His "good hair is your hair" at the beginning really boosted my fucking esteem and made me feel good about being a black woman with black hair. I love black hair I feel like its so versatile and so beautiful but if you don't know how to style it, it can be fucking hard and frustrating sometimes and in the black community there's a lot of beauty standards around hair. When I first heard this song apart from the music video, when he said the lyrics, "this goes out to the shawty with the good hair". I remember being unsure if that felt like it applied and resonated with me like some of his other lyrics in the song. But damn seeing those words was all the reassurance I needed. Such a sweet little statement. I love this guys chill vibes, lyrics and flow. So glad I came across him.
