Plant in Rhodes where the same engines are installed! Really interesting!
id like to see the exhaust of that thing lol
I love the sound of these engines!!!!! Are they 2cycle??
No, it's a 4 cycle. Wärtsilä no longer has 2 stroke engines.
This is a 4 Stroke.

one engine is 17mw
Will it fit my prius

Yes, your prius will fit inside....
Hi
I am wartsila employe....and i am from pakistan and now duty perforam 200 mw ipp wartsila labrty power tech 18v46 desination Engine room operator
Can it use crude oil?
of corse
ARTHUR KORIR - Probably uses #6 bunker fuel, which is so thick & nasty it has to be heated for pumping. Think tar.
@@ClockworksOfGL not these days, way back yes. Today its all about emissions
No engine uses crude oil. This one uses Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO).

Is the viscosity of the fuel oil used in this engine 18 cst?
Can this engine use natural gas as fuel?
does it need any additional modifications?
