Hey buddy, I just installed this exactly therm in my C7 corvette. I noticed it didn’t seat all the way to the plastic housing tight like the factory. I tried every possible way to have it seat tight. Left a very small gap where the o ring would sit flush. Did yours do this? My part # is the same.
Ohh sorry! Yeah about the T stat. Mine seated just fine with no gaps. U dont want gaps it will leak, it needs to sit flush all the way around. I would contact the company that u ordered it from, maybe it is damaged or just a bad batch. I wouldn't install it and drive the car, your going to have issues.
great,, put a thermostat in that opens 50 degrees below the point the electric cooling fans come on.. this will ensure that the thermostat will never close.. the coolant will be circulating thru the system so fast that it will never cool off.. you will blow the top tanks off the radiator at high speeds.. as the mechanical pressure built up by the water pump can easily outflow the radiator tubes.. the fuel system is NOT calibrated for a 160F thermostat.. or it would have one. expect engine codes.. reduced fuel economy. overheating. melted cats from the excessive rich mixture because of the way too cool operation. what do i know.. i have only been a mechanic for 39 years..
Dont make conclusion so fast. This thermostat was installed on a 840hp Supercharged and Meth injected C7 Corvette and the fans have been programmed to work in sync with the new t stat.
you did not mention any of that in the video so its totally misleading.. somebody will see that and ruin their corvette.. this has been happening for many many years because some people don't understand the fuel injection and fan controls.. corvettes are usually operated at 215F to 238F depending on the year starting with the first fuel injected C4s.. well actually the fuel injected C3's..
This video was literally posted to help other fellow C7 owners replace a bad factory t stat. In which case it doesnt matter what temp u end up installing, this will be the same method. I just ended up going to a lower temperature due to all those modification and for the subscribers watching the channel, they know the car is fully modified.
@@StreetProduction303 just reading the comments. Good work. People do make assumptions... happens all the time with my videos, too. I have a modified C7 Stingray... Edelbrock... same stat except by Lingenfelter... I get weird comments from people at times that show they either aren't listening, aren't watching, or just "know it all." Keep up the good work, my friend. Well done.
" the coolant will be circulating thru the system so fast that it will never cool off.." " melted cats from the excessive rich mixture because of the way too cool operation." Which is it? Will the coolant never cool off or will it have too cool operation? Do you always contradict yourself like that?
Now having to clean up the mess that I left under the car in the garage, the wife is gonna kill me :)
Prince Production 303
great how to video
Thank you :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Did you have to drain all the radiator fluid or no?
No! Only about 12 Oz of coolant will be lost
A dealer here in California want to charge me $1,100 for change the thermostat thank God for this video
VERY detailed and informative
Thanks!!!
Very helpful. Thank you
Yup! No problem
I've heard these overheat when pushed on the track. Guess this will help a little bit.
Modern Tom Sawyer I've heard the same, haven't had a chance to track it yet. I'm sure it helps.
Thanks for the Great information.
Your welcome!
Great tutorial
Thanks bud.
Did you let it run for a while with the cap off to release any trapped air? Just put in a 180 stat. Thanks
very cool!
NICE

Are u talking about on top of the trunk, where the rubber pad comes in contact with the spoiler bracket?
Street Production 303 talking about the thermostat

So this also works on prochargers?
Yes! It's the same oil fluid as well
Seems pretty easy to do
Kevin J yeah definitely. Save money on maintenance
Where do you drain the coolant at?
Radiator. Under the front end.
@@StreetProduction303
Okay, thanks!!
No problem! Most cars have a radiator drain on the bottom..its very standard.
From what I know you don’t hv to drain the fluid.👍😃
go go go
Haha yeah buddy!
