Today’s was my training with a person at order fulliment and it was hard and Confusing and had a customer tryin to being smart on a order that wasn’t available like how tf do I do this. Pls give me advice because I already wanna quit and plus is always busy where I work

I go through the same working at my store sometimes but I don't let that stop me from what I came to do. There's one guy who's always asking to take me out but I tell him no, I just won't cross that line dating a coworker. I have contractors do the same but I make it known I am just not interested and they keep it going. There's always HR if the coworker bothering you gets to be too much. They do have an open door policy.
being a pretty girl in a male dominated industry is dangerous so i understand completely. i would get harassed almost every day:/ i didnt work at the strip club for a reason and being a delivery driver was basically the same shit
Which one pays more merchandising, garden, paint, or the warhouse?
I think every location is different but from what I know you would have to be a manager or a supervisor to get paid a lot .. first starting off well at least for my location I was not pulling in much

I got hired in garden recovery, but I applied for the freight team. This was only 2nd job ever, first retail one. I did my first shift from 1pm to 10pm on the sales floor. I never realized how much we have to socialize. I'm an introvert, so it's been crazy. I feel like I have a multiple personality disorder when I put my apron and go out on the floor. Lol
The app has been helping me a lot. I'm in garden, but sometimes I'll get stopped by a customer on the way to the break room, and have no idea what item they are talking about lol. I just usually say, "hold on one second sir, let me check our inventory" and quickly search the app thing and get the aisle and bay for them.
But yeah, a lot loading pavestones, bricks, cabinets, etc. Which my body is sore af. However, I'd rather load stuff all day than deal with customers. Not sure how long I'm going to last, but it's cool to get some insight, thanks for sharing your experience.

I applied and I applied for the lot is hard you would say ? And I put that I can work week days and Saturday but not Sundays you think they’ll hire me ?
Its hard I was intimidated but you have to not over think because that’s what I did and they just want hard working people that is okay with being up on their feet all day and can lift heavy boxes and basically is okay with working in a fast paced environment and open to talking to people . I wasn’t like that at first but I started to open up and get out of my comfort zone because I really wanted a job and then overtime I became comfortable every Home Depot environment is different especially people but always be yourself . I think they will hire you but if they need u more available they might just ask u if u can work certain days and hours because I graduated and was out of school I put that I had a flexible schedule just be confident fill in your application and if you’re really dedicated make sure you call them ask for to speak to a hiring manager and let them know you put in your application so they can see you’re serious .

I would have yelled - get your damn hand off my leg! - I work in retail in a very man oriented store and my young, pretty co-worker gets asked out constantly - it can be a real pain being as beautiful as you - sorry you had to go through it - but remember to stand up for yourself.
I just got hired for plumbing. How hard is that or do you know what it’s like ?
I’m sure plumbing is not hard , I didn’t get that department so I wouldn’t really know but It from time to time when I went to go get my returns and it didn’t look as packed as the hardware department was . But every location is different .
After orientation how long till you start
It depends on how long your drug test and everything comes back once that comes back fine the manager gives u a start day to come in to meet your supervisor and do everything with them every place is different though 🙌🏾

How much do they pay a merchandiser?
I’m not sure but the pay rate starts at 12$/hr I got paid 13$/hr but I was only part time
It also depends where you work. I've been working at depot for 2 years, would have been 4 years, but I quit for a year to go to another company. I get paid only 13.55 (they started me off at 13 since I quit, and I've been getting a few cents every time they give a raise which isn't much tbh) my friend works at a different home depot but she gets paid 15$ and my friend as well works at a different location and he gets paid 16$ but he's been with the company for a while now and works overnight. If you work overnight shifts you get paid 1$ extra.
