I love Aethana. Getting her to fight is the wrong way to use her. I often end up tabling my tournament opponent or doing massive damage to the guild boss without her doing a single hit to anything. Her best trait is that she is a flier with movement 5 and a 2 hex buff range. This means I can start my turn positioning some of my characters around her. Crit and kill my enemies. Then move her to position that buff my other characters. Then crit again. Don’t forget she buffs damage on top of additional crit chance, no limitation to factions, melee or ranged attack. Also, her two hex buff synergize well summons as well.
I love Aethana. Especially in combination with Eldryon and Maugan Ra. Why? Let me show you… At lvl 50 her active does 3589 on first target, 2792 on the second target and 1994 on the third target. At lvl 50 her passive boosts your team by 400 dmg within 2 hexes. Other Aeldari get additional 299 dmg. Impressive stats… and now imagine what happens when you combine them with Eldryon for example. You have to keep an eye on the positions of your team, but the dmg output worth it I guess.
I think definitely go passive over active. The active always seems a bit underwhelming to me. Nice synergy with Ragnar on the crit boost. I can’t be bothered doing the maths but is it possible to get 100%+ crit chance?
Been using her since i joined (coincidentaly on her hero release event) and got her to epic which was possible to do by everyone back then, my main use for her is at the beginning of arena matches when the enemy team is grouped together and boost Vindicta with her passive to take away chunks of health or directly kill them in case of crits, in case they survive and no other character is able to survive my summons or kill my characters its just matter of cleaning up by using everyone and her passive, shes my favorite character in the whole game.
Aethana had been my best character for almost my entire Tacticus career. Flying, Piercing, Deepstrike, with a solid attack, decent defense and a solid passive AND active. She's a Jack of All Trades and worth the investment in my opinion.
Aethana was amazing in this last draft TA. I loved putting her in on turn 2 and completely shocking the opponent, or even using her on turn 1 to steal one of their power-ups.
I think her active is more valuable as a positioning mechanism than a damage dealer. I like being able to deep strike, get a little damage on a couple enemies starting from the back and ending up in front where my other characters can still maneuver into her buff range. Really helps soften up some tougher enemies. I'm also working on a roster for arena events with aethana, makhotep and a few other key players to have unbeatable mobility and secure those buff hexes pretty much uncontested in the first round
She's great with my 4-Wolves line-up I have her Gold 1 and been able to ascend her to Legendary yesterday. her buff works well with Ragnar's one, and she can easily place in the middle of my pack so they all have double crit buff. :-) She replaced Haarken in my lineup pretty fast when I got her. She plays kinda the same, but with a buff. It's very rare that I use her active, though. Enemies have to be in a straight line with a free hex in front. that doesn't happen often. For Ragnar, I finished at 350/400 and got him on the oh so close payout option. As I had prepared resources, I have him at 36/36, and climbing the ranks. will finish Silver 2 tonight, and have him Gold1 in a few days at most (I finished my stock of necklaces this morning, so silver 3 will take more time than necessary). Oh, yes, Aethana also benefits from the damage buff of Ragnar's active. She's the 'Mommy' to my 'Furries' ^^
She seems like she'd work great with revas for an overwatch team, have never really used her tbh. I successfully unlocked Ragnar an hour before the event ended! He's going to be my 2nd diamond character!
I would say her passive outweighs her one shot active. I had a lot of success in the Ragnar event teamed with Bellator and celestine. Once their summons are out she can boost a ton of different attacks each round. Using her mobility allows you to move her around to the best effect as she does take damage easily. Was missing orbs to get her to legendary and able to use legendary equipment which should give her more survivability.
I would've shared the screenshot, but it's not really a possibility here. So for you to understand how painful Ragnar event was for me - i ended up at 12374 points. I'm free to play, so Ragnar unlocks at 12500. And to top it off - my last token i lost, because i needed 126 points in one run, but if i had one more, then i could've safely get 70 per battle and unlock him.
