Just started my first playthrough a few days back as an Argonian Spellsword(Spellspear*). Almost everything is kicking my ass and I absolutely love it. It's channels like these that motivated me to give Morrowind an honest try. Keep up the good work!

I would highly suggest one of the journal mods that lets you organize the notes by quest, keywords, or NPC. It was the single biggest quality of life improvement for me. Have fun
First, as a fan of the original Mephistofeles from Faust, nice username. Second, good luck with morrowind. It can be annoying, it can be unfun sometimes, but when it clicks, its one very unique game (and one of my favorites, if not my favorite)
You can lowkey make more diverse character builds in morrowind than any modern bethesda rpg 🙃
Morrowind has some creepy stuff already, but the scariest thing I've seen was that argonain body with an altmer head in the dim slave pit. The atmosphere and body horror put this mod cleanly into the horror genre.

Hey Micky D, I just wanna say that you, Caffeinated Dad and My Two Pence is the reason im able to experience this great old gem and Daggerfall, tho Daggerfall is bit more frustrating with how the npcs feels like wanna spit on me any given time I asked for a simple direction. But overall, good times and that's because of you Micky D, so thank you.

Why are the faces in morrowind so random, they go from looking like real people to looking like caricaturs of real people to looking like cartoon characters

Morrowind but everything is randomized: the nerevarine exists the imperial office only to discover they’re now leaving Helgen
The Hero of Kvatch makes it through the sewers and finds there's a boat waiting for them. To the east. To Morrowind.
Juib assures the Nerevatch that they're sure to let them go, but as they go to exit the Census Office, the Imperial Captain clubs them in the back of the head.
They wake up in a mysterious cave, and after fighting through a short dungeon they find mail from the Emperor, telling them they are an agent sent there, Daggerfall, to retrieve some scandalous letters.
But when they go to start their journey, a bunch of Imperial Soldiers jump out and knock them unconscious again.
They wake up on a cart, on its way to Helgen, Skyrim, along with Ulfric Stormcloak and Ralof. Ralof sneakily passes the Nerevatch Agent a piece of the Staff of Chaos, before Alduin Shouts at them - opening a rift that sends them to the Battlespire.
There the N'wahborn Nerevatch Agent must help a Redguard find his sister. By playing a card game against Mehrunes Dagon.

25:10 Since the mod randomizes "spells", I think the mod gave the NPC Dagoth Ur's regen/invulnerability.

Going through the "lets max out everything" phase and reading things like
"randomize health points"
minimum multiplier 1000%
maximum multiplier 1000%
Same for attack power and model scale
uh oh, you just increased everyones health and damage by 10x while also making them 10 times bigger, without any randomisation.
Oh, and adding traps to 100% of objects
I noticed all this alot of them were setting ranges so he just maxxed out the possibility of everything making it less random but more strange, as well as using pregenerated tables which would mean less random

The thing is with Skyrim's skill system, my characters always end up being stealth archers or berzerker dual wield with that one shout that enhances attack speed.
And in Morrowind suprisingly i always end up with a Jack-of-all-Trades, a one-hand build who can also manipulate NPCs with words, can lock pick, can use heavy and light armor, sometimes axes, too, can enchant and use destruction magic and there's always Athletics and Acrobatics in this build, too since in Morrowind Acrobatics actually can give you advantages, especially high ground advantages.
And i love to have the high ground. I also love to have my message sound on my phone say "Hello there!" to me all the time. And before you ask, i have no idea if this is a good ice breaker, strangely i never had a situation with my phone going off with this message sound when a beautiful woman was around.
...Aaaaand i just gave myself a terrible idea... A terrible idea that might actually work in my case...

I couldn't agree more on what you said about Skyrim's skill system. I'd like Bethesda to cut back on the base building/crafting trend and go back to making proper RPGs. They can make games that are fun to play, but I want more from them than games that just work...

Honestly i hope they dont keep trying to boil down bethesda games. Like Oblivion to Skyrim. Oblivion 7 mage schools + mage collage that allows you to CRAFT SPELLS.
Skyrim 1 collage with a forge you can kinda craft in from a preset list of working and nonworking things.

I think the reason you were having trouble hitting the smaller ones is that shrinking yourself down in this game will only reduce your model's size to a certain limit, but the hit box might still be way smaller than the model
